Noir Anthracite is interesting in a way, because it uses an absolute overdose of Pyralone (which is the finest quality of Butyl Quinoline Secondary from Givaudan). I think its around 5% of the complete formula, which is bonkers considering that a typical dosage of say IBQ is around 0.05 - 0.2%. Then there is also an overdose of Cedarwood (Virginia) at around 15% and rougly 13% are Patchouli. Its a really creative and well composed formula and a shame it bombed with its sales.
It wasn’t mass appealing, so they got rid of it. Because they care about the money from mass appeal. And didn’t want to “carry” something that would greatly please a (relative) few, seasoned opened up kind of people. Likely carrying it would cost them more than they wanted to make off of it.

Bowling Green, I fell in love from the magazine test strip in the 80’s and 90’s. I now have the cologne mini bottle, cute. But I think the citrus has gone out on mine. Then I realized they re-released it and discontinued it recently, so quickly ordered Amazon’s last bottle. It arrives Tuesday.😊
There is a difference between the Eau de Cologne & EDT of bowling Green from what I hear if you like the scent but want to experience the vintage hunt down a bottle of the Eau de Cologne 🤌🤌🤌
Also, this’s the year when I’ve stopped buying “accidental, unnecessary” scents. Now I’m hunting and buying only: 1. Something I’ve tried before and I know I want it (ex, MFK Lumière Noire); 2. Discounted/old/classic/might go out of market scents but still reasonably priced (ex., Chong’s Amouages, old designers’, new releases of vintages (too scary to buy actual vintages). No new releases for me - don’t care even to give them a sniff in a store. Oh, forgot about the niche which actually does it for me: ex., Francesca Bianchi, and I must smell (and prob get) Papillon Perfumery.
