I just picked up a "like new" Avacado one for $2.50 at an auction. I see some VW bits and pieces in the background of collection shelf! ha You must be alright...or as "crazy" as we are! ha ...oh and there's a bus! new sub!

Most people have no idea what they are, nice collection, it's a hobby that alot of us enjoy.

I had one once that I discovered wouldn't light unless you put the wet spot on the side instead of the top, and it had to have a full tank, but once you got it lit it would run all night. One of the great things about these is around an 18 hour run time on a tankful, as opposed to 4 to 6 hours on a 1 lb propane tank. I gave mine away when I got an RV.

The heater outside doesn’t make much sense to me

I wonder if anyone has ever tried kerosene?

I was thinking the same. I'm gonna try diesel in a little bit, I'll let ya know! That's what I burn in my kerosene heaters in the shop office.

@MatthewBoos let me know as well. I'd like to run it off diesel because my truck runs off of it so I can carry extra fuel for my truck as well as the heater

Stick to Coleman fuel, naptha or white gas. Other fuels can contaminate the platinum screen ruining the heater. Kerosene heaters and lanterns are wonderful, but this is a different beast.
