    I love how this cosmic event united humanity today! For a few hours, we all forgot about our differences and just looked up at the sky with special equipment to witness a spectacular eclipse! In the grand, cosmic scheme of things, our differences are absolutely meaningless!

    A poor nation even doesn't have super speed train across the country. People have to drive for a long time to get to places.

    I remember seeing an eclipse when I was a kid and there was no such an excitement, why has a solar eclipse become like a rock concert? People screaming and clapping like the Sun and Moon give a shit about them.
    Why has it become the Great American eclipse, did you do it, organize it or contributed in any way to make it happen?
    I understand being excited about such a rare event but the point here is that maybe many of these people are also denigrating and disbelieving the same scientist that forecasted the eclipse and prefer to believe a lot of internet blog bullshit pseudoscience because this days it's all about excitement and show business. Sad!

    • @JessicaIsOkay
      @JessicaIsOkay 7 лет назад +2

      Its a big deal because its the first solar eclipse in 38 years, and the first one to stretch from coast to coast in 99 years. For millions of people this is the first solar eclipse they have every experienced, and its really the first one to occur in the modern age of technology.

    • @Nivola1953
      @Nivola1953 7 лет назад

      Jessica Justice i understand the exceptionality of the event, what I find out of order is the hype, there have been solar eclipses before everywhere many times and I am pretty sure none was given this media treatment, this is close to a solar cult totally out of proportion.
      This exactly the point, the Eclipse is not the astronomical event at the center of attention, it just the media hype to create the mass response without it this would have been dismissed as "science stuff" and I bet many of the enthusiasts that travelled for hours are the same people that disparage the scientists, the same category that forecasted the eclipse, and prefer to believe the pseudoscience bullshit of Internet blogs.
      I would be excited if this enthusiasm was the indication of a rediscovery of science, sadly it's just the opposite it's trivialization and sensationalism at all cost. Anyway I really hope you enjoyed this natural show for it's immense beauty and power and I hope you were stimulated to know more about it and science in general
