Thank you for commenting this. I work in a primary care office and I cannot tell you how many lung x-rays we run through for our construction workers. It's a hard job. Be safe!
I left an abusive marriage a few years ago, and inspired by you, decided to build my own, simple home. It’s small, has a garden, and me and my daughter live simply in it. There’s even a Subaru parked out front :) That said, a home build will make anyone crack up a little. I had to break it down into teeny projects, no more than 3 days in length. One day, I looked up and I was on the last project. It will happen. You will get there. Best of luck and thank you for sharing your life. You’ve made mine better because of it 💜
I have to say, I'm subscribed to hundreds of channels and this is the only one where I watch every upload. It's like checking in on friends. You guys are truly special. Thank you for sharing your lives with us.
I'm the same way. I have tons of RUclips subscriptions, but only watch 4 faithfully and Elsa and Barron are one of them. I love you guys. Stella, I like how you said, "it's like checking in on friends".
If we all had our own personal James, the world would be such a better place. Thank you, Elsa, for sharing him with us. He's special 🫶🏻 Zoom in. Don't zoom out. I really like that.
Oh yes!!!!! It's truly amazing that he can shave off that gorgeous hair and be even more handsome. I know it's means nothing in the grand scheme of things (it's his soul that counts) but DAMN, that is one good-looking man.
What a FANTASTIC video!! The house is really coming along 👍 I enjoyed Elsa opening up so much about her feelings with this process of building your own home ❤️ Sorry...I have to go watch again!!! 😂 Thank you for bringing us with you
I spent 42 years of my life with my husband. He died a few seconds (minutes, days, weeks, months) ago. Elsa, you said "When you get to the peak and see everything done...when is that never not worth it?" Our marriage was born of love yet, at times, was very hard work. I am lonely at the peak without him, but I know the culmination of our work, our love, remains. I so very much appreciate the zen approach of this video and my hope is that it resonates with all who can soak up the message. Love hurts. Love is work. And in the end we might find ourselves at the peak alone. But it was all, surely, worth it. His love remains here with me in its purest, and most fluid, essence. Love is all there is.
@Rhondalyn134 I am so sorry for the loss of your husband. You said, “But it was all, surely, worth it. His love remains here with me in its purest and most fluid essence. Love is all there is.” That is so profound and so true. Sending you prayers for comfort and peace.
I can not begin to tell you how your recounting of James Pep Talk helped me today. I've had tremendous anxiety over my damn roof leaking. The repairman is three weeks out, and I need to let go until then and stop fighting what I can't control. Thank you both!
There were so many wonderful things happening in this video, I was exhausted just watching and hearing about all the work you guys are putting into your various projects. Hang in there, the days are long but the years are short. Thanks so much for sharing your life.
quickest 24+ minutes on my RUclips list this week. living 'in the moment' and 'one day at a time' is the only way I make it through my depression. THAT and watching people like you guys helps, there is so much beauty in the world and people who see it, helps me to see it too. much love from Vancouver WA.
The world needs more James’ James’ thoughts on life’s flow are so true. Humans are one of the few organisms on earth who repeatedly take the path of MOST resistance; and yet wonder why there is so much stress in modern life. We can learn so much from our elders and the world around us. Life is about embracing the flow and identifying when to push through and when to just go with it. You all clearly understand and embrace this, alongside some awesome mentors. I appreciated this commentary in your video! Thanks for sharing this essential message with the RUclips community.
Wow! Elsa, what a great way to open this video by paying homage to women. Thank you for highlighting their role, their importance, talents, and their amazing strengths. It's refreshing to hear. Kudos!
Thank you for sharing your vulnerability and being fully transparent with your emotions. Elsa, you are a Superwoman! You are so strong! You are beyond capable! You are brave! You are such an inspiration to those younger than you, but also to those of us older than you! My emotions feel lifted after watching your videos! What you and Barron create is positivity! And I thank you both for sharing so many wonderful years with us all… and hopefully many more to come! I look so forward to the video you will create when your home is complete, and we all get to enjoy and share in your emotions of elation, happiness and pride over all that your hard work will provide you Botha a your family! 😊✌🏼❤
Don't zoom out. Zoom in. One day at a time! That's what I try to tell myself every day. We moved into an old house in October 2022 and we're slowly making progress with the renovations. It's hard to admit that we don't have the same time or energy for renovations every day. I can understand you so well! 🖤
Elsa, I relate SO much to your overwhelm at the house project. When my dad and I completely re renovated the Aframe I bought, I got so burnt out and it felt like it would never end. There is nothing like putting in day after day after day of super physical work and barely seeing the progress. I also remember the insulation point as one of the hardest, because you know you are doing what needs to be done, but it’s neither beautiful, nor is the process particularly fun. All this to say - I hope you have given yourself ample days to rest ☀️ Lord knows it’s needed with that work.
