G: that moment when rivals work together to make a fantastic processor
4:33 The Broadwell C/R chips are actually quite special (and honestly deserved for attention than they got). The C-chips (i5-5675C and i7-5775C) were the only socketed chips with Crystalwell (embedded L4 cache/VRAM for a respectable iGPU) and were also unlocked. The R-chips were the BGA variants of the same. The iGPU of those chips (Iris Pro) rivaled a GTX 750, IIRC.
You missed S
Yeah, totally!
"Performance-optimized lifestyle".
S stands for..

Intel + AMD = ???????
Yes. Contrary to what the fanboys think, what megacorporations actually care about is profit, and they will even work together if that leads to increasing it.
Intel graphics ? High performance graphics ? Error 404, performance graphics not found.
Delirious Mako that's only because I disable those Graphics so that I could overclock my chip better
Psshhhhh noooo my intel hd 4000 runs battlefield 5 ultra settings rtx on 67 FPS
@@Bob_Smith come on we know you are lying it's obviously 240fps at 8k on ultra settings
@HYPER FOX ignorance at its finest it can obviously play with full ray tracing at 1000fps at 32k resolution
They forgot one "S" denotes "performance optimised lifestyle" which may relate to the addition of embedded options being available vs not being on the standard chips. Also generally these chips have a lower base clock but have the same boost clock as their normal chip counterparts.
2:32 THIS IS WHAT MY PARENTS QUESTION EVERY DAY
My fellow indian also watches linus
k: overclocking enabled
H: high power and performance, optimized for mobile
U: low power, for mobile
Y: ultra low power (usually for laptops) (but y tho), not recommended for gaming
E: Embedded
T: low power for desktops, usually in all in one pcs
P: less powerful integrated graphics, its cheaper and meant for people who only use their igpu for troubleshooting
F: no integrated graphics
G: Amd's rx vega graphics built in, branded as radeon technologies group
X: means extreme series, also unlocked (x for xpensive?)
*Special* *letters* *for* *Broadwell:*
R: fits in BGA sockets
C: same as K
edits:
M: mobile (QM is quad core mobile)
Q: quad core
S: special edition
also you can have quad core without Q, even alot of U series cpus have 4core now
usually letters can be mixed together and mean both of the two things, (with the one exception of XE, which means higher core count variant of the cpu)
Which means all the Intel processor has build in graphics ?? But only the F series does have igpu?
@@successpro9424 yeah all chips not from F series has integrated graphics, people dont talk about it bcoz integrated graphics usually arent very good and many laptops and such just have a seperate better dedicated gpu in them

Me: Wait a second...

I have been looking for this! Thank you.
Thank you so much for this explanation of part of their chip naming.
Intel Chip Naming is a Big Box of Tangled String
Intel has different Cores i3, i5, i7, i9, and Xeon.
Each one of those has at least 10 different versions of it.
They use a bunch of 5 digit numbers that are not always in order.
They have like 11 different "Architectures", roughly one per year.
Each Architecture has its own name.
All of the architectures either look similar or sound similar, like Lake, or Coffee, or Skylake, or Bridge, on and on.
There are like 11 "Generations".
There are varying number of Cores, 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 etc
Some of the chips are for Desktop, some for Mobile, some are Embedded.
Each and every dimension that I've listed so far, can be intermixed, intermingled, intertwined with every other dimension I've listed so far.
Plus there's a lot of factors that I haven't mentioned.
Wikipedia has a ton of information, but it's like jumping into the ocean and trying to write down the names of all the fish you see.
Intel has a lot of lists on its website too.
I've copied dozens of files, I've created 5 subdirectories, ~30 files, and many many hyperlinks connecting those files together.
I have been working for 4 to 10 hours per session, for at least 3 sessions trying to figure all of this stuff out.
I think that Intel is intentionally trying obfuscate/confuse/befuddle the outsiders, so that they cannot make an intelligent decision, and instead just have to rely on the marketing hype.
THIS IS RIDICULOUS !!!!!!
They should name their Chips as follows: Year, Month, Day, # of Cores, Base Clock Speed, Architecture, Familiar name.
Then they should have an easy-to-access webpage where people can look up all of the detailed information about that chip from their website.
Examples (made-up):
Intel 2021.04.08, 8 Core, 3.8 MHz, Cypress Cove, Invigerator, or
Intel 2020.11.05, 6 Core, 3.4 MHz, Comet Lake, Leveller Upper, or
Intel 2017.06.23, 4 Core, 2.9 MHz, Kaby Lake, Monster Killer, or whatever
where can we see your work by the way?

For more confusion, "E" has been very rarely used... plenty of Celerons and Pentiums (and Haswell and earlier i3s) support ECC memory as long as they're used with an appropriate motherboard chipset. And of course they don't stick "E" on the Xeon model numbers, ECC support there is a given.

Hey can you please make a video about PCIe lanes? Mostly in intel since its so very confusing. For me at least an owner of 7700K their website says that I have 16 pcie lanes however my motherboard can offer more for like m.2 ssds and such, i have only understood this after a lot of research and in my opinion this should be a lot clearer to your average bob. so it could really help if you guys made a video about this.
This is what I needed
ah yes, except now F means no iGPU, There is now G1, G4, G7 which seem to just be different graphics that change each genration. there is a 'B' that means "ball grid array" (BGA rather than LGA). theres an "R" which seems to mean industrial use. theres an 'N' which I honestly have no clue but it is in some Xeon processors, theres a 'V' that I also have no clue but is in some Xeon processors, E has a 3rd meaning now since it can sometimes mean "embeded". I also saw 'L' which seems to be in between T and U. Theres a J that seems to mean the processor has an NX bit. why do they do this?
