Versus Series: Savage Opress VS Jaden Korr

- Kicking off Versus Series Season 7 by pitting the Older Brother of Darth Maul against the Finest Student of Kyle Katarn!
I do NOT own the movie footage used in this. Star Wars is owned by Lucasfilm, Disney, and Fox.
Without even watching.
Jaden took on multiple force users pumped up in similar ways to Savage. I'm gonna go with the one trained by Kyle and Luke
to be honest savage never was properly trained by any of is master compare it with jaden who was trained.
@Zandris Hugal your on drugs dude. Jaden Korr defeated marka Ragnos muh dude.
he also defeated Tavion (then got possessed by Marka Ragnos), Rosh Penin, the Vothos Twins and faced boba Fett.
@Zandris Hugal the only reason oppress killed Gallia was because of his sheer physical power, when he charged at her with his horns as a mindless raging monster he is; and, as shown by her and kenobi, maul, and sidius, as well as that random jedi, he is weak against hand to hand combat. also, sidius was toying with him, and plo koon only lost when he was distracted and had his mast taken from him by savage. and dooku noted him as being sloppy. Yes, savage has skill and is certainly to be respected for whatever he has achieved, but his story would have been a lot shorter than it was under different circumstances
@Zandris Hugal Prior to the events of the books, Jaden was offered the rank of Master, but he declined since he didn't consider himself ready.
Using Opress' "fight" with Sidious already shows that you have no real arguments. Sidious was toying with him. He was literally side stepping all of Opress' attacks while laughing his ass off.
Beating Marka Ragnos already blows anything Opress did away. Ignoring the fact that Jaden had barely few months of formal training under his belt, he did this after cutting his way through scores of Disciples of Ragnos. What's more, the fight took place on Korriban, a powerful dark side nexus, which means that Jaden was not at his best when fighting Ragnos, while Ragnos himself was amped.
@@kirillzakharov7336 "the only reason Opress killed Gallia was because of his sheer physical power" you say that like it undermines the feat of killing a council member? It doesn't. His sheer power being able to overpower her skill is a great feat. Also, you say he's bad at hand to hand combat? I don't know if you mean actual hand to hand or lightsaber combat. If you mean hand to hand, than no, by no means is he bad at hand to hand combat. If you mean lightsaber combat, he is still not bad. Being able to keep up with Obi Wan, Anakin, etc. Is honestly really impressive, considering the fact that he hasn't actually had any real training with it. He also has no problem deflecting blaster bolts. And his force power is absolutely insane, he managed to force choke both Asajj Ventress AND Count Dooku at the same time and they had no defense against it. Now you can make the excuse that they were caught off guard, which I completely disagree with because there is no way Dooku is caught off guard that easily, but even if that is the case, he ALSO put both Anakin and Obi Wan on their asses when he dueled them for the first time, and there's no excuses for that one because they were clearly on guard. He also kept up with Palpatine, which I know Palps was toying with him, but it's still impressive, maybe only slightly but still.
Jaden says hello
Savage threatens to kill Jaden
Savage ceases to live
Jaden goes home and cracks open a cold brew with Kyle
yes, but no
Jaden>Darth sidious
Let the Season begin! Just wanted to say thank you for all the support regarding this video's delay issues. You guys really are the best! :)
I like your vids alot.thank you.you are awsome i mean it
Hey great to see you back!! Loved the breakdowns in the video but I'd love to see another narration type ending 🙏🙏🙏
Isn’t the winner a bit obvious
While I do agree with your veredikt I just think that everyone underrestimates savage skill in a lightsaber duel cuase the only true defaets opress have faced is agents opponets in the highest teir in lightsaber combat and sorry if my english is bad english isen't my mother languesh
Kyle Katarn vs Obi-Wan Kenobi
For this D&D fans out there, this is what you can call this battle. Level 5 Berserker Barbarian vs. Level 15 Eldritch knight Fighter.
lmao
Ehhhh argue level 8 for the fact savage lasted againist level 20 wizard palpatine.

Darn it Evan, I was just about to go to sleep. Why you gotta do this to me?
There is no sleep. There is only the Force.
EvanNova95 Fair enough. Good video by the way. I thought it would be a much less even matchup in favor of Jaden, but you’ve managed to review Savage’s feats in a balanced way which I can agree with overall.
@@EvanNova95 that, that is why people fall to the dark side
Jaden is awesome! The EU is just so awesome for picking up his character and expanding it with good novels.
i had no idea there were comics with jaden in them thats crazy, loved jedi academy a lot
@Wes Bradley-Taubner If I did the sequel trilogy it would have been based on JKA.
Love that you're including Jaden Korr in a versus; he's criminally overlooked.
1:51-2:02, I mean, we know it resisted blaster-fire, and from the look of it, where Kenobi amputated Savage, that very well could have been located in a gap in the armor... so I at least have no issue with the notion that his armor, specifically the spots where it protected him, was indeed lightsaber-resistant. That said, I don't think it was anywhere near comparable to cortosis or beskar in its degree of resistance to lightsabers.
