Hey can if I'm in direct sunlight can I spray the car down to cool it then foam and keep foaming it for the whole minute I let it dwell and then rinse?
16 months ago I found a nice 2012 White Toyota Tacoma with 52k miles. It was a well cared for Fleet Truck. Then a direct hit from Hurricane Ida and our vehicles had to sit outside while my garage would become our “lifeboat” for the next 10 months while our damaged home was being repaired. Moving back into the house made room for our vehicles to get back inside the garage. The white truck took a real beating from the heat, humidity, acid rain, industrial fallout, Saharan Dust , bugs and bird poop etc. It looked like a mildewed “Dalmatian”. It took me 6 days of work but using Josh’s Suggestions, techniques, and product recommendations and it really came out better than I could ever have imagined it. It looked like a new car off the lot (well as new as a 2012 could possibly be). Thanks Josh for being such a good teacher! 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Thanks for the good review on this product. I have a black Nissan 370Z that has had a three-stage polishing and a coating that shows every bit of dirt and contamination on the clearcoat. I've been using this prewash in an Ik 12 pro pump sprayer with a 4% solution in distilled water @ 60 psi. It gives a great layer of foam that does an excellent job of cleaning the surfaces of the car. I do follow up with a hand wash with Gyeon Bathe+ to help maintain the hydrophobicity. The last step, after a garden hose rinse is a distilled water rinse through another pump sprayer and then a blow dry with an Ego electric leaf blower. Using this routine, I've been able to do maintenance washes for the last 5 years without adding any scratches, spider marks or swirls. Every 6 months I do a decontamination wash with Gyeon Iron on the wheels and lower body panels and then a hand wash with Gyeon Restart. After that, I then reapply a silicon sealant with Optimum's Hyperseal. The car still repels water like mad and I'm very happy with the results. I'm a big fan of Gyeon products because they do work, exactly as advertised.
Fantastic video as always. I tried some of this stuff and was impressed, but of course this got me wondering which "Pre Wash" soap could be used as a touchless wash? Would love to see a comparison like you did for all the soaps used in foam cannons. Bilt Hambers many soaps, Wash Chems Pro 50/100, Zep Truck'N'Trailer, Chem X Stars and stripes and any others out there.
Got some of this to try based on your video/review. Tried it on my wife's daily driver which is parked outdoors. It's a new car that I applied a graphene coating (Adam's Advanced) to the day it came home from the dealer. This was it's first wash after being outdoors for 3+ weeks and it came out very good. Great foam with your version of the MJCC foam canon. I used DI water for the wash and rinse and didn't dry. Tried this today, i normally use Adam's Mega Foam and it works ok but not amazing. This wash definitely looks and feels cleaner. My thing though is the areas behind the wheels where wet road water created those annoying black spots I'd say are 80% cleaner, still there but light colored. The tail gate is maybe 85% cleaner. Those black spots seems like they're impossible to get without a hand wash, and this SUV sucks up air and dirt onto the tailgate a mile down the road after a full wash. Impossible to keep the back end truly clean, but you do need to get up close on the tail gate to really see it which is nice. The rest of the car though from the paint, windows, wheels, and tires are easily 90-95% clean. It looks great in those areas.

Hey Josh can you look into the formula 4 spray wax? Apparently it’s good to avoid water spotting when washing without DI water or under the sun. There’s just not enough reviews out there. Thank you!!
I’ve used it before. It’s okay. I wasn’t impressed though. I operate out of Florida so I wasn’t expecting the product to work phenomenally. There are other products out there that give much more water beading.
@@willdamian1066 I mean unless you're using a DI system the only ways to prevent water spotting is to first of all make sure your drying towel is clean, your wash bucket has clean water in it, and you're drying it really fast. That's really it. Down here in Florida, it doesn't really matter what you spray onto the vehicle as a bead maker, the water is going to evaporate so quick. Most of the time in dead summer, one side of the vehicle will be dry by the time I even get around to the other side.

SUPER IMPORTANT QUESTION, I know you have a gravity fed setup, but I’m using a water pump on my setup that shoots 30gpm, is that too much water going into a 1800psi ryobi? I turn on the pump then let water go through the pressure washer and through my hose reel, and then I turn on the pressure washer but it gets SUPER loud and doesn’t stop so I have to turn off the pressure washer. If I had to guess it has something to do with the gpm going into the pressure washer right, I just wanted to ask if you know the max gpm for water going into pressure washers or if 30gpm is just way too much, thanks!
