I am happy for your happy suit. The Marine Corps is really taking care of its people now. Gone are the days when we got Army hand-me-downs. I was lucky enough to be part of some of the testing in the Corps for cold weather gear in the 1990s. I am jealous of your happy suit and wish I had one! It looks really well made. I have come to believe that YKK zippers are the only way to go when looking for a quality piece of gear. Thanks for sharing your happy suit with us. I never knew they existed until your video.

It was Dad's happy suit! Ever since trying it on I knew I had to have one, but, I wanted to be patient and wait for a real good deal on a set.

oh i was wondering how you'd get to your pockets without a pass through. you just unzip the pants slightly and it turns into a passthrough! thanks for that

@@robertsbushcraft i managed to pick up the gen 3 ecwcs pants "good condition - stained" for $30 . didn't see any holes in the pictures, and it was in medium regular, so hopefully it turns out to be a good deal. still gotta hunt for the level 7 jacket though
Hey, great rundown, never heard of the happy suit but now I want one.
How is the sizing for you? I'm maybe a half inch shorter than you are but also bit wider - although obviously you're no slouch yourself.
Is the Large just close enough for you to not keep in too much loose air but without constraining your movements?
I have an Large-Long USMC Goretex parka and while it is just slightly too large when I'm idle, it becomes perfect when I need to move and extend my hands, great size for me to layer underneath - perhaps a happy suit.
Does it get cold enough to use it in NC? In CA it doesn't get cold enough in most parts.
Yes! This suit allows us to leave the heavier sleeping bags at home. This suit, along with base layers, is a perfect fit with a three season bag for use during our winters here.
I'm glad you got a good deal but I feel sorry for the person who had to pay so much for it up front and then got received so little at resell.