FYI-with a concrete house plan for AIR CIRCULATION within so the INCREASE collection of DAMPNESS is dissipated! I live in a 1940’s hunting camp CONCRETE BLOCK house with NO CENTRAL AIR/AC in Prince George County VA! I CANT have AC due to my bronchitis… therefore I rely on fans & DAMPRID collection buckets in the summer months.
One of the things I taught myself somewhere along the way, was...if there's a part of a job you kinda hate, instead of putting it off, and dreading doing it all throughout the job; do it first and get it out of the way... That way, you don't twist and turn in your in your own dread, and the rest of the job is much lighter... You guys are getting the hard part out if the way... The rest is going to feel so much nicer, more creative, and simpler... You are strong...the both of you... Just remember, this IS temporary...and it will end. Just put your heads down, and move forward, and soon enough, it will be done! Love you guys!
$40 for that?! I use the Creaclip to cut my basic layers but there are cheaper versions. There are tutorials on RUclips but basically I brush all my hair forward and use the clip to cut it to the overall length that I want. Then I sometimes section off the hair from the level of the top of my ears and brush forward and repeat and then the top area of my head to get lighter layers as my hair is quite thick. After that you want to finish the ends so that it blends nicely and you don’t leave those choppy blunt ends. Again there are videos for this. This part isn’t hard but take time with it so you get a better end result. Nice thing is that you can go back the next day and adjust things if you missed bits. Also buy yourself some decent hairdressing scissors. It’s worth it for the money you will save not paying for haircuts.
The tenderness with which you shampooed and massaged Barron’s head was so touching. After 50 years of marriage to my hubby I had to do the same for him during an illness. With the love and care you show to each other I am sure you will too celebrate 50 years one day.
Are you sure you're not pregnant?? Your dress is made for easy breastfeeding, and you're emotional ?? Loved this video, can't wait to see what you do next on the house. Just remember to breathe and take it all in. Once you're done, you will be so happy to see all your achievements.
I can’t say anything that hasn’t already been said. So thank you for posting again. I’ve missed y’all. Camp and Pilot are hilarious, you and Barron are gorgeous and fun to watch together. ❤️
OMG WHY ARE YOU ALL NOT WEARING RESPIRATORS. I am horrified & scared for all of you!! I love you all so much. I have watched you from the very first post, first channel I have ever subscribed too. 😢 please be safer
I just had a room added on years ago to my tiny 700 sq. ft. CA high desert house by a (sort of) boy friend. He framed it, had someone roof it which was f'ed up, I cried. He quit after that to start a business. My neighbor, a carpenter took pity on me and finished it w/the help of friends in the trades including a roofer. I sanded the entire 25 X 18 ft. tongue and grove ceiling. Tough job. It was frustrating but worth it. I just traded my 2015 Tacoma for a 2003 Eurovan. Road trip planned.
As I turn gray , I’ve thought about shaving my head, to start over, and see how it comes back in 😬 but then I think back when I had bangs, and the awkward stages , waiting for them to grow out...I always hated that part 😅 the A frame looks great ! Elsa, take one day at a time.. B R E A T H E ! inhale through the nose, Exhale through the mouth 💕💫🕉 both of you are work warriors ! It will be so rewarding , when your place is finished! Proud of You, and your Perseverance!!!
I shaved my head. not that short ontop but that short on the sides in a fade. I had hair down past my butt. And im plus sized. I was so worried itd look terrible. I had No regrets. Man its so light weight and I loved it short. I literally lost like 10 pounds of hair. And in the summer my hair wasnt over heating me. Im growing it back out righr now cause my fiance wants to see it long. and atleast 3 times a month i think about doing it again. 😂 Those lexus gx470 are so nice. They were high on my list as my daily driver/ offroading vehicle. I got a 97 4runner with 185k miles on it and man i have loved it so much in the last 10 months ive had it. It was a little more in my price range cause both hold their values. the toyotas/lexus are so reliable. Ive done basic maintenance to it and thats it. I will be using the 4runner strictly to build out for camping/offroading/fun vehicle to keep the miles low and getting something else for daily driving at some point. Probably another toyota or lexus 😂 fiance wants to get a newer subaru forester or outback as his car for trips/ daily driving and light camping or offroading. im tempted to have him get a rav4 or highlander cause ive never had a problem with a toyota 😅 but the subarus have a way better awd system.