I'm ready to see more foam cannon soaps compared! Especially now that your camera work has gotten a lot better. On some of your old "best foam cannon soap" videos, it was super hard to even see the demonstration. There's a lot of soaps you haven't tried yet, at least on video (Superior Image Maxi-Foam, Auto Fanatic 007 Snow Storm, etc.) that would be great to see compete.
Haha mee too. Yea those older videos were done when it was getting dark out some the video quality was effected, Im planning on doing more soap comparisons soon!
I’m not getting that affect with this product for some reason. I dilute as directed. I’m using the MJJC VS3 foam cannon. I sprayed on the vehicle. Let it sit for a minute then rinse off. But the car still had a lot of dirt on the vehicle. So I had to contact wash it. Maybe I have too high of an expectation? I was expecting it to pretty much make all dirt rinse right off. SOS
he let it sit on there 3 minutes, i wouldnt do it on a warm day unless cars not been in the sun and has a cool surface. If you have a performance car with a hot engine dont let it warm up or your hood and fenders will be warmed up and you'll get water spots.
I dont think you should. The autoglym kit is pretty good to use or the others. Slightly make it damp, use a APC or convertible fabric cleaner and scrub lightly with a mid bristle brush, dry it and use a protector. Anything with wax or snow foam could maybe damage and make more work for yourself in terms of drying.
As a pre wash, I found Griots Surface Wash, to be easier to rinse, with the same cleaning power. Griots smells better, and is $7 less for 1000ml. At 1:5 or 1:10 vs. 2oz Griots, I’m not seeing the value.
DI resin. To make your di canisters last longer get a rodi unit for fish tank dial in how much gpd you’ll need get a container to store the water install float valve. Perfect reverse osmosis deionized water 100% pure water no chance for contamination or water spots, but if you don’t want to deal with all that just keep the car wet stay out of hot sun and dry quickly w leaf blower twist loop micro fiber drying towel you won’t get water spots.
Chem-X is the truck wash. Stars and Stripes is his touch less wash products and he has snake oil which is a spray on sio2 coating type thing. It honestly looks like it works great but who knows what pressure he's using. Just found out 2500 psi at 4GPM!!!! That's fucking nuts!!
I use Stars and Stripes as well as the Snake Oil sealant. I’m just a DIYer but I am impressed with it so far. Wouldn’t mind seeing a review on it here.
Their website Q&A for the Stars and Stripes says not a problem, it’s within the pH tolerance of ceramic coatings. The Snake Oil is a ceramic sealant but I don’t do it every wash. It seems to hold up well.
Thats right Chem X! I would think it works very well, but they do mention to rinse thoroughly with a high psi pressure wash and stay 6-12" from the surface. I typically use 900-1200psi so so im not sure if thats high enough. My pressure washer has a ton of flow (gpm) so im sure it would be great but just something to note. Also the first product that goes on they do mention it can cause streaking on polished aluminum so you probably need to work pretty fast. This Gyeon product does it all in one and comes off the panel as neutral.
Yea, if there is a tone of heavy dirt you can do a prerinse to knock off any thick muddy spots but otherwise just foam it up, let dwell, rinse, and dry
Dawn is great at stripping, but it does have micro abrasives in it and can cause dulling over time. BUT, if youre using it as a touch less option i wonder if its that bad becuase you wouldnt be rubbing any of the abrasives on the paint... I might have to try and test that
It can, They state it is safe for coated vehicles. My work truck was coated about 5 years ago and this stuff helped to cut through everything on top of it that was effecting the hydrophobic properties.
Hey Josh! Great video! I picked up the Portland pressure washer and it works great with the accessories it came with. I replaced the hose, nozzle with swivel and got the adaptor like you suggested but now… there’s no pressure? No leaks anywhere any ideas??? Thank you!

Have you (or anyone here) tried rinseless as a pre wash? I tried once and it worked well, but I'm very much interested in everyone else's opinions/ideas on its usability as a pre wash and the viability of it
I use ONR blue at a 128:1 mix ratio and apply it with a pump sprayer to my Opticoat Pro+ coated black car. It works well to help remove any loose dirt, dissolve chemical deposits and soften up contaminants. Its high lubricity helps to prevent micro scratching when I hit it with a pressure rinse. I also fortify the hand wash detergent solution at 256:1 with the ONR to minimize contact friction with my wash mitt.