2:58, great find!
You've improved so much since you first began, especially with your sourcing. It's super appreciated.
18:22, to be fair, while you make a solid point that Ragnos indeed had centuries of experience over Korr, it's also worth noting that Ragnos hadn't physically wielded a weapon in thousands of years, so... needless to say, he'd have been rusty AF. XD
While Korr's feat of besting a Ragnos-possessed-Tavion is of course impressive no matter how you slice it, it's nowhere near as impressive as it appears on a surface-glance. I've seen people use that fight and its outcome to try to diminish Ragnos, but when factoring in all the circumstances, it's clearly more impressive of Korr than embarrassing for Ragnos, what with Ragnos likely being as rusty as he was, and not being able to draw upon anywhere near the amount of power he would have possessed in his prime.
While I ultimately think it wouldn't affect the outcome in either lightsaber dueling or the overall verdict, I think Jaden's missing fingers would be a small detriment specifically when defending against power blows.
34:43, it's important to note however that against Ventress and Dooku, they were both distracted, and Savage had a rage-amp going for him. Against Anakin and Kenobi directly following, the prior wasn't the case, but the latter still was.
When did Savage breach Maul's Force defenses? Ah, in that one pic from the comic. Gotcha. Pretty sure Maul wasn't defending against Savage though, and, like Ventress and Dooku, was caught off-guard there.
42:45, since when is exploding corpses into "a shower of bone and dried flesh" "atomizing"? I'd liken this feat more accurately to be a slightly-diet version of a pre-prime Bane exploding dozens of technobeasts, or Vader exploding lyleks, whose thick carapaces were resistant to blaster-fire, with TK.
Aside from most of my above nitpickings, this may be one of your best videos. Props!
Just when I thought I was going to get some sleep tonight, this bad boy pops up... Season 7 is looking very promising so far.
Forklifter? Haven't seen you here before. What up?
@@anonymousbee4163 Oh, I've always enjoyed Evan's videos. I just dont always have the time to socialize in the comment section :)
Really would love to see a VS battle Involving Ben Skywalker. Easily one of my favorite EU characters and would certainly be a capable contender for plenty of battles. Keep up the good work Evan, extremely happy to have you back.
Or at least Anakin Solo as well. No reason not to.
Pheonix exalt did ahsoka tano (rebels) vs ben skywalker. I highly recommended it
I wasn't sure how this match would go when I first clicked on it. On one hand, Savage could have basically freight-trained his way through Jaden like he did with Adi Gallia, while on the other hand Jaden could have outmaneuvered and outplayed Savage in a similar manner that Sidious did (though without all the dark-side craziness). Suffice to say, I'm very happy with the outcome and a great video as usual.
Very intresting video as always Evan, Love your videos! This season will without a doubt be as great as the rest! Keep doing what you do, and may the force be with you.
Speaking of visual presentation, I loved these spear that Savage Opress used initially. It really broke up the monotony of the lightsaber.
Man I love these videos. Been watching them for years. Well done!
My prediction: Savage will take the edge in physicality & (possibly) weaponry, but Jaden Korr mops the floor with him via edges in martial arts & force abilities. LET THE SEASON COMMENCE!!!!
Hey Evan can we see Mandalorian war era Jedi Knight Revan against Ruusan/Thought Bomb era, Lord Hoth? Two of the greatest battlefield tacticians we've seen among Force users, the chess match of lightsaber duels.
I think you mean Ruusan, not Russian.

Thank you.
It's been way to long my friend, I'm glad you're back in business
I was wondering when a new video was going to come out, thank you so much! I look forward to more of your work!
Some requests for future verses vids:
Ulic Qel-Droma vs Plo Koon
Exar Kun vs Darth Krayt
Malgus vs Dooku
Asajj Ventress vs Satele Shan
Darth Maul vs Kyle Katarn
Lumiya vs Qui Gon
Sora Bulq vs Darth Nihl
Satele Shan vs Shaak Ti
Saba Sebatyne vs anybody
Jax Pavan vs Ferus Olin
Kir Kanos vs Alpha 17
Kir Kanos vs Jango Fett
Han and Chewbacca vs Dengar and Bossk
Great vid by the way! I’m glad to see that you’re back and making vids again
Koon
Kun
Malgus
Satele
Katarn
Lumiya
Nihl
Satele
Dengar and Bossk.
Katie Delaney I would personally say Ventress over Satele and Dooku over Malgus
1. Plo Koon by the skin of his teeth.
2. If this is pre-resurrection (Vector) Krayt, then Kun. If this is post-resurrected Krayt, then he stomps (he's literally on par with Palpatine).
3. Malgus
4. Shan stomps with her Force Powers, after foregoing her lightsaber.
5. Katarn, after getting annoyed with Mauls resilience and stomps him with the Force.
6. Lumiya.
7. Nihl plays shadow tag, like Tholme, only more aggressive, and ambushes Bulq.
8. Shan stomps with the Force, because she gets tired of Ti's hit and run tactics.
9. Pavan, as a fully trained Knight, wins but Olin makes him work for it.
Dont care about the rest....