The subie has been a great car for you guys. Hopefully the GX470 will be also. I'm sure Barron already knows about the timing belt changes required every 90,000 miles. It's a pretty major service but necessary. The GX has a reliable drivetrain assuming the timing belt service has been done. While in there, budget for the water pump, bearings/pullies/tensioner, cam and crank seals.
Elsa it was so good to see you express your emotions. Doing what you two are doing, is a enormous thing and it brings out those raw emotions. Such a wonderful experience and as I said in another video, you will have memories you tell your kids and grandkids of when you and Barron built this home. They will come to visit and remember those little spots on the walls, dings in doors, and that broken window no one admits they broke. Savor these times and love them, the good, bad, and ugly; they are the fabric of life. Much joy to you in the process. Barron, I can't wait to get my copy of Normal2Nomad and hope that my little purchase in some small way helped to further your efforts and confirm that your lifestyle is one desired so many, not yet brave enough to make that leap, myself included.
Any word on the book yet just curious I can't wait to get my copy. Mucho Love From Your Friend In Michigan Tam. P.s. pups r funny when others go in heat lol
I was a licensed hairstylist(cosmetologist) in probably 5 states of my constant traveling life since age 19 (not at the same time) and now trim my own hair. Haven't had one good haircut by a shop (sometimes way over $40) better than I can do my own. I gave up. Just do it yourself, I say. I can identify so much.
So funny, before you shaved Barron’s head I saw a bald guy that looked just like him at the beginning of the video! I was like boy he looks like his brother!
One of the reasons I love your videos so much, and there are a TON of reasons, is because of your beautiful honesty. You and Barron live your lives with such honesty, in this crazy upside down world we find ourselves surrounded by today it’s very refreshing. This is really hard stuff you’re taking on, but man oh man are you ever stepping up to the challenge. Be kind and gentle with yourself it’s all good. I was so happy to see you had a taken a day off for just some good old fashioned fun. It’s the perfect medicine for times like this, days that are filled with super hard exhausting work. Your home is gonna be amazing, you’re gonna get to the top of that hill, it’s coming, one step at a time…..Oh and Barrons hair look fantastic too 🙏🏼🥰
Absolutely wonderful video. Love the use for recycled styrofoam. You guys are going to be so comfy in the winter, might even be running around in shorts. Emotions being released is like steam from a pressure cooker. It allows for all the good stuff to be enjoyed. Stay awesome dear freespirits!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love this video ❤ Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and emotions. Also, Pilot's so precious 💕 Super excited for the house! You're working so hard on it, it's incredible to be able to see the whole process and your journey
Hey, the house is looking great! I learned something interesting from good old RUclips, sand is the most rare commodity in the world. I shit you not. 😮
I’m happy you were able to share your emotions on screen. It’s like releasing the steam from a pressure cooker and I’m sure it makes you feel better plus the mental help you got from your friend. The dogs were so funny. Love, love, love the new look Baron. Elsa, it would have been cheaper to have bought a pair of hairdressing scissors and cut your hair yourself. House is looking great and despite your reservations now it will be absolutely stunning when it’s all done. Take care both, be safe. 💕Dorset, UK
I noticed in life some people get up and go with less emotional energy and have the ability to adapt, while other people are deep emotional beings and give birth physically, spiritually, mentally and emotionally to everything they do. People in the second category need a lot of me time and need to learn not to take themselves so seriously.
It will so be worth it! I was having a cry recently about how hard it is to run a business at times for very little reward. Someone said to me that challenge creates growth so just think of it as investing in a self development course. It made me feel better. You could pay someone, sit in front of a screen and learn self development or you can live it! So you’re character building and building a house 😅
You should ‘train’ Barron to trim your hair. My hubby has been doing mine for the last 30 years. Admittedly it’s all one length curly with no layers which is easier especially when wet cut. The first few times were nerve wracking for both of us but now he’s a pro and we’ve saved so much money! Always start with small amounts-you can take away but you can’t add.
