I used to deliver May baskets when I was a kid! My mom loved May Day. And this year I noticed one large neighborhood on one of my mail routes had teeny pots with a marigold in the mailbox! Typically we would require postage on anything left in a mailbox but I was so thrilled to see someone celebrating that I made sure I didn’t crowd or crunch the flowers with mail/packages I delivered.
YES! May day was leaving baskets of wildflowers (ie, dandelions and violets) on neighborhood doorknobs! I was talking about that at work yesterday and no one knew what I was talking about! I grew up in southern Illinois so it must be a midwest thing.
I did this and I am very Bostonian! And when we moved to the MA south shore we got all the neighborhood kids to join in. Also, Christmas Caroling! We did that as kids and I don’t think anyone I know did this.
Lovely to see you again Sheila, nice progress on your stitching, love the bag, silks are so expensive, I do wish that designers would have a choice of fibers for stitching a design. I love the purse, the colors add so much to the style, it looks like a garden of flowers on the bottom, you are so creative, pretty handle. We would like a tour of your craft room, the framed design behind the yarn shelf what is it, I am a curious minded person. I think we should all save and use not waste anything useable. Love your yarn ball of fabric, that is a big hook, love the rug so pretty, great idea for scrap fabrics, I like the fraying, its rather primitive. See you soon.
I love your scrap rug! Such a great idea for those scraps. It's beautiful! Thanks for sharing all the stitchy info as well. Have a wonderful week. Love your hair!
Love the 2 strands on Remember me.😊 I hear y🎉a on 😢the weat😮her, same here in North Dakota. I am not a planner!😊 Cute purse? Love your flosstube, keeping up.I hear ya when it comes to scraps.
Great way to use those small strips!!! I have way too many bags of fabric scraps from all my quilting. Always planned on making string quilts with them. Someday!!! Happy Stitching!!!!
Beautiful projects…Teresa uses the most lovely colors! Love your sewing scrap crochet rug. I have knit and crocheted scrap blankets but it never crossed my mind to make sewing scrap crochet items! Fabulous…thanks for sharing. :)
I loved everything you showed and I also work on whatever I feel like with no time frame. I love the scrappy rug. I’m a quilter and I use my scraps to make rugs and baskets etc…. Thank you for sharing your beautiful work and I’m looking forward to seeing you soon on your next video ❤
I grew up in northwestern MN & recall delivering May baskets in the very early 1950s. I just googled to find out why we did, & found that it's a centuries old tradition. I hope it's still being done somewhere.
Remember Me is a nice one. I display my mom’s doilies in my house. I have a lot of them and I think of her each and every time I look at them. - Christmas House is so pretty. Love it!
I think my oldest daughter is like your daughter. She wants to know what, when, how and everything else when it comes to plans and I'm more like you, whereas I don't like detailed plans. I just stitch what I feel like stitching on and no timeframes. I love your rug. I don't crochet but always love what you share and that rug is so cool! I hope it inspires someone else to use their fabric scraps. Congrats to your daughter being a Senior. My son will be finishing his Junior year shortly.
I love your rug! I made a ball of "Yarn" with the leftovers of worn out t-shirts (mainly the hem stitched at the bottom--the rest goes to a rag drawer). I never got as far as crocheting, though. I need to get a size P crochet hook first. :) The scraps of quilting cotton would probably last a lot longer. Great video! Thanks ❤
I often wonder if my childhood memories are because I actually remember them or because I've seen a picture or have heard a sibling talk about something. I absolutely love the fabric scrap rug. I've taken my scraps and am going to attempt to make a postage stamp quilt. This will definitely be a long term project but I'm ok with that.🙂
Love your witch with the black cat fabric on the back, big cat lover here. The Nora pattern you choose is fabulous, I start my first Mira on May first and plan to see how far I get for the month of Mira May, enjoying it so far, the colors are just spectacular.
I love that Bessie pattern! So putting that on my wish list. I'm the same about not wanting to put things in the landfill. I've made a fabric strip rug, too! Haven't made one in a while. Mine is oval. I like making shopping bags out of old curtains. ... I have lots of scrap fabric ... I think I'll make more rugs
I loved that dirty Annie’s pattern! It’s just so cute! Had to get it don’t have hardly any npi silks either! Wow the rug is a good idea! I was going to make a scrap quilt! I’m going to do that instead!
Another fun video!! Your stitching is beautiful. I may be wrong, but I like your different hair color. It looks pretty with your complexion. I enjoy your creative ideas. Thanks!!
Loved your crochet rug! What a great way to use up scraps. Your cross stitching is beautiful and fun to see what you’re stitching on. Sweet bluebell pattern with the momma cow and her calf ❤️
Hi Sheila. I love all your projects - they are so original and unique. You are my favorite new flosstuber!! I also love your sensibility and stories. Like listening to them.
My husband and I were just talking about May Day baskets at dinner tonight. I remember putting in small snips of lilacs along with homemade cookies and other goodies. We then secretly dropped them off on our neighbors porches. I loved your scrap crochet rug.
Never redundant! I love your videos and your voice is so soothing that makes me want to start something in order to feel that relaxed. It’s is all your life experience or should I say a live well lived.
Hello! I love the content in your videos😊 I think it would be really cool if you did a video of your embroidery machine and how you make your project bags some day.
Love seeing your stitching progress. Beautiful pieces. What fabric & count are you using for your PS monthly’s? I have the set and am thinking of starting them. You are certainly creative! Dying your own fabric, crocheting, sewing, cross stitching, etc! WOW. TFS.
Hi! I am using 40ct lambswool, which I didn’t love at first because it is stiff, but now I don’t mind it. Still isn’t my fave, but I’ll probably them all on it? Or at least use up what I have
You were able to get a lot of stitches put into Remember Me. Don't feel like you're being repetitive or putting out redundant info. My husband told me that there's a lot of people "repeating" on RUclips because it's viewer based. If someone has an annoying voice or poor recording quality, they'll look for another channel. We homeschool, also. 😉 My oldest just finished his second semester being dual enrolled with the community college and is graduating high school! Does your daughter craft? Mine is a young teenager and she used to bead, paint, etc, but she lost interest. I hope she comes back to it.
Yes, my daughter has been dual enrolled some sophomore year. She loves the college courses. She does not get into any of my crafts. Her love is creative writing, something I am not good at! I keep hoping she will want to learn something I do, maybe when she is older too❤️
My daughter can knock out a poem in minutes. I used to agonize over poetry and creative writing! Your daughter sounds like she's squarely on her way! They don't offer dual enrollment where we are until junior year, but my son just wasn't mature enough at that time. Boys. What can I say? My almost 15 yr old daughter is ready for post grad school, it seems hahahha and my 10 yr old boy... Well, bless him. I enjoy seeing what you're stitching or crafting on, even if I've seen it from others!

