Informative. And I like your lean style of presentation - just the info someone trying this out will need, but no noise!!
Thank you for that great tutorial!
One thing, that drove me crazy with my original 7" Raspberry touchscreen:
Everything worked fine, but the touch seemed to click on random spots on the screen.
Example: When I wanted to set the language to German, it selected Italian.
After double-checking my hardware, I found out, that Jivelite is the troublemaker.
Go to tweaks --> display setup and set the size of the display to 800x480 fixed!
That did the trick! :-)
Cheers for the info but never had a problem with the Joggler Skin
@@Eyerex I am a problem magnet, so I am not too surprised. 😉
That’s a great easy how to. Thanks a lot, I will try this I was getting fed up with Volumio.
One thing i should have done is show my Picoreplayer setup ie the case and hardware i use so will have to do a vid
Tnaks for the excellent tutorial. It is now running perfectly!
Great walk through! Worked first time. Many thanks :)
Thank you very much for this great tutorial. I wouldn't have got it up and running without it. Kind regards...
Thank you for the comment
Very nice video, well explained. One thing you didn't mention: A RPI4 has a 64-bit acthitecture. Does this mean that the 64-bit version should be used? Or does it make any difference? Update: I used the 32-bit version, and it worked perfectly.
You can use ever you won't see any difference
From Picoreplayer site
32-bit version is usually more extensively tested.
Best for older Raspberry Pi's.
64-bit Should work on all quad-core Raspberry Pi's.
Best for newer Raspberry Pi's.
But i normally use the 32 bit version even on a Pi4 but it's up to you
Thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH for this video!!! You got me though setting my new jams!
Glad I could help!
you all probably dont give a shit but does anybody know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account..?
I stupidly forgot the password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me!
@Alexander Sam instablaster ;)
@Lukas Korbyn I really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and I'm in the hacking process atm.
Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Lukas Korbyn it did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thank you so much you saved my ass !
Hi Eyerex
FIRSTLY - THANKS - VERY HELPFUL VIDEOS. ! 👍
Just a minor issue with my set up so far .
I'm connecting audio to my AV amp with a twin phono lead ( amp side )
to A/V connector ( Raspberry Pi side )
What would i choose from the dropdown box in the "audio device settings" ?
Just setting up today and there's no option for "analog" - its now "headphone" instead (don't know if that's relevant to my issue! )
Thanks in advance.
Awesome, this worked like a charm. A very big thank you.
Very helpful. Thank You!
Really helpful video. Cheers
The best tutorial by far, thank you for sharing
Thank you very much, I set mine up using your guide. Question, I am using a 10 inch touchscreen and changed the screen size, fits fine nut the arrow on screen does not calibrate with my finger position. Is there a setting I need to do this where the arrow is where my finger touches? Thanks.
Fingers crossed this helps but have a look at Step 5 docs.picoreplayer.org/projects/add-a-5-inch-hdmi-lcd-spi-touch/ if you need more info i would ask on the Picoreplayer forum forums.slimdevices.com/forum
@@Eyerex Thanks for the reply, I tried 6 different OS's so far and settled on picoreplayer, everything great except for my problem.
@@Joemama-km9np Personally i would stick with the Official Raspberry Pi 7" Touchscreen as it works out of the box with Picoreplayer i know it's a little bit more expensive than other screens of about the same size but it just works without any messing about
@@Eyerex Thanks but I have that one also, works great. Just wanted something bigger.
Great vid. Just about to build with a hifiberry amp2 for the hat and a touch screen. Do you use a rotary encoder for volume at all? I'm going to attempt this
Hello no never used as my dac runs into my amp but have read that it can be done so fingers crossed this helps forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?107001-ANNOUNCE-SqueezeButtonPi-Tool-to-use-buttons-and-rotary-encoders-on-a-RPi
@@Eyerex thanks for the reply. I had found that thread and am trying my best to make sense of it all 😊.
Good news is i built the rest of it today and got picoreplayer up n running. Just need to figure out how to get it to pull music from my dlna server now
@@TheKhirocks I've run mine before with music on hard drive connected to router let me know if you need some help
@@Eyerex Legend for offering to help! I must have some missunderstanding of how dlna works. I had enabled DLNA on my Plex server and assumed i could use picoreplayer to stream from that. Couldn't figure it out so i installed LMS and then mounted a CIFS share where my music is stored on my NAS and pointed the LMS library at that. Seems to work, just need to wire up the speakers and figure the rotary encoder out. Thanks!
Great video Thanks but I m getting stuck after installing LMS, on my Rpi4 screen it starts PCP, then ask me to select a language and then Choose Player but there is no player showed ! :(
Normally when your running the server and player on the same Pi it should come up without having to do anything, just wondered if you go into Settings then Choose Player whats being listed ?
@@Eyerex Thx mate, I think it's because squeezelite was deactivated
Thank you! Up and running with USB plugged. Now I just have to figure out how to add my old WDMyCloud to the LMS. I have it added already to my LMS running on Mac but still don’t know how to do that on pi. 😅
Hello Picoreplayer should see the LMS on your network which the Mycloud is connected to or do you also have a LMS running on the Pi as well ?