Those were lovely dresses Elsa. Like your video capture & editing - a lovely thing! Never thought of see you in a trailer of styrofoam Elsa. Nor Barron with a buzz cut.
Us long haired girlies know - Our DIY hair cuts are totally sufficient and way more economical :) Next time trust yourself to do it! It does look exactly the same as before, so you did a great job.
@@ElsaRhae there's some good DIY tutorials online, but you need haircutting scissors. Doing face framing layers was very easy. I've been playing with different types of layering angles (getting shorter) and it's been fun (shock). Some of my favs are Brittnee Alexis and Paul Watts Hair. Brad Mondo is fun.
My mouth dropped when I saw those clippers! Much as I am a fan of long hair on men, Baron looks quite good with short! Elsa on the other hand, I love your beautful long hair!
Next time donate all that gorgeous hair to Locks Of Love. They make wigs for Alopecia victims, both young and old. Last time I donated, I think the pony tail needed to be at least 12" long. It's a worthy cause.
@@loririnaldi3408 I've done it twice. My first was 22" also and the second was 16". If you do want to donate, it's best to pull your ponytail straight up at the top of your head before you cut it off for max length.
Kamp always looks so light on his feet. I just wondered do you have any predators in and around your land during the day and night, that you have to protect your dogs from. It’s nice to see them running about freely. I’m from England we don’t really have to worry about these things but I know in other countries it can be a concern. I just wondered what yours were?
It’s funny you mentioned your dress at the beginning of your video. My first impression was, what a cute dress. So glad to hear from you two again. I’ve been waiting for a new video. Don…..Toledo, Ohio
Ive always like watching yall's videos. It's so amazing what you guys can do with just so little! I remember watching videos of when y'all was in the small rv. I use to live in a 40ft drivable rv, but times changed and had kiddos. I miss it so much! I guess once they get older we might go back to the rv life. Lol Thank you for showing the plus side to living the nomad life! Stay safe out there, I can't wait to see it get finish.
I am so impressed and inspired by you both and what you share. I enjoy so much the vulnerability and the “real” of what it’s like to choose the life you have chosen. I’m proud of you for making and owning your choices. It is so refreshing!
Ok so when you were installing the windows and doors I was like 😮 did I miss something Barron is bald then you showed the haircut after. I stopped watching and went back to see when he cut it before I finished out the video. LOL
My thoughts during this video: Girl. The orange polka dress, so cute Has Camp just been in a dry angry spell this whole time 😂 When I reach stagnant moments - I meditate to regulate my emotions 😢 New whip, who dis? It’s cute yet fierce! Buzz cut Baron + Princess Elsa ❤🎉
A big change indeed!! Good hair cuts all around..n the puppers put on quite a drama..lol!! A good visit n good luck with the new vehicle!! C ya on the next video!! 👍💇♀️🧙♂️💇♂️👍
Such hard workers you guys inspire . Barron you look really good … I often wondered how you managed to work so with all that hair , Elsa would look good too. Best of luck you two , and mask while doing that installation is a good idea👍🏼❤
Sorry everyone, I will not be shaving my head 😆
Yay !
he looks fabulous and you would too but I totally understand.. I wish I was the brave!
If you shave that gorgeous hair off, Miss Thang, I will file charges.
But imagine, you two could make a reverse version of the catfish-shower-scene!!!😂😂
Yes keep it long!
You should be wearing a dust mask when dealing with cement powder. If it's in your nose it's in your lungs as well.
Thank you for commenting this. I work in a primary care office and I cannot tell you how many lung x-rays we run through for our construction workers. It's a hard job. Be safe!
Yeah it's nasty stuff. Been there, done that.
Retired RT. This is sound advice.
Yes! I knew a concrete worker that died of lung cancer, and most of his crew has it too to some degree
Styrofoam would be the same I guess ? Cancerous

Wow! Love Love Barrons haircut. Such a handsome man.
Your home is going to be so beautiful. Hard work but worth it.
Elsa- I think your hair ALWAYS looks cute! You don't have to do much ;) Sorry about the $40
My Dad lost his voice for months after pouring cement with masking. Definitely wear a mask. That shit is lethal!
I love this video ❤ Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and emotions. Also, Pilot's so precious 💕
Super excited for the house! You're working so hard on it, it's incredible to be able to see the whole process and your journey
Hey, the house is looking great! I learned something interesting from good old RUclips, sand is the most rare commodity in the world. I shit you not. 😮
I tought you would go with another subaru. I m dissapointed.subaru forever
I am so jealous....can i be next in line for a hair cut (treatment)
That looked soooo good
I've been doing mine for years
What a great video! Didn’t expect the haircut though but looks more handsome than ever!! Elsa , it’s so true! One day at a time!!!
