    Hello! I really want to try this brand and hopefully stick with it. My hair is currently colored blue black with a terrible dye named bigen color 88. My hair always looks great, but I recently learned how bad it is. I have a few greys, my hair is curly, long and thick. Do I still use the 9 volume or should I use the 10 volume to deposit a deeper color? Also do I cover the entire shaft of hair or just the roots? I want the color look seamless.

    Hello. For 25% grey coverage,and 3-4 level lift, the Natural shade picked for the formulation should be close to my natural hair and desired shade picked 3 to 4 level lighter?

    • @KenraProfessional
      @KenraProfessional  3 года назад +1

      Hello, Batool! The N series shade picked for the application should match the desired level. If your hair is a Level 3 naturally with 25% gray but you want to be 6B, your formula would be 25% 6N (or NA, NUA, NB, N+) and 75% 6B with the appropriate developer based on the texture and density of the hair. Hope this helps! Thank you for watching!

    Hi I want to try this colour, currently I'm using Nak and with the help of a booster I am able to achieve a lvl 6-7 chestnut from a natural lvl 1-2, is this achievable in this range and how would you go about formulating to maintain warmth and 25% grey coverage?

    • @KenraProfessional
      @KenraProfessional  2 года назад

      Hi Shay! For all intents and purposes, you could go from a level 3 to a 7 with 40 volume on fine to medium hair using Kenra Color. For 25% gray, 25% of the formula would need to contain the N series. For 6 levels of lift, we would ultimately recommend using lightener first and then toning appropriately depending on the desired result. We hope this helps!

  • @hopeamaryah1635
    @hopeamaryah1635 2 года назад

    Step number 4: how dramatically can a formula change based on gray coverage? Can you give an example? Also, should the desired color swatch still come out as the desired result if we have to mix with the correct ratio of N for the gray coverage or would the color swatch not be accurate at that point? Thank you so much!!

    • @KenraProfessional
      @KenraProfessional  2 года назад +3

      Hi, Hope! Great questions. Yes-- regardless of the amount of N that is in the shade-- if it matches directives for the percentage of gray that is present, it should look very similar if not the same as the swatch. Think of the N series as a filler or foundation:
      Example:
      Natural Level- 4
      Desired Level & Tone- 5B
      0% Gray: 5B + 20vol
      25% Gray: 25% 5N + 75% 5B + 20vol
      50% Gray: 50% 5N + 50% 5B + 20vol
      75% Gray: 75% %N + 25% 5B + 20vol
      100% Gray: 75% 5N + 25% 5B + 20vol
      Process for 40 minutes.
      Hope this helps!

    I am switching from 5 to 6 NUA Demi 1 to 1 vol 9, because 5 is coming out very dark. I have white hair and black hair and want to deposit the white (45 minutes). Am I keeping it on too long is why its so dark (not medium brown but almost black? The ends of my hair are getting lighter and Id like to keep it that way so I just cover the roots.

    • @KenraProfessional
      @KenraProfessional  10 месяцев назад

      Hi! The NUA series is much cooler than our standard N series as it provides more ash tones at each level. The NUA at level 5 could appear darker because the reflection tones are cooler rather than naturally warm. Leveling up to the 6 is a great alternative.

    • @KenraProfessional
      @KenraProfessional  2 года назад +1

      Hi Sara! If you're looking for a seasonal change, we might recommend asking your stylist to use demi-permanent color instead of permanent. However, when used properly, neither will damage your hair. We hope this helps!

    I don't understand I to 2 ratio is that the onces?.

    • @KenraProfessional
      @KenraProfessional  2 года назад +2

      Hi Diana! It doesn't matter what unit of measurement you use. At a 1:2 ratio, you will need one part color to two parts developer. For example, if you use grams-- however many grams you wind up using in color (we'll say 30 in this instance), you'll then need 60 grams of developer. We hope this helps!

    • @KenraProfessional
      @KenraProfessional  Год назад +1

      Hi, Edwina! Demi-permanent color is meant for deposit only, meaning it is intended to make things darker. If your hair is black to begin with, you will need permanent color in order to lift it to a burgundy shade. Also, even permanent color fades over time-- when you are ready to go back dark, you can then put a demi black over the burgundy color to deposit back to your natural color, or close to it. We hope this helps!

    • @KenraProfessional
      @KenraProfessional  2 года назад

      Hi, Alice! Permanent color provides a permanent change to the hair, but it too will eventually start to fade in terms of pigment. All hair color longevity is based on the porosity of the hair. That's why each person is different in how long the color lasts. We hope this helps!

    I had my level 5 base color lightened to a level 7 & 8N for highlighting, rather than using bleach. I moved another state and even had my previous stylist write down what she used.
    I don't know what the NEW stylist used as far as the level of developer, but I washed my hair 2 days later and a TON of it fell out! I'm wondering if she used the 40 volume developer and it was too strong?
    I've had this done for years and never lost hair.

      Hi Fragaria! We currently do not have a means of making pastels in permanent color. However, we do have the Creative shades that can be mixed with Clear to create pastels. Pro Tip: Start with Clear in the bowl and add/mix small amounts of color until the desired shade is achieved.
