Today I have a service call on a Nordyne furnace. Customer says the unit is making a loud noise. In this video I show how I make the repair and one of my favorite tools as a HVAC technician. Hope you enjoy the video!!

Zac, you always do such a great job, from camera work, the communication, and most of all HVAC knowledge! Fantastic!
The center section of the blower wheel separates from the blades. Hold the shaft of the motor with a wrench and spin the wheel by hand.
Thank you. Nice video. Quick tip before I ever put a wheel in. I always roll it. Make sure it is straight
So awesome. Thanks for the support man!! You're amazing! Always love your stuff.
I've been using the app for a while. It's really well thought out. One thing I would love to see eventually is for you guys to more thoroughly organize and label the submittals, install manuals, etc. in the sub menus of the equipment. In my experience most information manuals on the app are unorganized PDF documents with vague titles. Hard to justify using the app to track down product literature when I can get it faster from a google search or get down from the attic and grab the paper manual.
The whole time I’m wondering how he hasn’t ran into a hub spinning before
Same
it comes off as a scripted Ad
Most likely, he mostly installs.
I hope BLUEON starts cataloging Marine HVAC parts.
I tend to compare those blades from a blower wheel furnace to the blades of a turbofan aircraft engine. Of course they are not as aerodynamic as a blade of an aircraft engine but it serves its purpose of generating fast air moving. You pointed out missing screws and more likely they caused the imbalance in the past. At a high speed , no matter how tiny is a foreign object, once it gets in the blower, it will rattle. You did a great inspection and found the problem. You have good ethics and professionalism. A new subscriber here. Thanks for your videos. God knows how much our country need people like you ! Cheers from Houston, Texas 🙏🏻
Omg I need to start pumping vendors!!!! Good money in it. 24 years 5-10 jobs a day truck stock repair for me. Keep it rolling brother.
The time you loose just staging your videos is amazing! Not to mention how long it took you to diagnose that wheel! You must have a lot of spare time! Setting that camera up to show you closing that drawer on your van at the end! Time is money and you sure waste a lot of it!
Wow nice! I've had the Bluon app on my phone for awhile but haven't really used it yet. Nice van Zac, thanks for the info!
I had the same thing happen to my blower wheel and my neighbors. From the looks of it you can’t tell. Mine got so bad that it finally separated entirely. Shrieking loud noises for sure thru the house.
Love the work van setup brotha
So I work for a supplyhouse(Idk if I can say the name) and as a counter guy I LOVE Bluon! It gives me a way to see exactly what the techs are looking at so I can have the parts they need ready for them to go. I can't say anything yet about future endeavors, but bluon is the bomb and will definitely be on my phone for a long time! My only gripe is I've been a pro for months and still no blue hat!(sorry bluon, had to lol) but they actually came in very clutch for me just this week. Had an older tech come in the shop working on a very old Goodman(based on S/N our guess was 88!) Anyway another vendor got him a new pressure switch, but because it was an old unit they phased it out to a universal part. We looked all over the interwebs finding all different answers on what the factory settings were, and finally I remembered bluon had a tech line. I gave them a call, told them the unit information, told them the universal part information on W.C. range, and literally within 5 minutes we had the universal set to OEM settings and he was on his way to the job.
Wow I didn’t know you could do that thru the app that’s amazing, thanks for the info!!
The first heard said to self the center of the wheel was spinning faster the outer wheel causing the sound, only because I had the same sound a couple days ago thanks for the app info brother good video
Digging the new service van. Have you done a walk thru video on it yet? Looks like a nice set up.
Clean work Zack
Nice work as usual !
Post more often man I really enjoy your videos!
I always static balance a new fan before installing but that is just me. Great Job…😊
Nice work my man
Hi Zach,
Just wanted to say love the videos. Thanks for the wealth of knowledge that your sharing. I just started in the trade. And I to am in the middle Tennessee area. I wish you all the best and again thank you sir.
Always learn from the best👌🏻
Always professional!
Also with blower assembly out take a peek at the evaporator coil through the heat exchanger.
Nice, as always!
I know you have plans to detail logo your van?
Keep us informed on the process...
Thank for the knowledge my guy
Great job zak
Love Bluon for myself, but no one else wants to get on board...people hate change so much that even when it's more convenient they still choose not to do it lol
Good look! I didn’t know blueon had a parts search.. I always used repair clinic to get part numbers then the supplier app for the price. 👍🏽 checking it out now
The most important thing to add about the Bluon app is that besides the great info on almost every unit in existence you can find on there, the parts ordering feature relies on your local supply houses being hooked up with bluon, in my area in CT, only about a month ago my supply house became part of this, and this features been out a while now. So I would talk to your supply houses to get them on board or you'll be losing out on this powerful feature which is really genius and a huge time saver imho. Good video Zack
lol what
@@intune6877 what did he say that was funny?
@@randybobandy9828 That wasn't a laughing response, just some troll.
I signed up and mentioned your name. Thanks bud !
I signed up with Bluon, curious to see how much it helps. Just having access to manuals and parts breakdown should make things easier
Thankyou hood experiences
Thank You Zac...
Ur a great installer and tech would love to work with u in Connecticut! Ur work ethic is impeccable
Yep!!I love it!!!
As an academy student soon to graduate to a full time maintenance tech I’m hoping my company can adopt this app it seems way faster than calling in and I can spend more time working!
Coast headlamp for the win….I buy mostly Milwaukee if it takes a battery but the Coast headlamps are the best! The rechargeable one lasts a long time!
Let me know when you want to hire another tech/installer . Just moved to middle Tennessee myself.
