I disagre. But, here's why.... The advertisements Tim's sponsored by (here yes, however always) are obviously quite thought-out b4hand. As they again, (ea. one here), as always, are personally and I sure, well beyond--giving extreme practical+ value for many. Yes, for enhancing to tools for which we better maneuver/leverage our lives.

@@davidgrigsby8963 I agree but many long time listeners have heard them all before.

@@anon1665, ok, fair point. I hadn't thought about that. I've tended to jump around from so many great thinkers (especially if I'd never heard them speak/be interviewed b4). So, even that stuffs more fresh to me, when I get back around to my favorites (of the greats again).

Levels of commitment: What an absolute knowledge bomb about horizons of focus. He presents an exquisite mental model to think about priorities. Certainly worth listening to a few times. Here is a summary:
Horizon 6: What is your purpose?
Why are you on this planet? It is the top level horizon. This has got to help you set priorities. Just to be sure your general direction is right. You don't wanna be off purpose. Knowing your purpose wont help you decide which email to write first, but whatever.
Horizon 5: What is your vision?
Operationally this is the next level down. What are you involved in over a 3-5 year period? Think about it as your plan to achieve your purpose. Even if you’re not aware, chances are that subconsciously your decisions are aligned to achieve this.
    Horizon 4: Goals and objectives?
What are your goals and objectives for your vision? In the next 3-24 months, what are going to do? If your vision were to come true, what needs to happen? It could be hiring a new employee, getting your kids into college, publishing a book, etc.

Horizon 3: Areas of focus and accountability.
Importantly, what are the things that you need to maintain? What are the balances that need to be in place to go after the above? What are the bare necessities? How is your health? Finances? Relationships? Spiritual life? Your dog?
Horizon 2: What are your projects?
What are the things you are currently working on? Projects can be quite complicated. A closer look (and more thinking) would reveal several action items for the todo list. Even things like ‘Mom’ or ‘BANK’ on your todo list are projects. Break them down.
Horizon 1: What are the things that you need to finish?
This is the ground floor - the huge volume of actions and information you currently have to do and to organize, including emails, calls, memos, errands, stuff to read, stuff to file, things to talk to staff about, etc.

Here is a link to the point where David talks about it. Excellent listen as always @tim

I have been a fan of David Allen's system since 2005, I think. And since then I have listened many interviews with him, however today I felt he mentioned things he has never spoken about before with others. Or even went into further detail. It was really fascinating. One of the best interviews I have ever heard. Whatever relationship they have with together, it was really nice that David let Tim inside his mind. Great job! I will definitely listen to it again.
