- Just because a guitar pedal doesn't make it onto my pedalboard doesn't mean I don't love it. In this video, we'll peek inside my pedal drawer and take a look at five of my all-time favorite pedals that I don't plan on letting go of any time soon.
We'll be covering one of the best-sounding Tube Screamer pedals out there, the most famous vintage reverb and tremolo pedal ever, an outstanding analog delay pedal, a $2500 germanium Fuzz Face clone, and a reissue of Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan's favorite octave fuzz.
The five pedals in this video are:
Ibanez TS-808 Reissue (Analogman Silver Mod)
Strymon Flint Reverb & Tremolo
Boss Waza Craft DM-2W Analog Delay
Chicago Iron Octavian Octave Fuzz
Analogman Sun Face NKT275 Red Dot

Loved the demo on tubescreamer. I'm experimenting one myself and this really helped.
Great to hear!
Hey Andrew! Love the videos man. Nice to see good content from a fellow Canadian! I'm in St. Thomas, ON :) I managed to buy a KTR at a retail store like 5 years ago before things went mad with my version being discontinued. I also found a TS10 that the owner thought wasn't working but just needed some WD40. So, definitely holding on to those!
And yeah, love to see that fuzz video. I have an old MJM Ge fuzz (made in Montreal) and I absolutely love it.
Hey! Cheers, man. Thanks. Yeah, a would do terrible things for a TS10 or a KTR 😂 haven’t heard about MJM in a while. Cool stuff for sure!
I need the Flint one day. I love my T-Rex Diva as my modded TS and an ODR-1 set on very low drive. Always mixing these pedals as the Diva has a Mix knob.
Wish more OD’s had a blend.
Totally! A blend knob is one of the best additions to an overdrive pedal (or any pedal for that matter)
Had some pedals that I can't get rid off even if they are not on my board. A Boss DD5 (with box lol) and Paul Cochrane Tim V2 to name a few. 😊
Ooohh man those are keepers for sure. I owned 2 original Timmys (one purple and one surf green) and I sold them off like 7 or 8 years ago. After seeing what they're going for now, I'm trying so hard not to think about them lol.
my pedal that i don't think i'd let go is the marshall bluesbreaker, managed to get a super good deal on an old beat up one for $400 CAD. I dont use it super often but its an absolute classic overdrive and seeing how much it costs now ohhh maaaan
Dude you definitely gotta hold onto that one. Who new that guitar toys would turn out to be an actual investment lmao.
i have a whole literal wall of pedals. I still keep buying them....for some reason. I also got the Quad Cortex a month ago. I rarely use pedals anymore. I have a few Overdrives I really like, so I set them in the couple ways that I like to play them and captured them with the QC. I will probably never sell my pedals either, but I also will likely rarely if ever use them. Highly recommend getting a Quad Cortex.
One of my buddies swears by his Quad Cortex. Would love to spend some time with one. They look awesome.
I have the original DM2. It sounds great when I"m playing stuff like Little Wing.
Would love to try one of the originals some day
Your shirt looks like you really sweat 😅 I have to say that normally I sell pedals when I don't use them on my pedalboard anymore, because over the years I found out for myself that less is more and I'm more focused when I don't have too much options. I mean... let's face it: pedals are expensive.. Ans if you really need a pedal again, you can buy it back second hand somewhere :) I play guitar for 25 years now and there where a few pedals I really loved back then.. but once I sold them, I never thought about getting it back. Because the replacement was even better every single time 😄
I mostly agree with your point! I've sold SOOOO many pedals to get the current lineup on my board and don't regret letting go of a single one.
I'll never sell my 2003 analog man ts808 it's the perfect Tube Screamer imho. I have the Flint V2 and it's absolutely amazing. The DM-2 is beautiful but you should try out the Dunlop Echoplex Delay it's incredible nails that U2 The Edge tone.
Nice! Yeah I’ve heard good things. The Echoplex is doing the tape thing, right?
@@andrewclarkeguitar yes tape echo, honestly it's beautiful. Loving the channel 👍🏼
@@AndrewMooreLearningLicks thanks man! 🙌🏻
Cool. To allow yourself to sell that TS you should get Origin Effects Halcyon one. Just massaging your GAS here. :)
Maaaaan don’t even start 😂 I want a Halcyon so bad.
@@andrewclarkeguitar it's incredible! Lol
Even though I love all your pedals in this video I would suggest sell if you aren’t using them. Maybe take those 5 and make a mini pedalboard for at home at least so they get some love.
I definitely need to build a second board and incorporate them. That's a plan at least!
@@andrewclarkeguitar especially I have an Octavia on my main board it’s not something you can use all the time but when you can find a use it’s pretty amazing.
@@micktheman6 Totally. I'd like to maybe go to a larger board with space for it cuz it's such a cool sound.
@@andrewclarkeguitar my board is 24 by 16 and it’s always worked for me. That size can get you far I fit 14 pedals
I had some pedals that seemed to be in that category.
I think most of us do 😅 which pedals fall in that category for you?
@@andrewclarkeguitar Pretty much none. I currently own 3 pedals, Dream65, Golden Reverberator, and Browne Protein. Those are in danger of being sold like all the others too. The Nembrini Faceman plug-in on iPad plus all the absolutely insane effects available make pedals pretty much obsolete for me. I sold all my pedals and bought a Strahm Eros. Not a single regret.
What's your favorite snake?
If you're talking about real snakes, I think pythons are cool. Don't think I'd ever want one as a pet though!
@@andrewclarkeguitar Hah, cool. Figured you were into them because of your tattoo.
Great video Andrew!! Also, first comment
Thank you very much! 🙌🏻
Your welcome
I’d sell the sun face and buy a silicon version of it
I used to own a Silicon BC183 Sun Face. Great fuzz as well! Just personally preferred the Germanium one and the value will likely continue to soar. All personal preference though.