Koon. More varied and proactive force wielder.
Krayt in an asspull.
Jensaarai1 did that.
Shan stomps if GM. Even as a Jedi Knight, she can catch lightsabers and destroy 1/3 or so of a mountain.
Kyle.
Lumiya whips Jinn to death.
Bulq is more skilled +expereinced, Nihl is more underhanded. idk right now.
Shan if GM. Force power Dif is ridiculous.
Jax probably. Can deflect laser beams, and has time manipulation.
Kir Kanos because he is more badass.
Kir Kanos
idk.
Rob George i could legitimately argue that ventress would beat Satele. She’s a better duelist by a solid margin and is atleast somewhat comparable in the force. And her aggressive fighting style wouldn’t allow Satele to rev up her Tk attacks. As for the mountain feat, she was amped by the energy she absorbed when she used Tutaminis on Malgus’s saber
Honestly, I have a feeling that Jaden Korr would take the win but after more explanation on Savage Opress with his physical, martial, and force capabilities I was questioning there if Opress could really beat Jaden. I had no idea that he was stronger than Maul in the force either. The guy has raw talent but he hasn't had many years to hone it and relies too much on what worked for him in the past. When he gets angry also he does get sloppy but when his telekinesis is unleashed he does cause some damage. Sometimes the matches you do I judge is one sided but they aren't as one sided as I thought.
I’ve been following your channel for years. I’m making a Star Wars the clone wars republic commando fan film. Thanks for breaking down savage oppress for me. I’ll be sure to thank you in the credits.
I do agree that Savage does use a Juyo influenced version of Shii-cho in his personal style.
Jaden was one of my favourite characters from Legends.
And I finished jedi academy 3 times after I graduated from high school. Good times
I also think you have improved your videos in as a whole taking from source material and good conclusion based on it for your verdict and assessment of each characters capabilities, This was very interesting match up i listened to the whole video and was impressed i hope in the future you can do team battles ( i know they can be a headache to do) BEST VIDEO OF YOURS I HAVE SEEN, I WAS HAPPY TO WATCH IT, THANK YOU EVAN.
Good to be back with a new season
Just came back to this channel after two years, good to see your still posting : D
Congrats on the new season Evan. I very much agree with your assessment of both characters here. Can't wait for more. Hope you or the other Fanalysis council members do:
1) Mara Jade vs. Shaak Ti
2) Lumiya vs. Nomi Sunrider
3) Corran Horn vs. Yareal Poof
4) Darth Krayt vs. Exar Kun
5) Ferus Olin vs. Zayne Carrick
6) Aurra Sing(Legends) vs. Ventress(Dark Disciple)
7) Rahm Kota vs. Even Piell
These look interesting:
1) Mara. Her alternative disciplines, sidearms, and force abilities should beat out Shaak Ti. Quite close though.
2) idk. Lumiya can whip Nomi to death but Nomi stomps as force wielder. Probably Nomi because Sever Force=hax.
3) Horn is the superior duelist and can deal with illusions but Poof has some solid hax. For example, Poof uses combustion to literally burn Horn to death.
4) Have discussed this many times. Darth Krayt in an asspull if this is post resurrection Krayt. IF Vong Infested Krayt then Kun.
5) Zayne. He has supernatural luck/probability manipulation which is top tier hax.
6) Not touching. Hate Dark Disciple
7) idk.
Jade in a close fight via broader array of tools and greater Force power.
Nomi stomps via Force sever, if she doesn't Lumiya tears her to pieces.
Weird matchup, I kinda like it. Leaning Corran on the basis of his lightsaber skills but Poof's got some fairly hax abilities in his arsenal.
Skip.
Olin holds a commanding skill advantage but Zayne's probability manipulation could make that moot.
Leaning Kota personally, Piell's short stature and lack of reach is a pretty big liability against opponents that can compete with his skill.
It's about time you're back been a long time but so glad you brought this back
funny enough i'm named Jaden and i only clicked because i see a star wars character named jaden
He's from Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. Arguably the best Star Wars game in term of saber combat.

I think a Kyle Katarn vs Darth Vader would be interesting
@@Jensaarai1 And we're waiting ^^
Maciek Ciepły I think that both Kyle and Vader are evenly matched as duelists, but I’d say Vader would win because of his slightly greater tactical outlook, though he wouldn’t win easily
@@Jensaarai1 Im still waiting for the promised day.
Alex Ryan Vader, no contest
The Logic God it wouldn’t be an easy victory given what we’ve seen Kyle accomplished
Excellent Analysis! Will we ever see the Imperial Knights from Legacy in Versus series? Antares Draco, Ganner Krieg, Sigel Dare?
12:28 "speaking of arms" nice pun there Evan.
Great Video and matchup as always.
