Terrifying game. Great atmosphere. That flash when battle starts is a little intense. Also I mentally checked out at the rat baby part. Just don’t have the stomach for that stuff in my old age. But hope it all comes together and people get to appreciate the hard work on display with that crazy pixel art.
It looks like they plan on working a range system into combat. There are a few different types of damage too (slash, crush, fire, etc) but they don’t seem to matter right now. I did miss like 10 attacks in a row while using a knife, so maybe shorter weapons are less accurate?🤷🏻 It’d be nice if eventually some weapons like brooms or mops could hit enemies from a distance. Or at least have better accuracy. Better yet, let them be used as crafting materials. A broomstick and a kitchen knife would make a workable spear.
hello! So right now, that is kind of how its supposed to work, yes - long reach weapons have accuracy bonuses, and when enemies are farther away, your accuracy is halved (making it useful to have accuracy above 100%). Guns have a doubled base accuracy, so they hit farther enemies better.
@ i thought that might be the case. Are you planning on adding a way to create space in combat? Like when an enemy reaches melee range, a way to retreat back to polearm or firearm range?
I had a nightmare kinda like this, the sun started melting people outside into big blobs of flesh and the creatures outside tried to convince me to come out and join them, breaking open windows and doors to try and drag me outside. This is a very interesting game so far, thanks to whoever made my literal worst nightmare 🥲👍
I'm loving all the creepy eldrich looking abominations roaming around I look forward to seeing the full version ot this game so far it looks really cool.
So far this is how you recruit most of the party member Hellen: Random door encounter. Will ask if you can let them in. Agree and they will join Joel: Get the teddy bear from the next room. Fight him but instead of killing him. Use the teddy bear you got and he will stop being hostile. Ask him to come with you (do not pick the doctor choice or he will be afraid of you and refuse to join) Leigh: In the floor where you have to run away from monster. Instead of running. You can fight the monster instead. This fight is hard so it's recommand that you come with party of 3. Defeating the monster will make her impressed and she will join you upon asking.
Really feels like the idea is to incorporate Fear & Hunger's knownledge-based Gameplay and Encounter mechanics into the Survival Horror genre where it can truly shine, meaning that you'll have to experience the Horror multiple times before your Gameplan truly starts taking form, i really liked it!
The more I watch this, the more I'm getting Lone Survivor vibes. Old game now, but it was a similar "trapped in your apartment complex with monsters and resource/sanity management are a key gameplay aspect" deal. Curious to see where this one goes. What do you reckon the odds are that we'll have to go outside blindfolded at some point to reach new locations to loot after the food in our building runs out?
This game feels like great metaphor for 2020's COVID quarantine. Something dangerous is happening outside, but you are required to stay home, procrastinating all day and trying to stave off pangs of depression and stir sickness.
You would need to ask the developer that as I don't know what their plans for the final game are. If they do also release it on Steam then I'd include a link to there whenever I play the full game.

I think that there could also be a mechanic where you go out during the night once society fully falls apart.
