Are y’all leaders or nah? I feel that he learned a huge lesson during this meeting. He was combative because he knows this message is powerful.
Not a complete fan of Umar but he is correct. Our people’s commitment to our community is not there once we get to a certain level. He is right about Deon..
Individual accolades from our “idols” like athletes and entertainers are always prioritized over the commitment to the growth of our community. Sad we defend “idols” more than a man risking his life by just speaking on the REAL issues in America to this magnitude
@@michaelmitchell8239 Yeah, because supremacy is not a global thing. And yes the worst sick deviants, degenerates thugs, gangsters, slavers, genocidal maniacs are after him, you know the same people who genocide more than 350 million black people.
Those comments regarding colorist discrimination in the classroom are on point! As a retired teacher I was guilty😒 Once I reflected on my bias between favoring lighter over darker skinned children and favoring boys over girls I stopped the bias. The comments about black familial colorist and ability bias are accurate. We are a deeply, hurting race😕
The hosts logic is so flawed 😫 Intellectual incompatibility at its finest. Staying in your respective, purposeful lane is so underrated. Dr Umar, the black community NEEDS you. This generation and future generations NEED you. The babies I plan to birth need you fighting for their equality and rightful place in this earth. I support you, black king!! Power to the people ✊🏾
Damn, Dr. Umar got a serious melanin drip, skin kissed by the sun. How can you not love being black?? Black power!!! This was a dope, well, balanced conversation; it was greatly appreciated.
Some ppl are on here talking about reparations. What is the sense of reparations if the mindset is still enslaved? We gonna just go back to invest into the building of our oppressors. A mind that is liberated is one that cannot be manipulated, it stands on its beliefs and focuses on its goals and thats what Dr Umar is trying to help us to do. Our main goal should be to preserve our kind just as others always do. Dont let them or the Stockholm mindset criminalize it when we do it.

I don't know anything about Big Loom. This showed up in my feed because of Dr. Umar Johnson. I'm ar 42:20 mark. This Loom guy appears to be High first, of all. He can't stay on point even though I saw several opportunities in Dr. Umar's flaws. Deion went to Colorado for only his reasons...to be relevant, his sons careers, and money 💰. Loon can't see past the weight around his neck and the cap on his head.
@@hamaraholt8896 Bro could’ve kept that to himself!! That’s embarrassing to have a masters degree and have the speaking ability of a high school dropout….
I understand what Dr. Umar was talking about in reference to Deon. He could have stayed at the HBCU even though it is a white power structure and had an opportunity to draw more black students to Jackson and eventually other HBCUs that are getting shut down or have low student attendance like Morris Brown in Atlanta, that could eventually produce successfully black students who inspire to open their own black schools or other businesses in their own black communities, with their own black money.
I HATE straw man arguments that are irrelevant to the discussion. First point dr.umar makes is how he lives for the people and his actions reflect that. This interviewer is arguing the semantics of living for the people, and therefore completely diminishing the quality of the message of living for the people. When you are put into a position to help thousands of black people and you do not, you’re actively not living for the people. Taking care of yourself while you live for the people is INHERENT! One cannot provide for the community if they are not provided for. So this interviewer pointing out such an innocuous example of dr umar providing for self by mentioning his living situation not being in the school he’s building (???????) IN NO WAY parallels to a black person who ONLY considers themselves and their financial gains when put into influential positions. That’s like trying to accuse someone of brushing their teeth, as having ocd. People with that disorder could be prone to practicing hygienic practices as a means of control. The two are completely irrelevant. You can brush your teeth without having ocd. Just like you can take care of yourself without completely abandoning your power to influence and change the black community for the better. I already know the rest of the words coming out of this interviewers mouth will come from a place of ego and the need to battle versus legitimate thought and COMPREHENSION! Unfortunately comprehension skills continue to lack and decline within the black community.
To put it plainly, Deion sanders chose to only help his family and his children despite the fact that he was in a position to help thousands upon thousands of black lives and families by conducting good business at a black facility. This capitalistic way of thinking is the reason why black people are not progressing. No one said Deion and dr umar need to be homeless in order to live for the people. What kind of dumb unnecessarily distracting argument is that? No. Living for the people PROPERLY includes taking care of yourself at the base level. I’m sure mlk had a nice home, places to sleep, food to eat, and a nice fit to wear while advocating and doing actionable things for the black community. Deion sanders was able to properly take care of himself while in the position to work at a black college. He wasn’t homeless and unable to eat while working at a black college. In fact his economic position reflected a well off person with everything necessary and even enriching to live off of. But INSTEAD of staying in that influential AND SELF ENRICHING position, he chose to work at a white college where he will continue be able to take care of himself, THE ONLY DIFFERENCE NOW is that he is taking care of himself, having gained a large personal profit, and is only enriching white people’s lives. No black lives and communities are enriched now because he has removed his business from them. THAT is the point. His large profits and gains are exclusively for him and his, “me and mines”, and NO ONE ELSE. Which is the OPPOSITE of the community based thinking we need to progress black lives. That’s exactly why black people cannot progress under these unintelligible behaviors. One person making it to the top of the mountain and lifting up another person to be there with them is way more efficient for those people, than one person making it to the top and basking in their glory, and ignoring helping the other person to the top. We need to work as a unit, not reach heights in singularity, if we want to see black progress on a community scale. Problem is, I truly don’t think many modern black people, such as this interviewer, want to see that. If he truly did, he wouldn’t completely miss this point.
@@itsuptherepodcastI was mad when I wrote this comment. I stand by my comment although I don’t think you used enough comprehension with that first point umar made. However I don’t you’re unintelligent as a whole. But I do believe that you did not handle that first point with enough thought, consideration, and humility. I do believe your ego interrupted your ability to receive and understand the point. Hats off to having a master’s degree but that doesn’t make you intelligent in all subjects to ever exist. No one is intelligent in all subjects to ever exist, and I do wanna double down with that point and say that no matter the certifications and qualifications umar holds, he is not the most intelligent to ever exist. I stand by comment but retract any language that may have suggested you’re not intelligent as a whole, because that isn’t true. I do stand by the idea that you are misinformed in part. But sometimes what blocks the reception of information isn’t even our ability to be “smart” but rather our ego.