Also I would love to see Darth Caedus Vs
Darth Plagueis and Mace Windu Vs Kyle Katarn
Very close fight, I'm leaning Caedus.
Mace wrecks Kyle.
Plagueis
Windu
Go back and forth on this one but leaning on Caedus. Alt weaponry and appears to be a better swordsman should overcome Plague's physical advantage.
Windu but Kyle puts up a solid fight.
Caedus but good fight and Windu but again good fight
Galen Marek vs Jaden Korr: two warriors powerful in the force that operate a general purpose combatants who utilize multiple complimentary styles to exploit an opponent’s weakness instead of emphasizing their own personal strengths. Aside from Sora Bulq or Wolf Sazen, this is the match I desperately want for Marek as these two are as similar as they are different and happen to be my favorite characters of their respective lifetimes.
Great video! Always good to see nuance given to characters like these, given they're so often sensationalized to be more than they are, or otherwise completely dismissed. One thing, though, regarding Jaden's feat against Ragnos...I can't help but wonder whether lightsaber duelling is like many other martial arts, wherein people who were dominant 100, 50, even 10 years ago would be outclassed today because the study moves just that fast. I don't think it's unseeable that what qualified as a master duellist in Ragnos' time might be something that a prodigious talent with the NJO's knowledge base to pull from could pick up much more quickly. It's not that he's doing something he shouldn't be able to do--it's that the art REALLY matured with time.
A couple requests: Plo Koon v. Jerec, Darth Caedus v. Darth Malgus, and Jedi Purge A'Sharad Hett v. Vindican.
Rewatching this video again, I noticed in the clip showing him sparring with Dooku, it looks like Savage is using the Outer Ring of Defence, you’ll notice how he holds the blade matches Corran Horn’s description of the style in I, Jedi. Couple that with Savage’s consistent flat footed manoeuvres and wide sweeps he favours leads me to believe that he was an instinctual practitioner of the Strong style rather than one specifically trained in that style. The closest analogue I can compare him to martially is Bane during the early days of his lightsaber training, when Kas’im observed him practicing the basics and decided that Bane would be best suited to Djem So. Savage just never got a style to focus on and so kept to what he knew.
Also, I don’t why most sources cite that his lightsaber resembled Dooku’s when to me it looks more like a double-bladed but simplified version of Anakin Skywalker’s lightsabers: a solid casing with a slanted emitter and the signature thick ridged handgrip of all the lightsabers constructed by Anakin and Vader. This weapon design could support my theory that Savage was indeed a user of an unrefined variation of either Djem So/Strong style or the Outer Ring of Defence
Sorry for the long post, Savage was one of my favourite characters to come out of TCW 😅
Amazing video as always EvanNova95.
43:06, basically that scene between the scimitar-wielding baddy and Indiana Jones in Ark of the Covenant. XD
Jesus Savage is over 7ft tall, he makes Palpatine look like a manlet
Even Vader stood taller than Palpatine. Count Dooku slightly more than Palpatine as well. Though Maul seemed to be near his height if you look at Phantom Menace.
@@99thJediWarrior Dooku towers palpy too at 6ft4 palpatine is around 5ft8
Palpatine just breaks through his Form 1 like a projectile
Palpatine is sm0l

Darth Sidious vs Darth Kryat
Aayla Secura vs Luminara Unduli
Ahsoka Tano (Rebels) vs Plo Koon
Kyle Katarn vs Obi Wan Kenobi (ROTS)
Sidious would annihilate Krayt.
Have you (or anyone else on the fanalysis council) ever used Ben Skywalker in your versus series?
Ben Skywalker vs Galen Marek
Ben Skywalker vs Ahsoka Tano
I think a Ben Skywalker vs Anakin Solo would be interesting.
Ben takes a majority against (presumably TCW) Ahsoka but loses to Marek.
I don't know why you'd offer up Ahsoka and Galen Marek to the same opponent. One's a very powerful padawan and the other defeated Vader.
How about Zayne Carrick vs Ezra Bridger (Season 4)
@@darylsdesigns6679 Zayne stomps. Probability manipulation is hax.
Jaden korr vs Galen Marek? Or perhaps Jaden Korr vs Anakin Skywalker (pre darkside revenge of the sith)?

Kit Fisto vs lucien Dray
Nightbrothers win.
Rico Chico Malico just did that matchup.

My personal guess is the lack of illustrations, but really, he should do something with Ben.
pheonix exalt did ahsoka tano (rebels) vs ben skywalker
11:50
His strength does make him difficult to defend against. Galia can only block him with considerable leverage and only when he's not really putting his strength behind it. When he puts his strength behind it all she can do is get out of the way.
to be fair the lightsaber resistant part when talking about his armor might mean against lighter saber strikes
Your new thumbnail looks awesome!
Thank you. Reti4 is officially my new Thumbnail maker and the things he can do with photoshop never disappoints.
EvanNova95 you're welcome👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Bruh!!! Haven’t watched Even’s videos in so long! I’m glad I’m able to watch this matchup. Jaden Korr for the win, as savage wasn’t properly trained unlike Maul.
