I vote for keeping the book affordable for more people. I follow other authors who release their books on their podcasts and I love that option for audio! It allows me to 'donate' to them and enjoy the book without paying for a audio book that I can't easily share with anyone else.

Thank you for your book! Just my 2 cents from an "older" fan... large print means I can see and read it. As you age, it's all about ease and customer service. The $20 price tag means I can purchase it from you. Both of you are beautiful people ... inside and out! I live through you vicariously, enjoying my ability to read and visualize you through my own lens/needs! Life is so good!
I agree with Diane. Maybe you could offer 2 different font sizes! I like the $20.00 book with the less slick paper. Easier to write notes in the margins. Big margins are nice for that, too. A coffee table book with beautiful pictures is a great idea to go along with your how-to book!

I'm 71. I got surgery for cataracts and still prefer large print. Be careful with the LED headlamps when looking at Pilot. The intensity of LED light can have long term adverse effects.
Honestly, I love these last few videos. Previously, your videos were uber polished and cinematic (which was also amazing), but these more slice of life, you and Baron quibbling, the messy hair - it brings back reallity. I really appreciate hearing this. I go back and forth as to what makes a better video. Raw vs polished. Maybe a little bit of both? Sometimes I feel bad publishing the more raw videos, as they take me less time to create!
As a retired graphic designer and also someone who worked at a printing company for several years, I will give you some technical suggestions for your book. Don't go any smaller than 12 point type. 12 pt. is the standard (preferred) type size for large bodies of text. 14 pt. and over is reserved for things like chapter titles, etc.. That being said, header and footer type (top and bottom of each page - chapter name, page number, etc.) can go a little smaller because it is secondary information. But don't go any lower than maybe 10 pt.. Margins are proportional to the overall size of the book. Larger books should have wider margins. Your book size calls for margins that should be no leas than 1/2". A little wider, like 5/8" is even better. Keep in mind the thicker the book, the wider your inside margin needs to be, otherwise the text that is on the binding side of the page will get sucked into the binding gutter as you get closer to the pages in the middle of the book. Also, maybe ask your printer for standard book sizes that would give you the best cut out of a print sheet. They will know what you mean. This creates the least amount of waste. I cringe when I see people who create books that are square. Rarely is a book that is square, a good cut out of the paper. Good luck with this! Writing a book has been on my bucket list, but I don't have the discipline to do it, so I will live vicariously though you!

From the younger generation: I am 22 and am really feeling the recession we're in. With that, a $20 book is better than a $30 book. I want to support in any way I can. I love Elsa's rings, so hopefully one day I'll be able to afford one to support her and wear something so artist and beautiful. I want to support the book as well. I was able to snag a ring (wandering) love that, I bought in memory of my hubs who just passed away and he is on a great wandering journey. If we had been your age or back in the day I could see us wandering. We did some of that while working all over US but we rented apts that to me was cheating......We did live in our van in CA for a summer so had a small sample of the lifestyle. I vote for the less expensive book. If it’s more of a textbook then shiny paper wouldn’t allow for writing notes in the margins, also harder to read with sun bouncing off the pages. The coffee table book is a great idea for those who want it more polished and pretty

$20 makes the book available to more people. It’s the info we need more than pretty photos. Bigger print is better for older folks with vision issues. When the grid goes down or people are off grid by choice - a hard copy book is a valuable tool! We have been full time in an RV for 8 years. The size of that book makes it easier to store and keep handy. A coffee table book goes against our minimalist mindset, but I realize, not everyone here is into minimalism yet. Good job to both of you! Keep up the good progress!

Beautiful rings! I want to buy one for every finger, I have a hard time finding rings that fit my thumbs but it is my favorite finger to wear a ring on :P Regarding Barron's book, I'm a little old-fashioned, or maybe just a little old, but I prefer the feel of a tangible book in my hands when I read. Also, if I want to reference something I read in a book, it's easier for me to whip out the book and turn to the page rather than get out my laptop and search for the book in whatever file it got saved in. So I'd definitely pay $30 for the hard copy rather than pay less for a paperless version. I also find it more satisfying & easier on my eyes to read an actual book instead of staring at a screen, burns my eyes after a while.