Kamp Is hysterical He's a little horn dog give him a stuffed animal lol
Us long haired girlies know - Our DIY hair cuts are totally sufficient and way more economical :) Next time trust yourself to do it! It does look exactly the same as before, so you did a great job.
Thanks for this support, I will try again!!
@@ElsaRhae get yourself some decent scissors😊
@@ElsaRhae there's some good DIY tutorials online, but you need haircutting scissors. Doing face framing layers was very easy. I've been playing with different types of layering angles (getting shorter) and it's been fun (shock). Some of my favs are Brittnee Alexis and Paul Watts Hair. Brad Mondo is fun.
Your crocheted blanket is stunning.
When I cut someones hair in a layerless cut I thin out the ends with either thinning sheers or point cutting, it makes a huge difference
Get ur dogs fixed please
My mouth dropped when I saw those clippers! Much as I am a fan of long hair on men, Baron looks quite good with short! Elsa on the other hand, I love your beautful long hair!
Yay!!!!! I love your posts so much ❤ I just feel so blessed when I see a notification that you posted.
For some reason I thought Camp was neutered. Im hoping theydont mate..
You should have donated Barron’s hair. Elsa - you could donate your hair too!
He looks so handsome with his new haircut. I hope you guys are having a great day today.
I love the hair cut …now you should trim the beard to look more neat and cleaned up
He is one handsome dude!
Next time donate all that gorgeous hair to Locks Of Love. They make wigs for Alopecia victims, both young and old. Last time I donated, I think the pony tail needed to be at least 12" long. It's a worthy cause.
I donated 22 inches to Wigs for Kids. Similar group. Felt sooo good to donate! And my hair was still below my shoulders lol
"Hard work makes you strong and teaches you things." How beautiful and simple that truth is.
It’s funny you mentioned your dress at the beginning of your video. My first impression was, what a cute dress. So glad to hear from you two again. I’ve been waiting for a new video. Don…..Toledo, Ohio
Short hair looks brilliant..
Hair looks great Barron!! Elsa, love your beautiful hair the way it is.
Barron’s new haircut looks soooo refreshing! I so resonate when Elsa said she’d want to do it too, sometimes long locks just weigh us down!!
The day I finally can afford a house I will cry my eyes out! It's been a dream since i was in my teens. Still such a far away goal.
HAHAH OMG my cat thought Kamp's whimpers were a cat in our house and has gone looking for the hurting kitty lol
So happy to see you both and the progress on your awesome house. Barron you look handsome with or without hair. Blessings.❤
Keep pushing. Once it's done, you'll wonder where the time went and there will be things you'll miss about now.
LOL
Oh I think Pilot knows exactly what Kamp is up to.
My thoughts during this video:
Girl. The orange polka dress, so cute
Has Camp just been in a dry angry spell this whole time 😂
When I reach stagnant moments - I meditate to regulate my emotions 😢
New whip, who dis? It’s cute yet fierce!
Buzz cut Baron + Princess Elsa ❤🎉
Love the yellow dress , very good, the house is coming along nicely my best wishing you happy days God bless you both and those pups
A big change indeed!!

Omg, where did you get that crocheted blanket? It’s gorgeous!
I made it!
Boy did this particular video get me in the FEELS in such a fantastic way. Your journey is GLORIOUS…through all of its ups and downs. ❤❤❤
❤ WOW Baron, is that really you????. Elsa you have a wonderful attitude when life throws you a curve ball
I have really been struggling actually! I can say these words all day but it’s another thing to believe them ❤️🩹
State Hospital issued haircut.
So good looking , I liked the long hair as well , and Elsa is so talented
Lol has kamp not been neutered?!
Such hard workers you guys inspire . Barron you look really good … I often wondered how you managed to work so with all that hair , Elsa would look good too.
Best of luck you two , and mask while doing that installation is a good idea👍🏼❤
A lot of things were put into this video. So many moments. I love seeing all the little aspects of your beautiful day to day lives.
Please make sure to use sunscreen on your head of you are not wearing a hat
BARRON BUZZED! Literally swooning for you Elsa
Y O U R H A I R
Barron, nice cut! Wear a hat until your skin adjusts.