I think Savage could greatly benefit from dedicated training in Form 3. If he could be disciplined, it would give him the defense/patience he so DESPERATELY needed, and if handled similarly to Darth Zanah, he could not only turn his opponent’s leverage against them, but amplify it to unstoppable degrees. He truly had enormous potential as a duelist
Oh crap, I didn’t get this in my sub box until just now!
Mmmm...what about a vs video between Galen Marek and Jaden Korr? It would be an interesting matchup, if nothing else.
Not surprised Savage Oppress lost, But I do love seeing all the feats and analysis of one of my favourite TCW characters.
My first introduction to jaden was super strange, my brother showed me jedi knight academy and they literally said my name (which is jaden) and it freaked me out but was super cool
Huzzah a new Versus Series vid, good things come to those who wait.
Something Dark is Coming? Must be the final verdict
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Oppress only have force training after his transformation by the night sisters? If so he did exceptionally well for someone who has relatively no training compared to his opponents, most of whom were training since they were small children in the use of the force. It also explains why his defenses seem to be lacking in that regard
Yeessss! My favorite channel is beginning a whole new season! :^D

Master vs Padawan - Kyle Katarn vs Jaden Korr
You’re back
Awesome. Could you do Kyle Katarn vs. Darth Malgus please? I’ve always wanted to see that
Antares Draco vs Lucien Draay: two master duelists with gray morality at best. Both are also powerful force users who focus on basic skills taken to their extreme.
Nice, just checked your channel earlier this morning for a new vid and nothing :( then here you were..
Dont forget your promised "Ranking the Sith" video.
can you please do kyle katarn vs tpm darth maul
Please do a video on tulak hord vs marka ragnos.
lol
It is not possible
Marka win ? GM Luke vs Vitiate can be interesting.
roman Republic Not possible. There are ZERO known feats for either combatant when they were alive. The key word there being “alive”, as Marka Ragnos possessing someone as a spirit and fighting through them isn’t exactly an accurate gauge of his power. As for Tulak Hord, all that’s said about him is that he was a great warrior. But, such praise of the character’s abilities is meaningless when there aren’t any feats that back this point up.
@GENERALKENOBI2 I agree. Mainly because Vitiate is a shit swordsman.
Valk vs ROTS Sidious in a pure force ability duel is a more balanced and interesting contest (to me).
17:14 I would like to point out that Kell Douro is marveling at the power of Jaden Korr's soup. That is all.
Yes I know now that he refers to brains as "soup".
What do you think that the characters tier rankings are I personally believe that savage is a tier 5 whose super strength and natural force potential let him engage hire tiers and that Jaden is a tear for roughly on par with Quinnlan Vos.
Savage:
Physicality: tier 1.5. Zabrak species traits grant him superior resiliency compared to humans.
Lightsaber skills: tier 5. His tremendous strength, as Evannova stated, negates any shortcomings his lack of understanding the sophistication of lightsaber combat. If you really want to push it, then I would say he’s 4.5, but I feel that is way too high for even him at his level of skill.
Force abilities: tier 3 when he’s in a berserker rage. Otherwise, tier 4.5. Extremely powerful blunt instrument
Please do more videos like this soon I will really like them
can you do kyle katarn vs shaak ti
Nomi Sunrider vs. Revan? it’d be an interesting match, since Nomi is missing and likely dead in KOTOR, but at that time she would not have been old enough to die of natural causes, and the only person who likely would’ve been strong enough to kill her would be Revan him/herself. So this is a duel we can reasonably assume to have happened, albeit offscreen! Keep in mind that Nomi would likely be in her 60s at the time :)
Super Headcanon but: I always felt that Savage was most likely not using Force Based Physical Augmentation, and instead his magically enhanced baseline was enough to match Council Master Level force users like Ventress, Obi-Wan, Anakin, Maul and Adi Gallia. Imagine if he could stack Force Based Physical Augmentation on top of that....
How about a mix of both ?
Really well made. Enjoyed watching this. How about revan and Hoth? Or revan and Vader?
If you're interested in Revan vs Vader I reccomend reading this:
comicvine.gamespot.com/forums/battles-7/cav-showdown-at-the-iron-tower-revan-darthant66-vs-1967266/?page=1
Hoth isn't a viable character for the versus format. We know too little factually about his capabilities to construct a fair analysis for him.
Savage Opress vs ROTJ Luke Skywalker
Both received "flash training" from various teachers without the traditional lengthy master-apprentice relationships common with both Sith and Jedi Orders.
Luke destroys.
Savage's only real advantages against other force users are his strength and endurance.
Luke has shown comparable or greater strength and endurance through his fights with Vader. On top of this, Luke is faster, more agile, smarter and more skilled. He takes this pretty easily
Great Video as always
Idea for a Match Xesh (Tao) vs Galen Marek
10:44 I'm sorry, but Maul's side says that under "Force abilities:" he has Force Lightning. ...
Um... what?
