    Granulation happens after vaginal births and subsequent tears as well!! It’s refreshing to have you be so open. So many “cis” women require surgery to reconstruct their organs after births, and it’s absolutely something that is ignored and glossed over. You’re doing so much good for those on your journey, AND doing good for all of woman kind. Thank you❤️ it sounds so silly, but we need more to connect ourselves to each other. In a climate such as today, more people need to realize the similarities are astronomical. And the differences can be worked through. I hope you continue on with your healing, and may any pain you’ve felt, be left in the past!!

      I sent a copy of this off to my sister who is a OBGYN doctor. She would absolutely love to know where you got your information from. It is NOT so many straight women who suffers from this as you claim. What internal organs need to be reconstructed after child birth?? The only organs involved are the womb & vagina & they are below the all organs. Sometime a prolapse womb or vagina need to be put back into place but that is not reconstruction but simply replacement. Fyi a trans women dose not understand what it is like or what is involved in child birth.

    • @CarolineUytt
      @CarolineUytt 2 года назад +8

      @@proud2babiowoman292 I think Mary meant 'reproductive organs' which include the vagina. Some women do have granulation happening after an episiotomy or tear but as a midwife I must say that is very rare. I personally have only had one patient that needed a procedure done.

    • @-MaryPoppins-
      @-MaryPoppins- 2 года назад

      @Road Rage Prolapses are horrific 😔 it’s nothing like “shoving it back into place”. Why did it prolapse in the first place if it’s so easy to fix!?!? The muscles, the ligaments, the other organs, everything needs to heal and that takes a long time. The nerve damage isn’t something that heals in a couple of weeks. It’s usually a constant reminder for decades to come. I’m so so sorry you’re going through all of that hun❤️ and they’re NEVER talked about. None of the aftermath of birth is ever fully disclosed and talked about. Not even by most OBGYNs. I fully understand where you’re coming from by not supporting others. But it’s always going to be a personal choice. I think all of the surgeries are currently in the “human trial” stage and that’s very difficult to witness others go through. I’ve seen women put themselves through horror after having mastectomies to reconstruct. And I personally cannot fathom it, but again, it’s a personal choice. I think doctors need to be far more realistic with the expectations and the recovery. Because there are so many that market ANY surgery as a “quick” operation without putting into account the healing, aftercare, and subsequent surgeries that may be involved. I truly hope you’re able to get with a pelvic floor specialist to try and repair some of that muscle damage and loss, and to prevent the side effects of your prolapse 😔 I cannot imagine the pain. I truly hope you fully heal, and never experience any issues ahead❤️ we need more transparency, and honesty. Nobody cares about statistics when they’re included in them. 1/100000000000 is too many when you are that 1. ❤️

    • @-MaryPoppins-
      @-MaryPoppins- 2 года назад

      @@proud2babiowoman292 I never stated it was “common” (which is a vague term regardless since there are nearly 4billion natural born women in the world, and most don’t live near you to proclaim their experiences). I also stated organs. I did indeed mean reproductive organs, but I supposed the area between your vaginal canal and bootyhole doesn’t count as an organ. We can ignore that since it’s never involved in vaginal birth apparently. And with all due respect, you don’t just squish your uterus, bladder, and or rectal tissue “back into place” and be done with it. The lasting effects are terrible and despite physical therapy making them bearable, it’s not like your body is back to 100% for the rest of your life. Never said a trans woman knows what childbirth is like either. It’s ok to hold an opinion. But to project your own animosity onto someone who’s pointing out the similarities in two types of people is astonishingly sad. That being said, your little looks absolutely precious!! Hope nothing but the best for you and your loved ones!!

    Hi Maya! I had my surgery just a few months after yours, and had major granulation from the start - 15 months later, and 30 nitrate treatments later, it’s almost healed. Fortunately, things are turning out great for me, but there were some really dark times. So I feel for you, and cheer you on to stay the course!
    I think it’s underestimated by many of us in the community that it can take this long to heal. I had granulation along with dilation issues so bad that I was bed-bound for over a year - it was difficult to do anything without pain. Thank goodness I could work from bed, because I don’t know what I would have done if I had a job that required being physically active. I know I’m an outlier, but I had “heard” that most people were pretty close to fully healed after 3 months. The more of these shared experiences I hear about, the more it sounds like the recovery time is being greatly underestimated.
    Here in the States, even in a big city, I’ve struggled to always have access to medical care - there’s just not enough doctors, and definitely not enough doctors versed in transgender care. I fortunately have some great doctors helping me out, but trying to get appointments is the same as you describe.
    That’s why it’s so important that there are people like you who are willing to share your experiences with the world. I’m sad you’ve had to deal with so much recovery, but it’s really encouraging to know we’re not alone. And it does get better. It may take a way longer time than we would have ever expected, but it does get better. In fact, it gets really wonderful.
    I’ve been watching your channel for years now - you’re amazing. Best wishes. ❤

