So... Once upon a studio clearly said '' Look we still can make good 2d animation like the golden days... But we won't doing it! ''
I'd be bored if they always did same things tbh
@@sorubitten perhaps but the golden era of Disney was when Disney was making 2d movies so.. If they want to play with the nostalgia, they should do 2d instead.
@@sorubittenthey have been doing the same thing since 2013
They must bring back the two dees.
@@sorubitten dude 2d animation is way better than 3d animation will EVER be. You're bugging.
Disney they should bring back direct to videos films
Agree 👍 A lot of people like direct to video release format
Perhaps we treated them to harshly (especially Bambi 2, Fox in the hound 2, and lion king 2)
They should not bring it back but honestly why not make a prequel lion king animated film with the same runtime. It’s not like we came to watch the 2019 Lion king because it was performed by real lions and practical effects.
This tactic was switched for straight to streaming
Most of them were horrible outside of the goofy movie movies
It’s not a problem with digital animation but with the way Disney makes it. ‘Dinosaur’ is an example that you can make a digital animated animals that have visible facial animations
Also The Wild
And Narnia too with Aslan @sorubitten
And Guardians of Ga'Hoole (Super underrated animation btw, and made by the people who made Happy Feet and The Lego Movie!)
@@echidna7970 yes considering the movies were made in 2003-2005, 2006-2008 and 2009-2010, Aslan is amazing CGI as were the fauns and satyrs and dryads and minotaurs and wolves, much better than the live action lion king
@@elokin300 Yesss, I love it so much, thank you for mentioning :) I'm happy people remember them. HF is one of golden favourites of mine too.
dangg i wish this was a better 2d quality movie for me ngl
Soon❤
? I'm confused
0:37 got that Disney renaissance art style so well! It looks so authentic!
That's Kiara
2D looks much better than live action
I'm 16, and I first watched the original Lion King & The Lion King 2 when I was 10 years old. I loved it, and I memorized every song in both movies,
and bought a Simba and Nala plushie (big ones) when I was 10 as well, at that mini Disney store at the Fox Hills mall (they got rid of it T_T).
My favorite songs were "I Just Can't Wait To Be King", "Be Prepared", "Can You Feel The Love Tonight", "We Are One", "My Lullaby", "One Of Us", and "Upendi".
When the 2019 Lion King live action movie came out, 12 year old me was excited to see the movie---The movie I absolutely loved, now realistic!
So I asked my mom to go to the movies, and since my younger sister didn't like bloody stuff (she thought there would be blood because the animals were realistic),
My mom and her just walked around the mall while my 2 younger brothers and my grandma were watching the live action with me. (we watched the 3D version, so we had glasses).
I was disappointed. When I was about to prepare to sing "Be Prepared" it wasn't even a song. It was a SPEECH. On top of that, the characters are expressionless in the live action.
I was so heavily disappointed. They should've just done a cinematic re-release of the original...Smh.
When I was about 12, they actually did do a cinematic re-release. This was in about 2014 I think. The 20 year anniversary of the first movie.
@@KiyoshoArt I know there was a re-release, I'm saying they should be ANOTHER re-release. Like, right now, in 2024, for it's 30th anniversary.
Even if I have my doubts about the concept, I would totally watch this 2D one!
I like how the 2d art of this had more life and emotion than the cgi one😭
Although we hope that Disney will make hand-drawn films again, it will unfortunately remain just a dream, because Disney has completely forgotten what they should be doing, i.e. the magic of hand-drawn films, which ended when they moved to 3D films, they are no longer interested in anything but money and fast production for example, it takes a lot of time to make a hand-drawn movie, like the first Lion King took four years. Then Disney doesn't put any effort into the story of the characters, they make the worst scripts and especially for the bad guys, then there's the fact that all the time there have to be movies so child-friendly that you can't even see:
-A small drop of blood.
-The death of the hero or enemy.
-Things that make sense.
-Powerful and emotional music.
-Scary moments.
-Fights.
-Strong emotions.
-Monsters.
-True love.
-Memorable wisdoms.
-Seeing the truth.
-Witty humor.
-Adrenaline filled scenes.
-Appropriately darkness gloomy and mysterious.
-Lessons.
And a lot of other things that Disney doesn't do to their movies that is completely absurd. But don't get me wrong, I really wish Disney would go back to hand drawn movies and bring back the previously mentioned things to their movies.