I think the quality of the photos is the difference between a create space Amazon, self-made book, and a professional book. I know that if the photos weren’t brilliant, I would be slightly disappointed. Just because your surroundings are what make nomad living so beautiful. Show the beauty express that beauty. Yes, the practical side is useful, but the practical side cannot be shown in beauty with poor grade photos. You are an awesome photographer show that be proud of that. None of us would buy a David Attenborough book skimpt out on the photos. I believe in you.

Camp is a little queen. That knows what he wants. If he doesn’t want breakfast then so be it. I’m so glad that pilot is having breakfast though, because German Shepherds are so prone to twisted stomachs. I miss my German Shepherd. He was called Dudley he was so friendly. He also challenged authority quite a lot. Had to stay on top of it, but he won so many awards. I’m glad to see that pilot doesn’t have those slanted hips. He looks like he is an amazing breed and is going to be an amazing dog. I wish I could afford to buy another. You will have the best decade with him.

A less expensive book will make it accessible to more people. Print quality will be good enough to get the information out. I think a more polished "Coffee Table" book like you mentioned is a great idea and could certainly cost more as it's more of a luxury item.

I love wearing just a band style ring. U can wear them on any finger because u don’t have to worry about the size of the setting. I usually wear them as a thumb ring. 🫶

Ahhhh the nightmare of figuring the pitch of a roof! I designed curbs and adapters for ac units on the roof and that pitch is critical..... DANG!! 32/12 WHOOOOOO Geez..... No you just tell them 32 over 12 is the pitch and they will plug it into AutoCad. The book is amazing! I have a book out also... it's such a FUN thing to do! Keep it affordable, our brains can readjust the photos! Keep the print LARGE for us visually challenged!

Keep font the same size, but increase the margins a little, and make the book the way YOU want to see it. If it’s more of a tool for us and you’re good with the $20 version, that’s perfect. I think the $20 book is affordable for most. Also, if you were to make a glossy hi quality coffee table book of some of your best photos I would pay top dollar.
I would say keep the book more like 20 bucks, it seems to fit the vibe of the book more. You wouldn't expect a book about nomads to be fancy so it just fits better I think
My husband has been in the printing industry for more than 40 years (last 15 years as a printing technology Instructor at a large institution). He responded to your question, Barron, about "what should you do about printing quality?" My husband's answer was,"It's in the paper quality, and it's not necessarily more expensive. You have to find a printer that is reputable. " Next thing, go to a technical school that teaches printing and ask the instructor if they would take your work as a school project for the students to learn. It makes learning more interesting when they have a real project.
Elsa, I was watching your video where you were going to place your piano. It's always been recommended to place a piano on an inside wall, never an outside wall. Placing it on an inside wall, it will be at room temperature. Placing on an outside wall it will be be subject to different wall temperatures and will cause it to go out of tune, especially being right there at your window and glass doors.
I vote for keeping the book affordable for more people. I follow other authors who release their books on their podcasts and I love that option for audio! It allows me to 'donate' to them and enjoy the book without paying for a audio book that I can't easily share with anyone else.

Thank you for your book! Just my 2 cents from an "older" fan... large print means I can see and read it. As you age, it's all about ease and customer service. The $20 price tag means I can purchase it from you. Both of you are beautiful people ... inside and out! I live through you vicariously, enjoying my ability to read and visualize you through my own lens/needs! Life is so good!

I like the $20.00 book with the less slick paper. Easier to write notes in the margins. Big margins are nice for that, too.

I'm 71. I got surgery for cataracts and still prefer large print. Be careful with the LED headlamps when looking at Pilot. The intensity of LED light can have long term adverse effects.

As a retired graphic designer and also someone who worked at a printing company for several years, I will give you some technical suggestions for your book. Don't go any smaller than 12 point type. 12 pt. is the standard (preferred) type size for large bodies of text. 14 pt. and over is reserved for things like chapter titles, etc.. That being said, header and footer type (top and bottom of each page - chapter name, page number, etc.) can go a little smaller because it is secondary information. But don't go any lower than maybe 10 pt.. Margins are proportional to the overall size of the book. Larger books should have wider margins. Your book size calls for margins that should be no leas than 1/2". A little wider, like 5/8" is even better. Keep in mind the thicker the book, the wider your inside margin needs to be, otherwise the text that is on the binding side of the page will get sucked into the binding gutter as you get closer to the pages in the middle of the book. Also, maybe ask your printer for standard book sizes that would give you the best cut out of a print sheet. They will know what you mean. This creates the least amount of waste. I cringe when I see people who create books that are square. Rarely is a book that is square, a good cut out of the paper. Good luck with this! Writing a book has been on my bucket list, but I don't have the discipline to do it, so I will live vicariously though you!

