This was my era too. I’m from New York and a Jets fan first but my NFC (2nd team) team was the Rams. He was a clutch, money kicker.
The most important win in their 1985 season was at San Francisco beating the Super Bowl Champions in their house on a Monday night football special edition
I remember that season. It was great hearing the names of all those players again. That team was really fun to watch. Unfortunately they got shut out by the eventual super bowl champion Bears.

@Rich Krupp The Rams & Dallas meeting for the NFC Championship at new their home in Inglewood CA or at At&t Stadium in Arlington TX would make me happy
The year 1985 was the beginning of the end for Eric Dickerson and his time with the Rams. Sure, he had a great year in 1986 but the contract talks helped to distance him from the Rams and their fans (many of them Orange County Rams fans came at him with racist overtones from 1985 to 1987). Dickerson has publicly said that 1985 was tough on him. In 1985 he held out (as he should have; have you seen the yearly money he got for 1983, 1984, and going into the 1985 season before his holdout?) and missed two games. He only had 5-100 yards games and only 1,234 yards in '85 which are so-so numbers for a back of Dickerson's caliber.
If not for one of the greatest teams in history in Da Bears that year the Rams could of won it all, clearly better than the patriot team the bears demolished.
Naw, the Rams may have gotten a touchdown and a field goal even with Jim Everett playing in that game, but beating the 1985 Bears at Soldier Field, nope. The 1985 Bears were on a crash course with destiny in '85.
