Thank you so much! :) I actually looked at Marshall this past summer although I decided it was just too far away from family. I've applied mainly to California schools (Cal Poly, Fresno, San Diego, and San Jose) as well as a few out of state (Mizzou, Kentucky, and ASU) so I guess I'll see what happens come spring time! :)
Hey great tryout video! It features your talent well! Where are you trying out at? I was a feature twirler at Marshall University in 2011, majorette captain in 2010, and a majorette in 2009 and 2008! Good luck and keep practicing hard! It will pay off!!
Sorry, but your performance lacks speed, correct body position, and consistency of rhythm, which are all values of an interesting and great performance. Why don't you focus on getting a college degree and leave it at that.
Thank you for your input! I was the feature twirler at my university. I have wonderful memories from twirling in college. What I love about baton twirling is that there is room for everyone. Not everyone will be on Team USA but everyone can participate. I encourage everyone to cheer people on through constructive criticism and positive build up. The philosophy behind how our sport is judged is that of building up a twirler. What does the twirler do well? Where can they improve? It should all be positive energy. One of my favorite memories as a twirler was going to baton competitions where I was friends with my competitors and really did want them all to succeed. Most importantly, we do not insult other twirlers. That's not how we build up a sport that is considered dying by some. Everyone has a different skill set and that's ok. I hope you have a blessed day! :)
Women can walk and chew gum at the same time. As a former twirler I can say this young woman is amazingly talented. I encourage her to strut , kick, twist and twirl until her heart is content. You are a hater. Pitiful
So jelly! I twirled for like 5 years and quit when I was 15. I admire your dedication and talent! :)
I love your baton twirling talent, Emily. Actress Sissy Spacek did baton twirling to On Wisconsin in the 1970s TV show.

Great video, Emily! Wishing you luck and a long college twirling career!

You are incredible. I was a twirler in high school but nowhere near as good as you. But they were the most wonderful years of my youth.
Thank you! I enjoyed my twirling career immensely. There are always ways to stay involved which is the best part of our sport!

Well put, Emily. You took the high road, I don't know if I would have been that strong. You were fantastic, darlin!