Okay, either Maul's just simply never used it in his entire life in any form of media, or that magazine is wrong and he can't use Force Lightning.
Just a small thing, but this left me scratching my head.
Yeah, probably a misprint or some writing error
This is awesome Evan.
Kao Cen Darach vs Count Dooku: the battlemaster and the duelist . Even as a short this would be fun since Darach symbolizes everything dooku hates about lightsaber combat. Plus even if you view it as a mismatch, Darach was able to hold off an opponent of dooku’s caliber and dooku wouldn’t be able to exhaust him like malgus did. Bare minimum dooku would have to slowly widdle down darachs defense while exhausting himself. And in terms of force ability darach is below him, but has enough power to stay in the fight
Apprentice Malgus was at least a full tier below where he'd be at the time of Deceived, let alone his later False Emperor incarnation. Kao is a peer of people like Qui-Gon Jinn, Rahm Kota, K'asim, etc. but Dooku is way above his paygrade. He's not beating someone who holds their own against Yoda and Windu.
I don't think I've ever seen an NJO character lose a single match-up against a non-NJO character since I've been binge-watching this channel. Are all the NJO characters power-creeped to the high heavens? For the record, I like the channel; it just feels like I know the end result of every NJO matchup and I don't even disagree with this videos end result or the Corran Horn vs Warb Null video.

Patiently waiting for Plagueis vs Caedus. Our favorite Sith scholars.
Control the textbook Niman specialists
@@darylsdesigns6679 Ik, thats why its so great. Darth Wyyrlok could even come if they wanted a 3 way.
Control in regards of raw Force potential, Caedus gets the edge for...obvious reasons, but in terms of combative application, I’d say its a draw. As lightsaber duelists, I believe Caedus would win because unlike Plageus, Caedus is more willing to use his lightsaber in one-on-one combat
Caedus but it's a good fight.
Caedus but its really close.
New evannova video my day is made
This is a far more balanced and fair view of Opress's capabilities and I both applaud that large improvement and agree with the result of this video. Also excellent quality as usual it's a treat to watch by the way.
That being said we really have to stop this pretense that during their duel Plo was the one at a disadvantage because he simply was not. Plo was not the opponent outnumbered in that fight nor was he the opponent being shot at whilst also dealing with a high calibre Jedi master.
Opress on the other hand was and he was able to contend on roughly even footing with the Kel Dor council master despite these disadvantages.
Plo allowing himself to become distracted in life or death 1v1 is also not a mark in his favour considering it allowed Opress to seize an exploit a tactical advantage which almost cost Koon his life.
Nope lol time for some perspective and context. Plo Koon had not faced Savage Opress before that engagement and before we get into that fight I will remind you Anakin Skywalker and Obi Wan Kenobi working in tandem were both thrown around by Opress in the 1st and 2nd engagement they had with him. The first time Savage Opress was simultaneously force choking someone not even phased by them and after he threw them off overpowering both easily.

The second fight Anakin and Obi Wan didn't gain an inch of ground the entire engagement and were both driven back not to mention each sent flying by Opress's force waves.
ruclips.net/video/Go4ixBWw_As/видео.html
Savage Opress also staggered back Dooku sending him flying before being subdued by Dooku’s force powers.
ruclips.net/video/7s3x8ox2ToE/видео.html
1v1 in a later season after 2 prior engagements Savage Opress staggered Obi Wan Kenobi and manhandled him breaking his defenses outright with only one blade then subdued him with physical strikes.
ruclips.net/video/7tbnBw6X3AU/видео.html
So trying to pretend that Plo Koon did badly when in his FIRST fight with Opress he took him head on blow for blow, on his own, gave little ground at all, tanked a kick to the head, then actually landed a saber strike amidst Opress's bulldozer assault is a lot better than anything Kenobi and Skywalker together managed their 1st and 2nd fight and is way more substantial than Obi Wan being tossed around 1v1 lol after 2 prior engagements. This does not even mention the fact Dooku was also sent flying by Opress’s blows so anyone able to even hold remote ground is setting a bar at this point because he's just so stifling. As for the Clones if you look at the comic Opress blasted back the clones immediately and the fight was one on one until the Clone trooper came back and distracted Plo Koon. In a 1v1 without outside interference that would never have happened. Plo Koon proved he can take everything Savage was bringing to the table and even responded by breaking his defenses while under constant fire. Even if in a 1v1 Savage Opress wasn’t going down and Plo Koon didn't possess the sheer kinetic force to compete physically enough to actually overwhelm him (possible I concede) the second Plo Koon turned to his force abilities namely electric judgment the fight would have ended. Savage Opress proved he has no defense against energy based attacks and doesn't even know to use his lightsaber.
ruclips.net/video/7s3x8ox2ToE/видео.html
Plo Koon only lost because of circumstances and rating his relative performance alone against Opress he did better than both Anakin and Obi Wan did in their first few engagements.
