- The French Armed Forces represent the military might of France. The military organisation comprises four distinct branches: the Army, the Navy, the Air and Space Force, and the National Gendarmerie. The National Guard functions as the reserve military unit of the French Armed Forces. In accordance with the provisions of France's constitution, the president of France assumes the role of commander-in-chief of the French military. France possesses the world's ninth highest defence budget and the second largest inside the European Union. Additionally, it possesses the most expansive military in terms of scale within the European Union. In 2021, the French Armed Forces have a total of 270,000 active personnel. The reserve personnel, which includes the National Gendarmerie, amounts to 63,700 individuals. This brings the overall number of personnel to 333,000, excluding the active personnel of the National Gendarmerie. The aggregate manpower of the French Armed Forces, including the active members of the National Gendarmerie, amounts to a formidable 435,000 individuals. According to a 2015 report by Credit Suisse, the French Armed Forces were classified as the sixth most formidable military in the world.

Not French but do concede that their military is top notch. My brother served in Afghanistan about 20 years ago and worked with French military units. He tells me that they were simply the best in combat. No Talibans facing them made it out alive.
France is the only one country in Europe able to build on its own: nuclear aircraft carrier, strategic nuclear submarines, nuclear attack submarines, frigates, amphibious assault ships, replenishment vessels, ICBMs, air-launched nuclear cruise missiles, omnirole carrier-capable fighter jet, attack helicopters, AA missiles, military satellites, MBTs, APCs, IFVs, 155mm SPGs.. Even the UK doesn't build: nuclear aircraft carrier (British are fuel powered), replenishment vessels (4 ships built in South Korea), ICBMs (US made Tridents), air-launched nuclear cruise missiles (none), omnirole carrier-capable fighter jet (US made F-35B), attack helicopters (US made Apache). French M51 ballistic missile carries six to ten independently targetable thermonuclear warheads, 110 kilotons each, 10,000+ km range, reentry at Mach 25, 150-200 metres accuracy.
To be frank though, the F35 uses Rolls Royce engines, but not exclusively though, while Italy is responsible for the electromagnetics. Its surely US made, but various parts and areas are European made and researched

then look at sweden. 10m population. building everything top tier even some things are best in the world.
Since a couple of days (last Eurosatory) the CAESAR became the most exported european artillery piece.
Probably one of the best, which has proven its capability in Ukraine, is CAESAR. A fast howitzer that saturates the enemy with fire while constantly changing position thanks to its great mobility, speed and shoot range.
Le CAESAR est un canon automoteur de 155.
Yep. Currently procured in 12 different militaries with 600 total units ordered and a little more than half delivered
It's main perk is that its fully integrated within Network Centric Warfare. It can acquire coordinates from other units and run the calculations while on the move, then deploy, fire, and leave within one to two minutes, avoiding counter-fire entirely, since already gone by the time its payload has been delivered
Israel and Sweden also made their own equivalent inspired from its design philosophy to fill the extra demand since it's so successful even France can't sustain all orders, trading some mobility and operating speed for extra armor
With the VAB, its one of the most successful ground based export of the French Military Complex

You forgot to mention the ASMP-A missile, which is a pre-strategic nuclear missile, imo MUCH MORE terrifying than most stuff listed here considering the French nuclear engagement doctrine.
Don't forget the Rubis-class and Barracuda-class Nuclear Ship Submersibles (SSN).
Absolutely right, Suffren-class (project Barracuda) are brand new and top notch, they are replacing the Rubis
And "Jaguar" armoured reco vehicule, CEASAR 155mm gun, "Griffon" armoured vehicule for transport inf....
The French make beautiful hardware.
The Rafale is my favorite, beautiful and deadly
thank you, but "armée de terre" (top left of your video) literaly means "Ground army", as well as the logo associated.

not really accurate, what about mamba air defense system who are much modern than the old crotale.