@@EyerexThanks for the answer. I’ve got a LMS running on the Pi to shutdown the computer. Better keep the Pi running all day long 😅
@@albertocossio6545 What happens when you add the ip address of the Mycloud plus the folder where your music is stored to the Logitech Media Server page settings
Fixed! Right now is scanning the WDMyCloud 🤞🏻
All working like a charm. I’ve given the old Mac -which used to run my LMS- a break.
I own two working Logitech Squeezeboxes touch, but I must have a computer always on to run LMS. Now the Pi and this amazing software do it all.
Thanks again!
@@albertocossio6545 Good to hear you got it working :)
Superb Video, thank you.
Nice video carmly explained thanks
Thank you for the tutorial. Please could you make a tutorial for setting jivelite to control picore by a USB remote control? Thanks!!
Not something i've tried but will have a look for a remote
@@Eyerex thank you so much. A lot appreciated. I think it can be useful as well
@@Franceyou Thinking of buying this one or was you thinking of something else ps must be cheap :) www.hifiberry.com/shop/accessories/wireless-remote-control/
Can it play music in a multi room multi stream sytem?
Thanks for sharing
easy busy....Thank you so much.....
which monitor do you use on the raspberry? special drivers were needed?
Hello i use the
official Raspberry Pi 7" Touchscreen which is plug and play no extra drivers needed
Hi can anyone help me please, how can I fix it when the player image disappeared has off the top of the screen.
Thanks.
What screen are you using ? plus if Jivelite has messed up log-in to your picoreplayer then tweaks tab / and you will see reset just under Jivelite Setup
Do you know how i might be able to connect a turntable to picoreplayer, can it be configured on gui, I see some guides online but it seems complicated. I have all the hardware including dac, I just dont know how to do it via gui if possible
Bit of a strange one and not something i've heard people do :) Is your record player one with a USB output ?
@@Eyerex yes i have the Audio-Technica AT-LP5 which comes with usb out to rip via audacity etc. but im planning to use it instead to hookup to picoreplayer and play multiroom music around the house.
@@b4kk4li Ok will have a read to see if it can be done or maybe if there's a plugin about to make it easy
Hello does this post help forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?109495-Streaming-Line-Audio wouldn't mind testing myself but my record player (rega) is a normal type so will have to find a usb output device from somewhere
Can you tell me how to get access to play audio files (LMS +picore are config) on Android device using Kodi?
Hello i've never used Kodi but does this help kodi.wiki/view/Archive:XSqueeze
Can you explain the need or reason to resize the file system? Cheers
If you install extra apps it will ask you to resize so i just do it first
@@Eyerex Thanks for the reply! I had some issues doing that first and had to reinstall...likely my fault. Cheers
@@DistroUser When it does a resize leave your pi for a couple of mins to finish
@@Eyerex thanks E!
Was this done on an original raspberry pi? If not what model?
In the video i'm using a Pi3 but in the past i've used a Pi2 which worked fine
Thanks for the great tutorial! Just having a problem with mounting my music, which is on a 1TB drive. Picore Player can't detect it! Advice?
Hello what format is the drive nfs or other plus have you installed the extra file systems
@@Eyerex Hi. I switched from USB 3.0 to USB 2.0 and everything seemed to click into place - not sure why but it did. Thanks for getting back to me. Everything seems to be working...for now!
@@mikeymeally Strange i use a Pi3 so can't test the USB 3 but wondered did you use the 32bit or 64bit version of Picoreplayer as not sure if that will make a difference
@@Eyerex I switched from USB 2.0 to 3.0 and it's working fine now. To answer your earlier Q, I downloaded the 32bit standard version. Is the 64bit version better?
I am having problems getting it to run via wireless, though, which is what I need for my music system (upstairs). It runs no problem via ethernet from router (downstairs) but when I disconnect and try run wireless it can be detected but not connected. Orange Juice app on my phone can't connect to it either. When connected via ethenet pCP gave me an IP address for wireless but it keeps saying it takes too long to connect when I put it into Chrome. Very frustrating! Any ideas about how to solve?
@@mikeymeally Not sure what's better or any difference with the 32 or 64bit versions other than it can use more of the memory and may run a little faster but not sure if you will see a difference. Did you setup the WiFi before setting anything up like i did in video as the Picoreplayer with have a different ip address when using WiFi or Ethernet
Hello Eyerex,
Thank you for the helpful videos. Do you know how will jivelite look on a wide-screen (like the waveshare 400x1280 7.9" screen)? As it is a different format, changing the config won't help, right? Or you see a solution? Regards
Will have a tinker later to see what it looks like as that's a very wide screen
Things will need to be moved about and resized as it will look like this otherwise ruclips.net/video/Px4Rni3JtcU/видео.html
PS have you tried these settings docs.picoreplayer.org/projects/add-a-waveshare-7-9-inch/?fbclid=IwAR3BCUEblSE_-69ylMKzDLe-LcdjxgCRpNg1i_LE8wyvs_XaAKv334k3nG4
