Not gonna lie, it was a breath of fresh air for the unchanged, yet seemingly crazy people to help keep you safe rather than be another creature trying to kill you. That cultist being "don't join, it might be dangerous" and Hellen looking like Jason Vorhees, yet willing to risk her neck in a fight in return for giving her a place to crash? Good characters.
A cultist going “don’t dude, it’s probably dangerous for you.” He’s real for that. And Hellen looks evil and probably has every screw loose but you showed her kindness so despite it so it’s great to see her happy about that
Yeah! I like how even the head cult member is very candid about their motivations. The world is ending, they just want to know why. Can't say anything to that other than "yeah, that's fair." lol
@@Cinemamuffin not gonna lie, the only sus thing about the cult is how they don't attract enemies, but they act and sound human enough to be friendly (also that might be hard to code)
honestly thats my favorite part, that just, over the course of the game your party gets filled with more and more lunatics who are completely chill hanging with you given the current situation.
Sometimes a family can be just a man slowly losing his mind, the shadowy masked amalgam that's oddly fond of him, his horrid rat baby that he hates to look at and sacrificed an arm for, a towering masked psychopath, and an obnoxious creep. And that's okay.
The moment when you were playing with the kid was so sweet and sad. You know he’s not gonna make it so you give him a little bit of fun before he goes…
I really do like that the masked figure, ultimately, is just like ‘oh sorry I guess I misread some signals, I’ll be over here, hope we can still be friends’
Fr tho; it was like the way it unravels your entire being is just how its intimate; it completely misread the situation lmao. Weirdly endearing how its just like "ooooh my bad, i understand now" and then just backs away
i do admit its weirdly cute how he just chills in your living room after trying to... eat you? absorb you? not really sure how to describe it. for a crazy horror game its pretty cool how you can befriend the elritch horrors
@paradoxtatorstudios9681 I don't know if I'd say it's intimate, it felt more like merging and becoming one. It would explain the various limbs it has, maybe it just merges with people it likes.
Actually heartbreaking: "This time, he doesn't come back form that unaware state. Hes gone." 💔 Like, in these eldritch horror stories, the children either are some of the first to go...or they last for an unfortunately long time...
Wish you could level up a character’s proficiency with different weapons. So if you have one character that constantly used a rifle and one character that constantly uses a knife like Hellen, they become better with it.
The teeth family... it's horrible to see what was perhaps a loving family home get turned into terrific monsters. Madison (the mom) really gave me chills with those rows of teeth underneath her shirt.
Its sad and beautiful that they were still trying their best to care for each other even after being afflicted. The older brother and father were trying their best to get a doctor's help and the mother wanted to make sure her baby was fed.
Thank you so much for playing! This is a very thorough video! Also, I just noticed watching this, that something went wrong interacting with Lyle! He's supposed to offer developing the photo for you if you have the exposed paper and ask him about the dark room. I'll check this out now, must be something wrong there. (Edit: ah! I just remembered- in that version of the game, the projector wasnt creating the correct item yet, so this is why the event broke. Should be fixed in the latest version now!)
You're welcome! Absolutely loved the game. The monster designs are fantastic and there are lots of great little touches - like the rat baby, the masked stranger and playing army with the tooth kid. Awesome work! Glad you fixed the projector! I figured there must be something missing for that quest line. When I play again I'll go back to an earlier save as I didn't really want to kill my weird little stalker! :)
@@AlphaBetaGamer You'll need a save that goes back to before exposing the paper to the projector to get the proper event. It *should* work properly from there.
I'm looking forward to playing this Frankie, I love old school RPG's and the Cthulu horror aesthetics tickle my fancy something fierce. Thank you Bobbert for finding another game for me to get, you seem to get alot of gems over the years.
I could tell this game was good after a few minutes, but the non-violent encounter with the little brother of the teeth family convinced me that this game is special. I've never seen an RPG Maker game use the whole animal in such a creative way. Dialogue boss fights are incredible when they pan out, and this is no exception. And the immediate segue into Lyle! What a sweetheart. This isn't a Lumpy Touch joint, but it nails a similar mixture of comedy and horror. You need some "Oh yeah!" to make the "Oh no..." hit. I just found out that this was a game jam game and has only had about two months of development as of this video, which is insane.
