@@kevinjamesmartin4307 that's the thing. The block should not soft power stuff. This is the entire reason bulb displays work. With redstone lamps, hard powering the block soft powers adjacent ones and messes things up, so the contraption gets bulkier to prevent this. This block doesn't do so. And it's good.
It's now I realise, the 1 tick delay on the bulb is going to be AMAZING for note block songs, since now we can basically double their tempo, in theory!
I guess pixels in redstone displays have declared independence from each other, quadrupling the screen resolution, oh i cannot wait to build some stuff with this!
A few remarks about redstone computers: 1. If you are able to build a reasonable 1×1 copper bulb display (without requiring 3D wiring), you could have used trapdoors as well, and transmit this to 1×1 pixels for a redstone lamp display, powered using redstone blocks and observerclocks. The reason why computer redstoners didn't use this, was because this is just laggy and impractical. Also, it is impossible without pistons or observers. 2. It is still relatively hard to contruct a reasonable 1×1 copper bulb display, especially when not allowing observers or pistons, but everybody is probably going to copy a standard design. 3. This has little to do with redstone computers, but bells are the laggiest block in the game, and should never be used to replace hoppers in redstone.
i feel like i should put my redstone idea here: a 3x3 display of copper bulbs, each with a button on them, choosing the slot that an autocrafter puts the item in, and there could be a clear button that switches the material, between wood planks, iron, diamond, gold, or other materials that you want, it could have an optional addition where it displays the item your using with a block of it at the top, switching out with a piston conveyor of blocks behind it with the item options. (i dont know the auto-crafter well enough to know if this next part will work or not), again this may or may not work but have dirt/sand or something as filler for blank spots when submitting a recepie, but removing them before trying to craft. then you could submit a recepie, have it memorize the data for it (material and item slots filled), and have a repeat button on the side to repeat the craft, if it runs out of rescources it could spit out a paper that says "Insufficent rescources: iron" or whichever one you dont have. the memorize feature will need to be cleared because we cant really make more buttons. this will be a big project but i think it would be cool to see how small we can make it with the new copper bulb.
I wonder what implications this has for Minecraft Bedrock specifically, since a LOT of Redstone machines (like flying machines) need one tick pulses, which can't happen in Bedrock