Would Jaina vs Bane be a good matchup? More Jaina in versus vids though, please
I want to see Jaina vs Vaylin from Knights of the Fallen Empire/Eternal Throne.
That would be a good fight to be honest. Jaina and Bane are fair competition for each other.
Alright season 7 has now finally started. I get the feeling that 2019 will be a much better year than last year
I enjoy every single one of your videos and I am looking forward to your next one. Keep up the good work!
This one was...interesting. I never doubted the outcome, however I am aware that I am a little bit of a Jaden fanboy.
Still, the fact that Jaden is so strong with force lightning alone would give him good chances to win on its own.
Add to this that he is much more experienced and sophisticated...I think it is pretty one- sided.
To be honest after watching your video I think I would really love to see a versus between Jaden and Galen Marek. Or Maul.
Also, in my opinion a team battle with Kyle and Jaden would be great. Too bad there aren´t many master and apprentice duos on their level. Obi Wan and Anakin are probably no match for them. Maybe Darth Zannah and Darth Bane? What do you think?
Galen would win that. Maul vs Jaden would be somewhat interesting but I worry Evan would downplay Maul's abilities in favor of Jaden.
Anakin and Obi Wan are more then a match for Jaden and Kyle.
@@williamhenning4700 I am not so sure about that. Galen is a bit overhyped imo, probably because of his abilities in the game. However, the same as Jaden is not able to really take multiple lightsaber strikes to the face like he does in the game, judging Galen by what he is capable in the flashy Forced Unleashed game is not really fair. I think Jaden would have a chance.
Obi Wan is my favourite Star Wars character, but against Kyle he would be crushed. Katarn is on a level with Mace Windu, he is a battlemaster, knows abilities of both the Dark Side and the Light Side and a very clever fighter. There is no way, that Obi Wan could outsmart or outlast him.
And as powerful as Anakin might be, Jaden in his later years could probably at least pose a significant challenge as a duelist and totally crushes him when it comes to force abilities. Anakin is more talented, but there is no point in talent if you don´t know how to use it.
At least, thats what I think.
@@noHarmony1 Even using just the feats from the novelization, Galen is solidly above the likes of Jaden.
Knowing abilities from both the Light and Darkside and being a battlemaster doesn't make you Windu level. I have Katarn and Kenobi about even. In a contest of stamina/endurance between the two, Obi Wan would be the likely victor going by their relative feats.
Nah. Jaden doesn't have anything to compare to Anakin as either a duelist or a Force user featwise outside of his performances against Ragnos and Mother which aren't quantifiable.
@@williamhenning4700 I guess at this point all I can say is that I disagree on the point of Anakin and Jaden and that I think that Galens duel with Jaden would be closer than you think. But that´s down to opinion I guess. Thats fine.
To clarify: I am not saying, that Kyle Katarn is on Mace Windus level just because of all the points I made, those were merely additions to my point.
Since we are discussing this here on EvanNovas channel, may I bring to your attention that he already made multiple videos with Kyle Katarn? (If you haven´t already, I recommend watching those, they are very entertaining)
SPOILER:
Evan had Katarn win against Count Dooku, stated he was his equal as a duelist.
Evan was also confident enough in Katarn skills that he at least found it worthy of making a versus between Katarn and Yoda, and even though he lost that one, I think not many people would argue that such a versus would be neccessary between Yoda and Obi Wan.
So yeah, I stand by my point: Katarn very much is on the same level as Mace Windu.
Having said that, I think a versus between Windu and Katarn would probably be entertaining, although my money would be on Windu. Greatly depends on how much Vaapad is helpful though.
@@noHarmony1 I mean, it's not really down to opinion so much as it is a side by side comparison of their capabilities. The only thing that would be opinion based is how powerful a Tavion possessed Ragnos and Mother actually were but I don't think it's constructive to make assumption about unknowns.
I've watched all of Evan's videos. Nothing from them would lead me to placing him on Windu's level. As I said, he's more akin to Kenobi in terms of capabilities.
I'm aware. I disagreed with that verdict then as I do now. Dooku is both more powerful and more skilled imo.
I don't see either as necessary.
The difference between you and I is that I don't take Evan's opinion as gospel. Only another knowledgeable Star Wars nerd. You have to learn to use the knowledge at your disposal and your own reasoning to come to a conclusion, not just rely on people like Evan to create opinions for you.
I truly enjoy seeing Jaden Korr in versus matches. I'd love to see him go up against Starkiller!
It's a good fight but I'd lean towards star killer personally
9:59: Savage isn't on the level of Council-level Jedi in skill
10:14 Savage's most notable kill is defeating a Council-level Jedi.
I know what you meant when you were talking about Savage, but it was still funny.
I think what the sources of Savage's "mastery" meant was that he never studied any form directly. It just happens that his moves reflect certain styles. After all, all styles had to start somewhere.
I also just realized the genius of this match up while typing this. It's second-rate Maul vs. second-rate Kyle Katarn. Not to bash either of them on their own merits, but it's kind of true.
