Essentialism has its roots in the obscure scripture passage found in Proverbs 30:8-9. It's the Prayer of Agur and delivers the secret for finding balance and purpose. In many ways, the opposite of The Prayer of Jabez.

So much of this discussion on saying no to people sounds like a rationalization for selfishness. What is wrong with being inconvenienced with helping out a friend or someone you need? I mean - it is okay writing a self-help book but if someone actually needs your assistance, that's too much?

This was one of the most boring and uninspiring podcasts that Tim has ever done. I found the ideas of the guest really uninsightful...

You are clearly just the devil, that's ridiculous.

McKeown has a fine sense of humor to make it less boring tho. The problem I think is that he states too much the obvious considering Tim's audience

I was thinking exactly the same thing. The only one worse was with the creator of Bumble.
Funny how the master of "Essentialism" can't apply his own concepts. Rarely do I hear someone who talks so much and says so little.

Right. I read Greg's book and found the same thing (uninsightful) ......until just past halfway through. At that point he starts to pique my interest and continues to up the game through to the end. Once he gets to it, I think he does an unprecedented job of integrating relative life to conscious awareness or mindfulness.