      Fully healed after 3 months? After 3 months I was in pretty good shape. But I was told by my surgeon that it takes a year for the swelling to fully go down. This past December 12th was the 4th year anniversary of my Sex Reassignment Surgery. Except for the fact that I am terrible about dilating; for the most part everything is great. Although I did develop a urethral stricture. I don't know if the surgery was the cause. But since they did have to shorten and reposition the urethra; it seems perfectly plausible that SRS is the cause of the stricture.

    When do you think you'll stop thinking about you being transgender and start thinking just like a regular woman. I would think it's imperative to, at some point, approaching life as if you have always been a natural women without any thought of being transgender. Wish you luck and have enjoyed your videos. The next clue came in the second sentence when I used the term "at some point", which is a reference to both time and/or coordinate position. Once again not condition. Your inability to write in a cogent manner tells me that you have focused your life on other areas than education, especially English. "Nattaly"? Do you mean naturally? Last item, you predict that I will "never completely forget" something. I don't understand what you are talking about. I will never forget the births of my sons. I will never forget my wedding day or the day I met my future wife. Good luck with your life. You'll need it.

    Hey Maya,
    I’m 9 months post-op and had my surgery done by Dr. Brassard too! I’m still having a lot of trouble with sensation and feeling any sort of intimate pleasure. It’s crushing me. And I don’t know what to do or what is even normal. Any thoughts?

      Your mind state can also affect it. But everyone is different. I haven't had the surgery yet, but when I started hrt I lost sensation in my chest and I was devastated. But after a couple years, it came back. I also noticed in times when I was experiencing higher stress, I would hyper focus and I'd feel worse.
      I know it's hard, but I found it's best to not focus too hard and stay positive.

      I've had mine 3 years ago and what I've learned is, pleasure really works in mysterious ways 😅 I haven't managed to get pleasure with partners nor have I been able to achieve it alone but for some reason I'll sometimes get orgasms during dreams, it's really different for everyone, I think it's better not to worry to much about it, the surgeon probably did a good job, we just have to figure out how and what makes us feel good now, I know it's scary and super frustrating but don't loose hope we'll get there eventually 😊

In my male experience, I have my whole life (74 years) been appalled by the anxiety and stress many women go through over how they perceive and how they think others perceive their bodies. I’m talking non obsessive (supposedly-within-the-normal-range) women. I can’t imagine the pain and anxiety self…what … dissociation trans people suffer through.
    Anyway, I hope you and we all have a beautiful spring scented with the blossoms of hope and well being.

    • @macairhead5137
      @macairhead5137 2 года назад +1

      That really just depends on how you look at it and your situation. It’s not for you to decide how other people perceive the surgeries they have done and for what purpose. You first have to subscribe to the ‘assigned at birth’ thing (which, in my opinion, only applies to intersex people that have been wrongfully been attributed their ‘official’ sex due to misdiagnosis) for trans people in order for your surgery to be called ‘reassignment’. If you don’t, then confirmation surgery is a brilliant term. 🤷🏻‍♀️

    • @NYVET48TFW
      @NYVET48TFW 2 года назад +2

      @@macairhead5137 I go by technical terminology. Anyone can call a pig a dog, but it doesn't mean it's really a dog. I'll agree with you totally, 100% regarding intersexed people born with both and the 'wrong' choice being made by the parents with no input from the child (for obvious reasons)...but for anyone born male or female, the change of gender, which again I have NO ISSUES with whatsoever, is a 'reassignment.' I just believe in calling things by their real descriptions because I feel that by altering a term, it looks like we're trying to gloss it over, to make it 'feel better' and more legitimate, but the general public, still largely unaccepting, sees it as trying to 'pull the wool over their eyes' and I think that is HARMING the movement. Just my thoughts on the matter. I want all trans people to be accepted and for the knowledge to be fully transparent to the public so they can come around faster. Don't hide it, be genuine, it's the best path.

    Hey Maya - You're not going to think this is relevant but bear me out. I had a nasty granulation on a finger - the quick really went nuts and it was about3 or 4 cms sticking out of my finger. I too wondered about the stiptic pencil (as we say in UK) but nurse gave me the advice just to put 1% hydrocortisone cream (OTC) on it and it would work quickly and without any pain. To my surprise, it did. So if it starts to come back or form anywhere else, give that a shot first.