Dr Umar speaks a lot of truth that people will eventually see when it’s too late. He is risked his life by telling as it is. In today’s society of cancel culture, it’s very rare. I agree with him education is the greatest equalizer.
Dr. Umar: Makes a factual data driven statement that is true. The Host: ….Yeah, I understand that but I “FEEL” as though… 😮 This isn’t an emotional discussion. The host’s composure went downhill from there. Making direct personal attacks and laughing at the audience clapping. 22:26
I don’t think I’m guilty of living vicariously through my child, but I did tell him how proud I was of him for doing things that I didn’t have the courage to do like play sports and be in different committees.
Big Loon, you really gotta work on your ego! You can never be too old to be taught something…Dr. Umar deserves a certain level of respect PUBLICLY and you didn’t give him that. You spent most of the interview trying to prove to your audience that you know what you’re doing. We know that, but this is a learning situation from an EXPERT in these topics.
The “Can’t” conversation was sending meeeeee. We can sit here and talk about the problem, but something has to be DONE in order to fix it. The one who caused the issue is not going to come back to fix it. Let’s be honest. ITS UP TO US TO FIX IT, on the macro or micro level. Stop pointing fingers, AND LETS GET IT. If you are the man, and your job as the man in the house is to provide and protect, “can’t” should not be in your vocabulary. You get faced with an obstacle, you make a will and a way, no matter how long or what it takes. You exhaust every single solution possible because the house depends on YOU. Yes, things are hard, and the cards dealt suck, but you have to persevere no matter what. Your feelings are valid, but we have to keep moving.

I taught her how to make money by having her to do bake sales every year since she was in kindergarten to develop how to make money, manage money and how to save money how to budget money. I taught her the importance of cooking ,cleaning and laundry. As a result of always communicating she is now in Law School on a scholarship. My daughter got accepted into Columbia Law in New York, Duke University, USC University, Berkeley Law,UC San Diego, UC Davis and so on… My daughter is the first black woman in the family to attend Law School.l said all of this to say if we take time without kids and guide them regardless of our situation we can create better children for a better tomorrow.

An a-political person which I definitely respect. Much love to and for him.
AWESOME, AWESOME.. Very educational, informative, and just positive energy. As a Hispanic man, I truly agree that "BLACKS" need to unite; if not, their DOOMED. Nothing will change for the better, but get worse..
This host was a hater and could not step out of his ego. The whole time it seemed as if he wanted to check Dr Umar instead of understand what he was saying. Too much focus on the crowd clapping and childish ad hominems
Great interview Loon! You knocked this one out the park. I love how you pushed back on a lot of ideas Dr. Umar was expressing, we need that type of healthy dialogue in the community where we can throw different ideas at each other & there not be any bad blood. Just brothers having a conversation. Thank you for a great interview, you got my sub.
I listening to the podcasts and dissect it and Dr. UMAR is right with the Self hate as Black community..We have to learn to be unapologetic black. The law of nature is Self-preservation ..that's what we as Black community need to understand!
Black is a white man term and on top of that AA don't know a damn thing about being black since y'all were raised in American culture far distinguished from Africa unlike the state of Louisiana and other Caribbean countries outside of that.

He snapped when he said y’all cannot want women to submit to you & respect you like a god then turn around talking about how you can’t do this or that (referring to trying to help young black boys become quality black men) unless you’re getting some instant gratification out of it 1:52:04 . Y’all can walk & chew gum
Their push back is not surprising. It tracks.

This was a great meeting. Did the host receive what he needed? Dr. Umar dropped a lot of wisdom & knowledge. The host made a few immature comments in reference to comparing our elders & ancestors. I feel that he learned a huge lesson during this meeting. He was combative because he knows this message is powerful.
Not a complete fan of Umar but he is correct. Our people’s commitment to our community is not there once we get to a certain level. He is right about Deon..

Deion went to Colorado for only his reasons...to be relevant, his sons careers, and money 💰. Loon can't see past the weight around his neck and the cap on his head.

@hamaraholt8896 😂😂😂
There's a lot of empty vessels with degrees.
Umar is right. They knew he'd draw more black talent. They dangled more $ and he left. That's how they control most of us. $ and acceptance.

@@itsuptherepodcast I think Loon did a great job showing the other "mindset" we have as people. Dialogue is always needed..Great interview