From the younger generation: I am 22 and am really feeling the recession we're in. With that, a $20 book is better than a $30 book. I want to support in any way I can. I was able to snag a ring (wandering) love that, I bought in memory of my hubs who just passed away and he is on a great wandering journey. If we had been your age or back in the day I could see us wandering. We did some of that while working all over US but we rented apts that to me was cheating......We did live in our van in CA for a summer so had a small sample of the lifestyle. When the grid goes down or people are off grid by choice - a hard copy book is a valuable tool!
We have been full time in an RV for 8 years.
The size of that book makes it easier to store and keep handy.
A coffee table book goes against our minimalist mindset, but I realize, not everyone here is into minimalism yet.

I want to buy one for every finger, I have a hard time finding rings that fit my thumbs but it is my favorite finger to wear a ring on :P Regarding Barron's book, I'm a little old-fashioned, or maybe just a little old, but I prefer the feel of a tangible book in my hands when I read. Also, if I want to reference something I read in a book, it's easier for me to whip out the book and turn to the page rather than get out my laptop and search for the book in whatever file it got saved in. So I'd definitely pay $30 for the hard copy rather than pay less for a paperless version. I also find it more satisfying & easier on my eyes to read an actual book instead of staring at a screen, burns my eyes after a while.

I think the quality of the photos is the difference between a create space Amazon, self-made book, and a professional book. I know that if the photos weren’t brilliant, I would be slightly disappointed. Just because your surroundings are what make nomad living so beautiful. Show the beauty express that beauty. Yes, the practical side is useful, but the practical side cannot be shown in beauty with poor grade photos. You are an awesome photographer show that be proud of that. None of us would buy a David Attenborough book skimpt out on the photos. I believe in you.

Baron, I like your book the way it is. The size is right for carrying around to read or storing on the bookshelf. The larger font is easier for people to read. Camp is a little queen. That knows what he wants. If he doesn’t want breakfast then so be it. I’m so glad that pilot is having breakfast though, because German Shepherds are so prone to twisted stomachs. I miss my German Shepherd. He was called Dudley he was so friendly. He also challenged authority quite a lot. Had to stay on top of it, but he won so many awards. I’m glad to see that pilot doesn’t have those slanted hips. He looks like he is an amazing breed and is going to be an amazing dog. I wish I could afford to buy another. You will have the best decade with him.

A less expensive book will make it accessible to more people. Print quality will be good enough to get the information out. I think a more polished "Coffee Table" book like you mentioned is a great idea and could certainly cost more as it's more of a luxury item.

I love wearing just a band style ring. U can wear them on any finger because u don’t have to worry about the size of the setting. I usually wear them as a thumb ring. 🫶

Ahhhh the nightmare of figuring the pitch of a roof! I designed curbs and adapters for ac units on the roof and that pitch is critical..... DANG!! 32/12 WHOOOOOO Geez..... No you just tell them 32 over 12 is the pitch and they will plug it into AutoCad. The book is amazing! I have a book out also... it's such a FUN thing to do! Keep it affordable, our brains can readjust the photos! Keep the print LARGE for us visually challenged!

Keep font the same size, but increase the margins a little, and make the book the way YOU want to see it. If it’s more of a tool for us and you’re good with the $20 version, that’s perfect.

I think the $20 book is affordable for most. Also, if you were to make a glossy hi quality coffee table book of some of your best photos I would pay top dollar.
I would say keep the book more like 20 bucks, it seems to fit the vibe of the book more. You wouldn't expect a book about nomads to be fancy so it just fits better I think
My husband has been in the printing industry for more than 40 years (last 15 years as a printing technology Instructor at a large institution). He responded to your question, Barron, about "what should you do about printing quality?" My husband's answer was,"It's in the paper quality, and it's not necessarily more expensive. You have to find a printer that is reputable. " Next thing, go to a technical school that teaches printing and ask the instructor if they would take your work as a school project for the students to learn. It makes learning more interesting when they have a real project.
Elsa, I was watching your video where you were going to place your piano. It's always been recommended to place a piano on an inside wall, never an outside wall. Placing it on an inside wall, it will be at room temperature. Placing on an outside wall it will be be subject to different wall temperatures and will cause it to go out of tune, especially being right there at your window and glass doors.