Nice van setup ez repair sweet
Notification crew in the house!
Bluon is amazing!!!
Thanks man!!! Appreciate it!
Hey there what’s up? Very good job 👏 show your van building 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 thanks
Zack is the blower wheel 🛞
LOL, nice OSB return plenum
Good work our native
Very informative
Nice work
Zac luv the videos, put down a knee pad every job. 67 now knees are still good.
That would be nice for a small business. I work for a large business, we have our own Lennox store and plumbing supply built into our warehouse. Our parts room is huge
good job!
Trane seems pretty good about the center loosening up from the blades , soon as you started it I knew what it was, not saying that was trane but the only ones I've ever changed for that was good Ole trane
Trane. Over rated and expensive. You need a part? You might make the customer wait a few extra days.
Thanks 🎉
Sounds like the wheel separated at the hub… had that happen once in 16 years but it happens
Nice van
How did you inspect the Heat Exchanger?
Hey zac, for your ac service bag and ac install bag , could you let us know what you keep in it ? I’m always interested in what ppl have in it ..
are you going to get ur truck wrapped? and also i work at the daikan here in ca im going to let them know about the new app i work warehouse and our inventory is always messed up this app might actually help us in a way. thank for the video. im going to take my epa soon i want to get my universal license wish me luck.
So if im working on a trane unit and use this app, is it going to go through my local trane store? Or where does it come from? Somewhere stocked locally? It wouldnt make sense to wait a week or two to get the part when its just at the supply store down the road.
Is the bluon app only for the states ?
Where can I get that HVAC shirt
How is that NV work truck holding up? I wanted to buy one, but the dealer told me they are being g discontinued.
BMW is toast. Heard it from the jump.
Hi Zac Im a minisplit tech in mexico I watch yr videos n learn alot I ran into a tool rf hvac called ""the Jumper King" n Im thinking of buying one fr my use can you please tell me if this device can be used on 220vac 2 ton minisplit units or would it be a waste of my money buying one here they cost twice as much than in USA..please help by answering my question or by recording a video on youtube and explaining that to yr viewers..thnks very much.
How’s the van
I ran into the same problem. I found it was the blower hub was cracked.
Fan blade wheel lose blades just come across one last week
Updated van video please
I know both electrical and hvac deal with electricity, but are you less likely to be shocked and killed with hvac? Also the plumbers union around here pays a bit more than the hvac union, but do you know who generally gets paid more working for yourself? Thanks
Where can i get a hat like you are wearing in the video
Is someone using a tone tracker in the background?
Supply House will probably still give you the wrong part or it will be damaged. Lol
That noise is ALWAYS a failed blower wheel.
Might as well replace the blower motor too.
All the best.
I thought from the headline it was something your boss had said. lol
Yooo never been this early
You might want to advise them to let you repipe the gas line so the union is located outside of the cabinet.
First thing I noticed
Why is that? I'm not a hvac tech, so I'm just curious.
First thing I noticed also
First go i knew the Weld on the blower wheel broke
I love the bluon app myself. Plus I love the cash back!!
Which tool? Lol Bluon? I was waiting for a physical tool.
Lol I hearya there but honestly Bluon is a great tool even though it's an app. It's a life saver at times
The wheel came apart from the center hub
Must be nice to work on an open vertical furnace like that. My jobs consist of that same furnace 3 stories into an attic, horizontal and no platform to work from. Man, I'd kill for an easy job like this.
Live in a area with basements.. my city has probably 85% basements 10% crawl spaces and 5% slabs.
Not gonna lie man, I don't think id be in hvac if my area wasn't mostly basements. kudos to you my man, horizontals and attics suck. i do em sometimes
does it work with all suppliers?
Like trane and Carrie
Do you have to install the Ultra Low Knox FAU's yet out there?
I believe that's only in Cali right now. Nothing out east as of yet. I found a couple in Michigan that were only 3-4 yrs old and the heat exchangers were blown out.
@@macmac3374 WOW already bad. Just remember to adjust the gas valve too 3.5 water Collums when they come your way and your good.
@@misfitricklapetina what about lp?
@@HVACRTECH-83 Great question haven't had to deal with that yet.
Never seen a union inside the furnace
👍
Where’s your kneeler to protect those knees my boi?
How much does it cost?
Bluon doesn't cost anything!
Starbucks? Where is just love coffee?
Lesson one kids, hand tighten your screws in equipment.
wheres the apprentice???
I feel like I would've known what that was without taking that stuff apart and adding screws.
Hi sir I am HVAC technician working prjent Saudi Arabia but I am interested work other side you provide work visa
I am ready
Our RE MICHEL stores here look like shit compared to that one!
Sounds like the hub has broke free
its the hub
Why would you leave the capacitor zip tied to the wire bundle? Seems lacking in “QUALITY”. Maybe this was just intended to be a commercial for Bluon.
It would of sucked if you did all that and still noisy then have to change motor also
Zack what happened to true service calls its all about promoting tools or seevices now. Still like your channel.
thats a fast diagnosis ...blower wheel is bad
Don't get me wrong here, but...I must just be unlucky I started searching on the app and 5 times out of 10 so far no parts listed. I will check my notes and see if I can find which models I'm talking about. Pretty sure most were less than 12 years old. BlueOn is great, but they have soooo far to go. I will keep trying, cause it's always easier to text in a part# than trying to read the model and or serial to a dealer and winding up with the wrong part because the sales guys aren't service techs. Hope they pay you good for trying to promote them.
I'm was thinking the same thing. Can't seem to find parts on most units. I was thinking it's was a east coast thing.
They are always adding to the app. They have over 300,000 models and over a million parts
