The behind the scenes history is as epic and turbulent as the show itself. The fact that Doctor Who even reached 1989 is a miracle. The drama then makes Chibnall’s controversies look like a playground fight.

I think "Shada" is the most made of any unmade story in the history of television.

The Tearing Of The Veil sounds like the best Doctor Who story we never got to see. Victorian gothica blended with silly humour is what makes the fourth doctors era so special and one of my personal favourites.

It’s really odd that most of the Season 17 lost stories sound far better than the Season 17 we finally got.

I thought season 17 was 4's 2nd best season after 14, the worst one was Destiny of the Daleks and that one isn't even that bad (when their not calling the Daleks robots anyways)

i think the showrunner Moffat missed a trick by not asking the Addams Estate to make the college where 12 was teaching St. Cedd's College, Cambridge instead of St. Luke's

I like how the Doctor just pulls out a fucking medal and awards it to Romana but she never wears it again... I guess Gallifreyans who reach the rank of Time Lords have some authority to give awards?

The idea of the Doctor appearing in the real world was a concept in an episode I found really interesting in Supernatural, involving Sam and Dean entering our world where they're actors of a show called Supernatural, and it even features the production crew acting as themselves. Although I wouldn't be surprised if other sci-fi shows have explored this concept also

@@magoo9866 It’s a long running UK sitcom, with a cult following around the world. They tried making a US version a couple of times but never successfully. It’s well worth watching, especially the first six seasons.

I knew it that show had a mess going on in the late 70's and something that would continue throught the whole 80's decade surprisely the show only was thought to be cancelled in 1986, there really was a lot of issues in the Dr. Who in these days you can make a whole full iceberg on this topic...

I wish that the Doctor's prison in Revolution was Shada and have the Doctor have Salyavin as the Doctors cellmate perhaps Salyavin being a previous time lord who bore the title of the Doctor before the Doctor with the Ruth Doctor being an earlier incarnation of Salyavin.

Have you ever thought of doing a collab review video with the RUclipsr legal eagle with doctor who season 23 trial of the time lords because It would be cool to hear what you think along with someone coming at this season with a legal stand point after all that season mostly takes place in a courtroom.

The Tearing of the Veil sounds like it would have been amazing. I wish we could have seen the Fourth Doctor aged and acting like Scrooge, and the poltergeist ripping K9 apart.
Oh, and they should definitely do a 'Doctor appearing in the real world' narrative on TV at some point. It's an amazing idea that could give the current lead actor a lot to play with.

I would not say Shada is closed because Shada dvd they could do better no new k9 scenes or Chronoitis scenes becuse those actors are dead. and replacement scenes looked rubbish and the picture is in 4:3 and shada is a movie. Shada was a 6-Parter. No mention of The Doomsday Contract recently made by Big Finish. and Meglos seems out of place, State of Decay was a replacement. The writers of Meglos went on to write another in place of Castrovalva with a character called Ranwek. Anagrams play a big part in Doctor Who at this time.

What always gets me is how some of the Big wigs in the production end could look at the huge success of Bakers 4th Doctor, with companions like Sarah Jane, Leela and for me the first Romana. There was a great mix of outer space stories and victorian age set Hammer Horror style episodes that were all winners. To then decide to alter this format getting rid of the better companions for a crew of quarreling idiots, then to cap it off got rid of Baker and brought in Davison. Of the three who followed Tom Baker he was without a doubt the best, but he started out with a long, annoying stretch of bumbling, crazy moments before finally settling in as a firmer more in charge kind of Doctor. Dumping him for Colin Bakers Doctor made absolutely no sense. I've heard it said this was an intentional attempt to lower the quality and ruin the show. When he made an appearance during the previous season as a guard officer on Gallifrey he did a pretty good job but almost from the first moment his crazy, belligerent persona was not worth watching. The character of Perri was played by a gorgeous, sexy woman but trying to make her an American never worked. His attempt to kill her made no sense and his bad attitude in general piled on top of a number of poor to plain bad scripts made it impossible to salvage the show. Worst of all was the outfit. I would have quit if they told me I was to dress like that and ruin a classic show. Finally the totally rediculous mess of a buffoon that was number 7 Sylvester McCoys doctor is beyond bad. Ace was an annoying teenager and the short cowardly McCoy reminded me of the short cowardly Troughton. Sadly the Fenric episode was actually half decent but no thanks to McCoy, but at least he toned down his outfit. Years later Christopher Eccleston bearing more resemblance to the best of Pertwee and Tom Bakers characters revives the show with a bang and add to it the wonderful Rose Tyler. David Tennant followed with much of Ecclestons darker style but added more romance. Matt Smith continued the new era but added a bit more humor. Finally Peter Capaldi ended the new era with a grown up fatherly figure. I say he ended the new era because the mess of things that Chibnall made ( I don't blame Jodie Whittaker) signal a whole different alternate reality of who. Hopefully soon they will return to our universe once more. Having the example of Tom Bakers seven season run and the new eras success should be the guides to use to create a successful show not the crap Chibnall foisted on us