Like wise classic hand drawing animated movie
Yeah, exactly 💯
@@SBNEnter thank
Agreed, you can barely tell the difference between the lions. Also they advertise the movie as “live action” and I say that in quotations because it’s just CGI. It’s still animation. I bet someone will deepfake the trailer to give it more life…
It's very impressive for CGI, I'd confuse them for real lions. Also this is better than making animals act, you know it doesn't always end well when people make animals do things for entertainment...
@@sorubittenCGI is difficult but they don’t look or move much like real lions: take the shot at 0:29. That wide stance is odd and unnatural, and not really how real lions move
Classic hand-drawn is much better than cgi live action. Just as we wanted, you're amazing.
They aren't in my opinions cgi live action animals I was well entertained by. In a way I kinda hated the lion king 1994 version and loves the 2019 Lion king just for having Photographic realisitc cgi talkative animals.
you can make beautiful cgi (not live action because it's not live being) but disney rushes everything and doesn't want to improve.
I always imagined a prequel of Mufasa and Scar but in animated form. I got my wish but not not the way i wanted it. Wish it was in animated form
Im currently doing a self study on hand drawn animation and want to make my work out of it, love it to see that other people still feel the same love for it ❤
I wish we would have gotten a 2D animated film instead
I wish you're right 🙏
I can't tell if its Mufasa or Simba in the cgi versions
It would be so beautiful to see it animated in 2D and then use modern technology to make it into 3D. Perhaps something similar to what the creators of Into the Spiderverse did.
It’s such a missed opportunity to have it 2D animated or at least have the animation look close to the 2D to make it feel like it’s canon to the original, of the original Masasa that we know and love.
But Sadly they want to have it realistic and have it canon to the life action cause it made a lot of money.
Let me mind y’all that this is supposedly telling the grand story of the same musasa who got killed off by a B*slap lol.
And because of the lack of emotion accompanied with a more half assed version of James(no offense to him), it’s much harder to be attached in any way with this version of musasa
Unironically if they made a 2D animated Mufasa movie with the original team and cutting-edge 2D techniques, people would watch it.
I think it could work with computer animation if they stick to cartoon style the photo real look doesn't work.
Honestly, traditional animation might still get a come back
Awesomeness!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊
I have always liked 2d animation
I would pay to see the movie in 2D animation hey!!
Even if the story wasnt that good just the animation alone would make this so much more worth watching would’ve loved to see this
The problem is that I don't even know who is who in the original trailer, so 2d would have been SO much better!
Young Rafiki, Mufasa, Taka, Sarabi, Kiros, and Zazu
At least they gave mufasa more expressions in the cgi version than the other one
I love him was a cub
Mufasa in the thumbnail be like: URR RA
I want to watch animated
Me too
@@adriangarcia543I don't want animated 2d animals. I want cgi realistic action speaking animals!
@@SapphirePlainssame here! I have autism and prefer the realistic versions more. It drives me nuts to see barking hyenas. I enjoy the nature documentary look a lot more and yes you CAN see emotion on their face with subtle body language
I think mufasa as a cub shouldve looked more like kion
The expressions and visuals are slightly better like that scene. Young Mufasa was on the log the expression looked way better.
People haven’t forgotten 2d animation, that’s why anime is still strong to this day
WOW, THESE LOOK SO GOOD!!!
Good luck to make it animated.
78,000th view!
Good! Now come up with an original brand new score! Whats i personally loved about the 1994 version is the music 🎶. Disney hasn't done shit as far as music goes for decades.
Whoever made those drawings, I’m the owner and ceo of skyfall studio productions. Hit me up
I can make this movie hand drawn
It would be great 👍
disney would shut that down so fast 💀
@@Jacks0NZ so real
I can't wait for the movie to come out🦁
Watching mufasssa for Kira , because she's my favorite lioness from the lion king Simba's pride.
Sameee, it's my girl
I agree the cartoon was way better
Totally
💯 Agree!
i am very excited to see a brand-new lion king movie, but i wish it was 2d animated
the thing is disney has the resources to make good looking 3d animation on their animal characters but clearly does not take the time or care to do so. they focused too much on realism in the first movie, and instead of changing what people criticized they just did the same thing again, maybe a little more expressive. My biggest issue is that... you cant even tell who these characters are most of the time, especially in that scene with sarabi and mufasa, if that even was them. that is what made the lion king great too, the character designs are distinct and you can tell who is who. im just seeing two lions run around in some ice cave, not mufasa and sarabi.
Nice done video of reimagined of trailer, there few studio still do 2d animal, there cartoon saloon studio, and others.
Thank you for crediting the authors!