That sounds like a lot, did you figure it out?
Yea I just made a gravity fed setup too lol
Can you do a video on how to wash your car at a diy car wash place?
How many ml of gyeon foam you add for 1000lm of water
Really depends on the pressure washer set up but a safe number would be 3-4 oz
I'm ready to see more foam cannon soaps compared! Especially now that your camera work has gotten a lot better. On some of your old "best foam cannon soap" videos, it was super hard to even see the demonstration. There's a lot of soaps you haven't tried yet, at least on video (Superior Image Maxi-Foam, Auto Fanatic 007 Snow Storm, etc.) that would be great to see compete.
Haha mee too. Yea those older videos were done when it was getting dark out some the video quality was effected, Im planning on doing more soap comparisons soon!
Do you rinse the car first? Or apply the foam to a dry car?
you can do either but to get the most out of the experience i say rinse it first imo
How should you wash a convertible with a soft top with a foam canon?
I dont think you should. The autoglym kit is pretty good to use or the others. Slightly make it damp, use a APC or convertible fabric cleaner and scrub lightly with a mid bristle brush, dry it and use a protector. Anything with wax or snow foam could maybe damage and make more work for yourself in terms of drying.
As a pre wash, I found Griots Surface Wash, to be easier to rinse, with the same cleaning power. Griots smells better, and is $7 less for 1000ml.
At 1:5 or 1:10 vs. 2oz Griots, I’m not seeing the value.
Nice, thanks Josh 👍😁
You probably covered it before, but how are you getting spotless water againv
@@05cgm is it safe on ceramic coatings?
Good to know Josh. Thank you!
Typically just foam on rinse off?
Yea, if there is a tone of heavy dirt you can do a prerinse to knock off any thick muddy spots but otherwise just foam it up, let dwell, rinse, and dry
FYI... Of the soaps you mention in the beginning, which brands are made in the USA?
I like Dawn soap myself.
Dawn is great at stripping, but it does have micro abrasives in it and can cause dulling over time. BUT, if youre using it as a touch less option i wonder if its that bad becuase you wouldnt be rubbing any of the abrasives on the paint... I might have to try and test that
I assume this can't be done on a ceramic coated vehicle, right?
It can, They state it is safe for coated vehicles. My work truck was coated about 5 years ago and this stuff helped to cut through everything on top of it that was effecting the hydrophobic properties.
Hey Josh! Great video! I picked up the Portland pressure washer and it works great with the accessories it came with.
I replaced the hose, nozzle with swivel and got the adaptor like you suggested but now… there’s no pressure? No leaks anywhere any ideas??? Thank you!
Hey josh, I want to get the mjjc, I use the sticky snowball chemical guys foam that’s supposed to get me a good amount of foam, my pressure washer claims to be 2000psi 1.2hgpm, I think my pressure washer is the reason why I don’t get enough foam, what pressure washer do you use and recommend for good foam? Preferably electric
Angel wax fast foam
Ph neutral soap is for beginners
They are great for contact washing though because they typically have high levels on lubrication.
Just use super clean
Is Super Clean pH neutral?
@@hartlanddetailer5670 no but tons of people use it or other apc in a foam cannon diluted correctly or in a spray bottle all around the car it melts everything off than spray off I learned it from stay slick auto detail here on RUclips
This has worked well for me in not inducing any scratches or swirls in my very highly polished black car
I was curious about using rinseless as prewash. Wonder if it would work on a vehicle that has not been wash for some time and without any protection.
@@dipsg2965 I think that would be an excellent idea.
Great video
touch free car wash is like saying touch free ass wiping. lmao
I'm always trying to find a truly touch less wash method.
This worked a lot better than i was expecting honestly
I’d like to see it on an rv
Hmm, i wonder how that would work. Since they are fiberglass i wonder if it would have a different result
does this strip wax or flex wax off the car?
🏆
Thanks
Why don't you try it on a dirty car and not one thats relatively clean.
You have almost mención start and stripes in this video 😂 is a real touchless wash but nobody wants to talk about it Everybody wanna keep that secret weapon from themselves
Too bad you didnt have a black car to do this test