That is so sweet🥰

It could be a Midwest thing? I just don’t hear people mention it much anymore. Being neighborly is not like it was years ago 🥺
I did this and I am very Bostonian! And when we moved to the MA south shore we got all the neighborhood kids to join in. Also, Christmas Caroling! We did that as kids and I don’t think anyone I know did this.
@@postallyyours we didn't do the caroling in our hood but others did.

Thanks! My craft room is small, but I probably will do a tour sometime! 😍
Great new hair color❤
Thank you!!🥰
I love the idea of crocheting the scraps into rugs! Thanks!
Thank you!🥰

Thank you so much! So glad to inspire a project for you🥰

Oh I must try doing a basket! Thanks for the suggestion❤️
Love your stitching!Listening to you makes me miss my sister in law! She’s from Minnesota as well!😊
Aww, we do have that homey accent😂
Wonderful Bunny stitch. Thank you for sharing your crafting.
Thank you! 😊
Great idea for your scrap fabric strips! Gotta remember that one. Another great video. Thanks.
Thank you ❤️
I grew up in northwestern MN & recall delivering May baskets in the very early 1950s. I just googled to find out why we did, & found that it's a centuries old tradition. I hope it's still being done somewhere.
I think unfortunately it is a dying tradition. 😢
Remember Me is a nice one. I display my mom’s doilies in my house. I have a lot of them and I think of her each and every time I look at them. - Christmas House is so pretty. Love it!
That is so sweet, I love having things around to remind me of loved ones❤️

Aww we have kiddos the same age❤️ so sad this is her last year coming up🥺 it was just yesterday we started kindergarten
Yes, it goes by so fast!
Great idea for using scrappy fabric strips. I love the rug!
Thank you!
Love the scrap rug idea! I'm a quilter so I have lots of scraps. I've never seen Bessie in the Bluebells. It looks like it is going to be lovely!
Thanks can’t wait to start it!
Love Everything that you show. Everything is so pretty.
Take Care & Happy Stitching

Long term is fun and knowing it will take awhile takes the pressure off for a finsh🥰

Good luck! After this Nora I might have to start a Mira🥰
Love the idea of crochet rug!!
Thanks for sharing your ideas and thoughts with me!
You are so welcome!❤️

I need to do an oval or circle one next😍
I loved that dirty Annie’s pattern! It’s just so cute! Had to get it don’t have hardly any npi silks either! Wow the rug is a good idea! I was going to make a scrap quilt! I’m going to do that instead!
So glad to hear! You’ll have to keep me posted on your progress with both😍
Another fun video!! Your stitching is beautiful. I may be wrong, but I like your different hair color. It looks pretty with your complexion. I enjoy your creative ideas. Thanks!!
Thanks! I like my red after a couple weeks, a little bright right now😜 I also like blonde so it is always fun to go back and forth.
Loved your crochet rug! What a great way to use up scraps. Your cross stitching is beautiful and fun to see what you’re stitching on. Sweet bluebell pattern with the momma cow and her calf ❤️

Your videos are great. I love the rug. I’ll have to try that with my scraps. Thank you!!!
Thank you! ❤️
Hello from a fellow Minnesotan. I remember making Mat baskets in grade school.
Hi neighbor! Must be a Midwest thing🥰
Love the Bunny one! Beautiful job!
Thank you! 😊
Enjoyed your crocheted rug.

You are such an inspiration. Love your videos.

TimeStamp 14.56 - I would say one of the Bewitching Pixies:-)
I’ll have to check out some of those too😍
Enjoyed “visiting” with you tonight. Beautiful stitching and love your scrappy crochet rug. Take care!
Thank you! You too!❤️
Love your scrap rug!

Yes, so glad someone remembers😍maybe I need to start the tradition back up😜
Never redundant! I love your videos and your voice is so soothing that makes me want to start something in order to feel that relaxed. It’s is all your life experience or should I say a live well lived.

Please keep doing what you do! Your videos are so interesting and entertaining. ❤️
Thank you! Will do!🥰
Hello! I love the content in your videos😊 I think it would be really cool if you did a video of your embroidery machine and how you make your project bags some day.
I will see what I can come up with, once I learn to edit the noisy machine sounds🤪 and do voice overs. Thank you
Love your red hair!!
Thank you!❤️
love your fabric scrap ideas, if you have anymore, please share.
Thank you!❤️

@@TheCrowRiverStitcher oh, won’t the finished be small, like 5x7? Is this for ornaments?
It will be small, I do like small for space saving reasons.
❤❤❤