One last thing, have you ever considered doing Alora (Jedi Academy) Vs. The Grand Inquisitor (Rebels)? I personally think the G Inquisitor would win that, but it's a close one and respectable to both characters. The difficulty with the Inquisitor is that he's stronger than most acolytes but nowhere near the power of the greats like Ventress or Jerec (those two would also make a good versus).
Savage is second rate but Korr isn't.
@@MarkLeel Medium muscular build which can dish out and take punishment but isn't the best at either, has extreme natural power in the Force, uses the light and dark sides of the Force, is a balanced duelist, is a capable hand-to-hand fighter, uses both a lightsaber and blasters, and defeats opponents well beyond his league.
Can you say any of those traits can't be attributed to both characters? It's like comparing Han Solo to Dash Rendar. If anything, Jaden isn't second-rate but rather a carbon copy of Kyle but with a different backstory and slightly different experiences.
@Wolfgod 64 I said Jaden wasn't second rate. In your original post you said "It's second-rate Maul vs. second-rate Kyle Katarn".
@@MarkLeel What I meant was that Jaden was second-rate at best. Though to be fair I guess my interpretation of what's good and bad might differ here.
I think a true copy is worse than something which is second rate because the former option tells me no one even tried, they just did what sold or was popular. Savage may not be as sophisticated or interesting as Maul, but he stands out a hell of a lot more than Jaden who seems content being a clone of a better character. In fact, calling Savage second rate is a tad unfair to him because he actually does have a different build, force powers, and style. Whereas Jaden does not.
Honestly, I don't mean to be that harsh to Jaden, it's not like I hate him, but the only way it seems I can properly articulate my meaning is by bashing the guy.
Wolfgod 64 I view Jaden as a better version of his master. Jaden obviously has many of Kyle's characteristics but he's also developed in other areas. Savage may be more unique in the way he operates but that's lead to him being badly beaten by every high calibre opponent he's ever faced.
EvanNova95, Can you please do a prime Yoda vs. Sidious series?
👍 another excellent analysis.
Jaden has a solid advantage in martial skill and force magnitude and control.
Where would you say Jaden ranks among the NJO??
He seems to be Council level with more powerful feats than most masters but never granted rank of master or Council seat.
Huey 7 In terms of the NJO Council I’d scale him in the low-mid range. He has the skill/control to take the win against beings like Octa Ramis and Toinne Solusar but wouldn’t be able to stand up to Corran Horn, Mara Jade, or Kyp Durron.
Still though, give Jaden a few more years or training and experience and I have no doubt that there would be a seat waiting for him.
Also fun fact, in the Novel “Riptide” Luke Skywalker notes that Jaden was offered a Jedi Master rank but he had turned in down due to his prior emotional instability. :).
YOUR BACK
Could you do Kylo Ren vs. Darth Caedus? I think that would be a sick video!
Kylo Ren stomps if shirtless. Not even Caedus can stop the swole!
Poor Kylo. He doesn't deserve such a beat down.
@@tiredjediknight3110 I could say the same for Caedus.
The thrashing Shirtless Ren would give him would be ridiculous.
great video as always, but i always have and will consider Savage as nothing more than a crude instrument. How about a match between Grand master Skywalker and Darth Kryat or Kryat vs Palpantine. I mean reborn Kryat when he was at his peak. Or Kirlocca vs Saba sebentyne
Palpatine > Krayt
GM Luke would defeat either Krayt or Sidious and Sidious would defeat Krayt.
You should do Jaden More Vs Starkiller
Starkiller would win that.
I'm not sure. Starkillers probably has more force power but Jaden has defeated opponents with starkillers level of power.
@Mark Leel I mean, Mother and Tavion possessed Ragnos's power are unknown. Even if the likes of Mother were as powerful as Starkiller, Jaden only managed to defeat her via indirect means.
William Henning another thing Jaden has in his favour is he's more experienced dualist & more varied force user. Starkiller had great raw power but not great knowledge.
@@MarkLeel Not according to the Star Wars encyclopedia.
"Under Vader's relentless tutelage, the Apprentice all but perfected the fine art of lightsaber combat and learned to wield many fearsome dark side powers.
" - The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia.
Either way, I don't see any gap in knowledge between the two bridging the distance between them.
How about Obi-Wan Kenobi Versus Kyle Katarn? I just wanna see how long of a Stalemate that would be...
Lone Wolf if they fought, it would most likely play out very much like the Mustafar duel in my opinion
I usually don't care much for your content, but I'm curious. Could you possibly do Rebels Maul vs Rebels Ahsoka? I feel like Maul is still handily above her, though she can still contend, but I would love to see an analysis of the two.
They fought briefly in Rebels s2 finale
@@TrajGreekFire Oh I know, but the fight was inconclusive and short (though towards the end Maul was starting to overwhelm her). Anyways, can't for their fight in Clone Wars.
Prediction: Jaden Korr Stomps.
Very nice! I noticed that you speak at roughly the same pace you do when podcasting with the others. I prefer your old pace :(