The one praise ill give this is that these cgi lions DO have more personality and expressions than the other live action lion king movie they made.
My question is how tf are lions in an icy place Is that a thing i don't know about
There coming out with a movie about Mufasa he my favorite character and I know why he strong and gentle he cares about his pride and puts others first so excited for it
I wouldn't mind 3D. we could have some cool experiment movie like Klaus that had 2D look 3D or if you look at ellejart's version of "live action" lion king. That would've look so much better. The LA lion is soulless so of course the prequel is going to fail the same way. Why do they think it's gonna work the second time
Disney is doing a much better lion movie since The Wild
seria muito melhor se o filme fosse assim em desenho
I'm excited to see Mufasa's origin story, but I wish it was in 2D
They need to bring back hand drawn animation. Once Upon A Studio proved that they can still do it. They just don’t want to.
If they did it like Guardians of the owls I would like it
I want to watch your version
Subscribed 😊
Thanks 😊
Then it wouldn't be a "live action" anymore.
But yea they rlly need to go back to 2d
I MISS THE OLD GOOD DISNEY!!! 😭💔
I love to see some prequels considering the lion king, with its own fans and fandoms, would be surprised surely how pride rocks actually came to be. However, 2d animation needs to be brought back. Colors are way cooler :(
Sad story of Mufasa and Scar...
Years ago they were brothers.
it's crazy how they still haven't learned from the criticism about the facial expressions and body language. Even Godzilla X Kong's stupid kaijus show more feelings.
We'll see if Disney learns from its mistakes
I can’t see the images if you are showing me another video that you want me to watch. Why does RUclips keep doing this?
Doing what?
clicked on this thinking someone actually reanimated the whole thing
It would be amazing.
2d animation is not less profitable. Lots of people want 2d back, and it is only seen as less profitable by the higer ups of the entertainment industry
lol I drew some of these also 😂 not the ones shown in the video but I did join this lol
Cool
I have watched your works. Amazing 👏
@@SBNEnter wait you saw them?
Yes
0:37 the realistic looks better
How fucking hard is this that RUclipsrs can do this?
It's not hard at all 😀
@@SBNEnter exactly so why is Disney still doing this? There are literally 100s of 2D animators on RUclips and yet Disney won't pick up a single one
2D animation is less profitable than cgi films.
@@SBNEnter tell that to the last few films that Disney made that bombed.
Disney's classic remakes made a lot of money. Especially 2019 The Lion King
Yea they definitely should of went with animation, if the remake didn't do well why would you make another 3d verison of the lion king. I do want to hear the story but honestly think 2d animation would of done it well seeing that the first two lion king films were pretty well at expressing themselves and It to the point that even real life animals would sob to it.
The remake didn't do well? What are you talking about? The remake hit a box office record. It made 1.6 billion dollars with a 250 million dollar budget.
@@syzorst it lacked the emotion the original did and im not shocked it hit box office cause most love lion king so of course they going to go see the movie. It not really how well they did in box office but it more of how the characters were portrayed and how things were handle and the pacing of it and honestly that mufasa death was terrible, it was pretty much watching a stuff animal fall off your bed.
@bancetheyorkshireterrier2003 I find it interesting people complaining about the animals being "expressionless" in The Lion King yet I didn't see this much complaining about The Jungle Book 2016 remake.
@@syzorst honestly the jungle book was not bad, the kid who played mowgli was amazing and i had no problem with the animals either. The difference between lion king and the jungle book was just lion king felt emotionless or at least you don't feel the same as you do when you watch the original cause the pacing and somewhat of the scenes weren't as impactful as they try to show. The jungle book gave that fear of this kid about to get killed by a tiger and those scenes felt more impactful. You feel the tension the fear, especially with king Louie and shere khan scenes but that just my opinion
@bancetheyorkshireterrier2003 Everything you just said doesn't change the fact the animals in the Jungle Book had the same "expressionless" faces just like The Lion King. The Lion King is beloved because of it's story. Fans has wanted a Mufasa movie for years and when we finally get it, the first thing people complain is the expressionless faces. Again, I see many people like you complain about it and say it should be 2D animation but never say the same regarding the Jungle Book.
Bring back 2D
Kion s
Grandfather
I got a feeling like this movies going to contain dozens of exaggerated facial expressions to combat the criticisms of the “live action” reboot, having the most stale realistic depictions of iconic scenes from the animated classic.
At the end of the day, nobody wanted a Mufasa movie. They want enjoyable original content with new fresh ideas, animated as beautifully and uniquely as possible.