Hello 👋👋👋
The three French 'Mistrals' are pretty good small LPD/Hs and we Brits should really build two similar albeit modestly larger amphibious assault ships of our own design (though unlike the Mistrals, also able to operate fixed wing STOVL aircraft like F35-B). Both to complement our two far bigger QE Class fleet carriers and the two Albion Class LPDs. While reducing the six projected multirole support ships (MRSS) down to three.
Though there's nothing else of much interest in France's little defence boutique, alas.
the vanity of the English.. jajajaja..
Don't forget what an Exocet does to the British fleet...
@@obimic You mean what early model Exocet did in 1982.... much to the joy of our dear NATO ally, France? Quite! Now, however, in the age of Sea Viper and Sea Ceptor, plus far better gun based CIWS, I doubt even latest model Exocets would get anywhere near a UK battle group.
Even so, it's nice to see French priorities and outlooks are so 'constant' and for our part, I accept it's only honest to admit British policy apropos our post-Nelsonian and Wellingtonian association with France, has hardly ever been ideal. Snapshots of especially salient periods (1914 - 18 and 1939 - 45, for instance) spring immediately to mind. So yes, Monsieur. We British have usually erred very much in our approach to your nation and indeed, in retrospect it's clear that only once w.r.t. any episode in modern history did we do EXACTLY the right thing by France.
IE; In 1870 - 71.
Accordingly, as a patriotic but now much chastened and wiser Brit, I can only hope that in future we will be able to take these historical lessons to heart and so always re-apply the same wise policy in the decades ahead...
je vous en prie, Monsieur, d'agréer l'expression de mes sentiments le plus distingués
The frigate in the video the italian version, not the french one
You mean the ONE that is worth value! The one the DoD in USA messed up!
They are the same Frigates the only difference is that the French ones are adapted to travel all the oceans while the Italian ones generally only go out to the Mediterranean.
Only 25% components are in commun. The french frigate has less missiles launchers, only one canon, a different radar... ruclips.net/video/CGpT0hCrf1o/видео.htmlsi=_6zKW_bUzPlG5FEK

Amusing section on the "SCALP" MISSILE where we're told FRANCE is just the 3rd country after the US and Russia to develop missiles of the type. Slightly puzzling really, and not least as the item in question, shown in pictures, is actually known as "STORM SHADOW/SCALP" The first part being the BRITISH name for it as in fact it's the result of a JOINT project.. (though we BRITISH don't get a mention here🤣). Which is rather handy, really. As t.b.h, we should under no circumstances accept France as a partner in any more bilateral or multilateral projects, anyway.
you're absolutely right.
Joint projects with the English are guaranteed failures.
Ditto with the Germans, where we know it's going to be a pain in the ass. Or the incompetence of Spain.
In fact, France doesn't need any allies to develop the best military technologies...
A Chinese woman with bad pronunciation is laying semi-random words about weaponry. LOL E.g. about the tank: 1) What exactly is an armour that can be "moved around"? Did you mean modular armour? LOL 2) What is defense "against explosive blocks" on the side? Do you mean reactive armour against ATGM? Hehehehe.
The pronunciation is also very funny. English is bad enough but now French? Saying Rafale almost made you break your tongue.
Oh and did I mention the factual errors? Like how the hell can SCALP have a range over 1000 km? More like 550 and 250 for the Ukraine export version.
Hey, where is the white flag?

No problème with that ! It's French ! Not American !!!......... The smell of your defeat in Afghanistan still sticks to your skin !!!.... 😅😅🤣🤣🤣🤣

your mum smells worse though, is that because she works the streets?
And they make excellent white flags😂
France is 11th strongest military? I would put them based on technology and quality higher than that.
Yeah, easily 4th or 5, in terms of operational readiness and capabilities, far higher than Britain.
@@corentinbm9091 lol no way the UK is far higher than france and im not british, Uk tech is far superior to france and the UK has been in far more battles and is battle ready france is not. you could see this in the latest war games in the EU, the UK kicked frances butt.
