Brenda! What a neat thing that I can share my goals and thoughts and it can encourage you! In setting up a new household here after the long delay of time at the cabin, I had lots of time to think, plan and be purposeful about the life and home I wanted. We have made HUGE changes in simplifying as well as what I call ‘getting my ducks in a row’ for the future. Always worthwhile!

For me.. retirement, meant I finally had time to do all the crafty things I didn’t have time to do while still working. I worked in a place that forced mandatory 6 days a week and I had one day for cleaning and doing wash. I’m enjoying all my sewing projects,quilting,making dolls, embroidery and water color,and making cards.

I loved hearing your Segway into retirement. I agree the word discipline is not appropriate but all our working or home making lives are centred around discipline, schedules and timetables and retirement is actually when you can permit yourself to relax off the gas! Think of it as Long Service Leave or Furlough or Sabbatical - look forward to hearing what your word is next time! Happy New Year x

We also travel around in our smaller trailer with all 5 of our dogs, so that is always a fun adventure! We like to camp at Ridgeway so maybe I can sneak in a visit with you! Love all your projects, as I also stitch and quilt. It would be nice and helpful if you would let us know what stitch count you use. My word for this year is Joy! 2024 was a very difficult year health wise for my husband and me! We also lost several family members in 2024, my aunt and his uncle passed in Dec. we are looking forward to 2025 and finding Joy in every day! 😊