I adore the gray morality that so many games struggle to hit. You either haphazardly slay everything or everything can be reasoned with. I like the threat assessment and quick judgements you make here in the fixed encounters
@@BumboLooksyou should definitely read HP Lovecraft to learn what Eldritch horror is. Also the kid you can play with via the toy soldier and the game actively rewards is a good example of that "Grey morality" where it's best to assess before making actions.
This game was awesome. Also, I like how the first party member shows up after multiple "innocent looking" people knocking at your door who attack you, and the party member looks like a total psychopath, lol.
It does feel like the recruitable characters have a different vibe compared to enemies, they're pretty direct instead of going "oooOOOOOoooo i need something man i need it can you open your door now?"
I know this artist, I think it’s the one that worked on Barkley 2 before that got canceled. He’s been working on this game for years now, I’m glad to see it’s coming along nicely.
I think your thinking of Malison the Cursed City, that's his game maker project he's been working on for a couple of years. Look Outside was made for the Hawktober Horrors 2024 game jam in rpg maker, so I think the former still has a while before it's coming out.
I think that in a game like this, an option to talk with more enemies could make the experience much better. Thinking about whether the creature standing in front of you is even going to be able to make conversation (and if it does can you avoid conflict) feels like it compliments this horror nicely.
An excellent example of this is Fear&Hunger series (which the creator was probably inspired with anyway). Dialogues there can help you fight or even avoid the fight altogether (although in some cases it can only reward you with lore bits or just waste your turn, or even buff the enemy).
The way this little horror RPG tests (and rewards) your empathy is genuinely impressive. That's to say nothing of the swing-for-the-fences quality of the monsters and character models, or the sound design. It's a relief to see the medium continuing to evolve, with what are mostly the same set of tools we've had for decades.
i love that every actual party member you get seems to be visibly messed up as hell, and still this poor unemployed guy is outwardly kind to most, if not all, people he can be
Precisely. The people who are the most innocent looking, are the ones you should suspect the most. While those that LOOK like they witnessed things, are truly great.
Looks promising! They need to fix that little pre-battle peek-a-boo bug, kind of ruins the monster reveal surprise. I really like the play battle bit with the kid, it's not often you get a touching moment in a horror game. I hope they continue to put passion into their project.
Normally I don't watch the alpha/beta videos (0% disrespect, just always need resolution on the stories, promise) but the length of this one enticed me and I'm glad it did! Really gotta envy and admire this guy;; apocalypse begins, and he embarks on a quest of self-improvement and building relationships while never actually having to leave the building!
Has anyone else noticed just how many monsters are locked away? Stuck in rooms (or a bathroom stall, in one case) that they would surely leave if they were in a less deranged state of mind? It really does give the impression that a lot of them shut themselves away to keep from hurting anyone as their mental condition deteriorated.
This game is weirdly wholesome at times. You go from facing off against horrifying abominations to playing video games with the homies. Definitely keeping an eye out for this one.
@@planescaped Yeah, is there a key for her locked room you can find? The first floor is a huge maze that loops around enough, and there was those sets of doors that were jammed for some reason...
@@planescaped the 4th character is the grinning woman, you can get her as a party member by fighting her and then talking to her again. she'll say "You fight good for a pipsqueak, wanna hang out?"
Let's take a moment to appreciate that Hellen was probably just really socially awkward and doesn't really know how to socially interact with people, something that got worse when the world was endangered by a cosmic gorgon that melts minds and warps bodies. She's probably the most well-adjusted person in the building at this point.