I'm confused so it's going to be a short or whole movie?
Full-lengh feature film
@@SBNEnter oh okeh
Who cares about facial expression anyway, even though they technically didn’t have it in this one it looks like
Why have you removed peoples signatures of their art?? I know ArtworkbyJems has her logo on his paw and it’s gone??
I find these arts without a logo. Also, I credited all the artists the description.
@@SBNEnter The adult mufasa one on the rock has a watermark on his paw but it’s gone on your video 🤷🏼♀️
@@SBNEnterWhy remove my comment? If you didn't remove the watermarks then you wouldn't have removed my comment 👍
Anyway all artists are aware...or why not just post the original pieces with all watermarks??
@@Midge2006 I find it without a logo.
@@SBNEnter Where about?? She only has that instagram account and her art isn't posted anywhere else
How it should have looked
That's right
Yep instead the gave us a natural geography movie about lions
Es mejor así que live acción
👍 💯
Traditional animation less profitable..... Anime has entered the chat.
Really nice of you to to ERASE the names of artists who made that fanart and post it without asking !😡 tag the artist in bio, since you have time to ERASE THE SIGNATURES on the drawings……!
All artists are credited in description
There's no way to beat the classic art style, realistic CGI is just boring and generic while the og is iconic and the characters look recognizable.
Why can't we have nice things Disney?! Y'all can make 2D movies!
Props to the artist, they did a great job with these
Nah it ain’t that they have less expression it’s just that you people can’t read how actual animals show feelings. It’s not that hard
Why haven’t you done the decent thing and repost this with the watermarked artworks and with permission of said artists???
There is nothing wrong with this one. Besides, many people discovered these artists thanks to this video.
@SBNEnter ....Doesn't matter what other people think, you should not be reposting art without the artists permission....
Agree to disagree
He credited them in the description so he’s safe and it’s not anything you’re assuming. As long as he credited them and advertised their work he’s good. It’s not a big deal whatsoever so read the description of the video before checking someone in the comments.
I was disappointed when they were gonna make this live action and not cartoon, they should have made this cartoon in order to make this movie more memorable.
Yeah. I miss classic hand-drawn animation 😢
Disney just sqeezing the Lion king franchise
Off topic but, why does the person speaking sound like someone I heard in somebody's Sonic Unleashed gameplay when I was a child? Lol.
I have no idea :)
Make more videos like this for other Disney live-action movies.
Theyre pretty but the black shading hurts
I feel like if you’re going to make a prequel to a movie you should stick with the original art style
I know they don’t have the 2D people anymore, but it would be better if they dropped “live action” (or photo realism CGI as anyone else calls it) and use more stylistic cartoonish 3D as used by Puss in boots or even in Despicable Me and Migration.
Their CGI is just so dead and soulless.
Did Disney learn nothing ?
Cgi movies bring in more money with less production time than 2d animated.
I prefer 2D animation, but I cannot ignore the fact that even the CGI version could be great if they'd just let go of this lifeless taxidermy-style and give the characters actual expressions. Lions don't smile, yeah, but they don't speak nor sing, so what's the point of this hyper realistic nonsense anyway? Just look at Aslan from The Cronicles of Narnia, even the model of the first movie beats the lions of TLK remake imo and it was made more than 2 decades earlier.
Bruh why not make 2D version? It would be w masterpiece held dearly by generations of TLK lovers. The CGI thing will just be a forgetful, single-watch experience with, very possibly, many facepalms and disappointment 😢
I want computer graphic for mufasa not the 2d cartoon animation and seriously I loved the Live Action disney remake of the Lion King, the lion king 2019. I loved that version the animals were so expressive I was really entertained by Seth Rogen Pumbaa, Donald Glover Simba, Billy Eicher Timon and Scar Chiwetel
Traditional 2D animation >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 3D CGI/ live action.
Unpopular opinion but I like the 2019 lion king better then the hand drawn animation
You're right. It's unpopular opinion.
its an unpopular opinion for a reason
I love both! They both have a ton of talent and effort.
Same! I love it a lot more.
bring back 2d animation IT HAS BETTER FACIAL EXPRESSIONS AND MORE PRETTY BRO IM SO MAD
much better as animation and not some fucked up live action
"2D animated"... it's not even animated.
It's digital 2d animated
This shit didn't deserve animated version
Maybe you're right. But I would like to watch it
The facial expressions just don’t work with the realistic animation. What’s wrong with hand drawn, Disney? People watch cartoons for fantasy, not reality
