@electrodacus these videos are aimed at exactly those people.... non-religious, science-minded people with a streak of polymath and want to learn a bit about everything (including the most famous book in history) people like me. I don't mind dislikes or negative comments. That's RUclips! True we will get a pounding from those who knee-jerk at the sight of the word "Jesus" or "Bible" - but I care about the silent majority who have a look and maybe find it informative?
@bibledex well said. esp the "knee jerks" and "silent majority". I was getting a bit worried for the state of affairs, till you reminded me about that silent majority :) ps - someone (client) at work the other day was trying to tell me how to do my job. irritating, to put it mildly. so kudos ;)
@deemzje If u mean when was it divided into chapter and verse, the last vid Brady did covers this. If its not on the top right of yr screen when u come here, just search for "chapter and verse - Bibledex Verses" hope thats helpful :)
@bibledex Spot on Brady, thanks for all your work! Greetings from a silent science-minded person with a streak of polymath (finally I know what to call myself).
Thankyou so much Brady, and all the scholars who contribute their time and effort in putting these together. And I meant what I said the other day - these vids are a bastion of informed, rational, reasonable, agenda free neutrality in the vast youtube ocean of the polar opposite, which is to say, irrational, emotive, uninformed, extremist intolerance & nonsense, from both camps. Jesuz Wept... :D Bibledex is such a rare breath of fresh air here.
@RBIVscreamtherequiem Everything is debatable. Question everything. That is what scholars have been doing for thousands of years. If you don't debate anything or only somethings, you can't really have a good understanding or someone could just be pulling your chain. The only advice I gave was "Take a breath and think about what you post. Cursing does not help rational conversational debates." The other parts to my post were rhetorical questions. I followed my advice by thinking before posting.
@electrodacus It's a little presumptuous to assume that just because a person enjoys science videos like Periodic et al, that they automatically hate discussions on the Bible (or any other religious text). It's also fairly arrogant to believe that a discipline that can only tell you who, what, when, where and how, but not why has all the answers for mankind. Here's a question to ask yourself: What is the evolutionary purpose of religion?
@RBIVscreamtherequiem I cap locked to get Brady's attention more easily. I didn't call anyone names or purposefully try to insult them. Nor did I tell someone to be tolerant while also saying shut up. I am not doing anything to provoke or insight terror; therefore, I'm not a terrorist. Did you do exactly what you told me to do: have tolerance, let others have their own beliefs, and be rational. Take a breath and think about what you post. Cursing does not help rational conversational debates.
@DeepAbsentia I can see why lol, Chomsky said something really similar in that movie. But it didn't sound quite the same for some reason (probably because of the information surrounding it) It was a very interesting watch, thank you for informing me ^_^ ~Jkun~
@noitnettaattention Dude, if you are actually a religious person, throughout history, your entire religion has basically said that humanity is the centre of everything. And yet the Earth is a MINISCULE part of the universe.
@jeebersjumpincryst The agenda is to inform people about the Bible and its content. Because this video is all positive talk about the topic and not even the thought of it being written by man to influence other men, this is not neutral. This seems to be just the facts but only of the assumed: the people with faith in the Bible being 100% accurate. This is neither fair nor balanced. It is not fair to call it neutral.
@CRISNCHIPS12398 ah put that way if you like, anyways i don't find anything right or wrong about it to argue over its "importance" its just drives not only me but a lots of people crazy when out of blue someone decides to call Bible fairy tale or non scientific or something else....21 century right, you expect people to show more dept in knowledge and understanding, but suddenly there is more primitiveness and ignorance than ever before...just 100 years ago people would be happy to have...
... glad to see you defend your position as a Top Comment. Almost brought a tear. A difficult thing it is to brush aside the ignorant horde of humanity and bring some humanity to its maker.
@noitnettaattention a half of the half of tech advances we have now... but noo we choose to argue over a things so simple to watch and see standing in height of times with full knowledge of most of things.... you know it is very scientific method to proof something if you can disproof it , (you can do it more and more deeply than Darwin ever could) so don't limit yourself start fro beginning of Bible and see you can backup your proof with disproof it with solid and checked theory, i couldn't!!
@ofpfury oh no! the sooner everyone lets go of imaginary friends, the sooner us obsessed, vehemently anti-religious folk will lose our number 1 hobby - running strawmwen thru with our razor sharp, clever, witty rhetoric! Do we not value that pastime too much to lose...? We will have no one to feel superior to!
@mrteemumilto wooow have you seen atheist face? i mean can you distinguish bloodthirsty billion year old Dracula like creatures called atheists? pleaeeese enlighten us with it....
this is such a waste of time =.= (at this point in time) Why dont people think about the things that are really important to us right now? There is so much disrespect towards all those who've suffered in their lives, and are still suffering today. Why are we so easily distracted from the real problems of our world? ''All of you, including me. Are guilty of something that is worse than all the cruelty in the world...'' ~Jkun~

The videos coming out of Nottingham are fantastic. I watched this because of periodic videos. Very interesting, even to an atheist!
this is seriously good. Thanks, Brady, for this and for the science videos you work on.

John 11:35 reads, "edakrusen o IhsouV"
1 Thessalonians 5:16 reads, "Pantote cairete"
Thankyou so much Brady, and all the scholars who contribute their time and effort in putting these together.

@sevenheadedweasel I don't mind if you don't "like" it, but I hope you liked it!?
@electrodacus "Fantasy and fairy tales"? Can you be any more deliberately insulting and spiteful towards those who do not think the same way you do?
This is about half way through John when his friend Lazarus dies. He raises Lazarus shortly thereafter.
@jeebersjumpincryst Thanks. They omit the Ammonian Sections, the Euthalian Apparatus and Andreas's Divisions.
So, when were Bible verses invented? Or were they original?
Just thinking of the oldest majuscule manuscripts here.
Is the first chap in this video related to one of the stargazing types in Nottingham?
@sinprelic so did you pass the test? be careful he will strike you with thunders...

The sooner everyone can let go of their imaginary friends, the quicker we can concentrate on things that matter, like reality.
