After the Huw Edwards scandal, the BBC will take a “hard line” on Jermaine Jenas as the star is sacked following complaints about inappropriate behaviour, says Josh Rom, entertainment reporter at The Sun.

Please use your common sense to separate your personal issues from the matter in question. That’s one of the reasons why the world is messed up. People actually glorify their destructive bias.

Common sense says such interactions can also be a trap. Woman likes man, man likes woman, woman shows interest, man shows interest and takes it further. Woman changes her mind, man continues the process, man’s interest becomes unwanted attention, despite woman not communicating ‘change of mind’ to man.

Nothing happened. They probably don’t want to offend the Muslim population of Britain and come across racist even though Islam is a religion and not a race. You can’t change your race but you can change your mind about your worldview. Anyway nothing so far has happened and I’m not holding my breath that anything will.

Unless BBC can show breach of contract, or actual breaking of the law, they will have to pay out, simply claiming inappropriate behaviour and saying unsolicited texting is not enough, any text to another person they did not ask for, even to ask a question relating to the job is unsolicited.

Maybe he’s been caught with his trousers down literally, personally I think he should take the sacking because if it does go to court the other side will certainly voice their concerns and produce strong evidence against him.

This is exactly why I avoid personal relationships with people at work, which is why some think I'm antisocial. I do my job and leave. Yes, the texting was inappropriate for the workplace, but if it was between two consenting adults, I don't see the big issue. A disciplinary action would have been fair, but direct dismissal and damage to his reputation seem excessive. It’s best to keep interactions professional-say hello, smile, and focus on your work. Mixing with colleagues beyond a professional level isn’t worth the risk-I’ve learned that lesson well.