Well, Helen's a woman. She means well for the most part. Especially considering that she easily outmuscles you, but she instead politely asks if she can stay in your apartment.
i've played enough vermintide to know that the skaven, no matter how cute cannot be trusted. at first its just a baby rat, but you give that thing ANY amount of warpstone and all of a sudden its a skaven under-empire
This truly does feel like the essence of eldritch horror. The sheer terror of the unknown, the tense atmosphere throughout the entire building, the absolute unholy terror of the monsters and the pure insanity gripping everyone…… Whatever it is outside it must be beyond our comprehension
It makes me incredibly sad that both the masked entity kills you painfully from its embrace and that Shutterbug has to be killed to progress. I do like the themes of boundaries with the mask, and I do like the shreds of kindness in this dangerous environment.
i wouldn't say the masked entity "kills" you. it seems whatever dimension it has for itself is different than most reality due to how at first you felt no pain when you were unwound. it seems to want to make you apart of it in whatever way that it can, which seems to include whatever the heck it does to you. hopefully the pain stops as you become apart of it as it doesn't seem hostile for the most part
The yes/no options can definitely be removed for things like tonic. But maybe we're gonna have an event late game where it says "it looks like tonic" and it actually has some eyeball microbes making it look milky and then if you drink "strange tonic" you die.
I liked the guy at around 49:00; knocks, Bobbert opens the door. He turns into a giant monster. Bobbert just sloooowly closes the door in its face and tells it to go away. Queue monster shuffling away sadly down the hall.
"if a flesh changed horror from beyond the void is asking to eat you; just say no! the flesh changed cannot legally consume your body unless you give permission!"
@@sovietunion7643 I recently fell in love with a horror visual novel and there is that one character that always asks you to give him a body part. You say "no", and he makes a really expressive disappointed face at you and leaves. (Instant gameover in most cases if you agree.) He is not a flesh changed horror though, got not that much flesh to begin with. But seems like he could take whatever he wanted without permission, it's just not fun to do so. And the way to avoid your first gameover with him? Literally closing the door on him lmao.
Alpha Beta Gamer is one of those content creators that not only brings a smile to my face but the many indie developers whose game they give a platform to showcase
I mean, he made some bag ramen and mixed it with some baked/boil/fried chicken. It's not that hard. I kind of headcanon that the main character has some experience as a restaurant chef, since he can cook proper meals with raw meats.
never before has a game made me say “thanks i hate it” more than this one. I really enjoyed the party just overall consisting of more and more absolute lunatics who are 100% chill hanging with you. Its both amusing, and a great breath of fresh air to keep the focus on the monsters as THE enemy
13:00 this game is very interesting. the enemies are either specifically named, or titled after the ability to watch. onlooker, bystander, observer, witness. its very interesting. because as the mc, how do they know what these things are? in many cases, creatures are named off of either an identified physical characteristic, or prominent action. this would mean logically that the names are from witnessing these creatures perform this. but any interactions with them are a fight. not necessarily a more... "natural" environment. now, obviously looking out the window is a bad idea. and based on the enemies, and specifically their names, they saw something in some simile of looking upon it. the thing is, visual hazard mythos and eldritch are... kinda baseline. though not as extreme in most cases. sure, looking upon an eldritch thing tends to cause insanity, but it almost feels incidental to the line of thought of what horrors would have to happen to cause such a creature to occur, not the creature in itself. this one however, it somehow manages to visually infect with observation. whether thats by you being a viewer, or perhaps it viewing you, maybe both even. the primary symptom seems to be eyes, but not everything is suffering from an eye based affliction. some seem to be wasting away. others have had severe skeletal metamorphosis, like the observer, which is very strange and interesting in its lore definement. both known humans had a large eye of some variety appear on their torso, but is very different than the observer or witness. though the real question is why? is this some sort of stage of growth? is there a life cycle to the visual infection? neither of the named individuals seemed to have wasted away, so perhaps there is other criteria necessary for a successful incubation of this... eldritch eye disease. !3 minutes in and these are my current theories. 42:56 it's interesting to see certain... thematics, at play, i suppose. day one was almost entirely eye themed. day two saw a lot of dental themes, but lyle seems very obviously... a photo nut. to put it one way. its kind of interesting, the onlookers seem to try to develop biologically until they go from onlookers to observers, to witnesses, and eventually seem like they might turn into eternal eyes. the naming scheme changes rather dramatically, as if going from a description of what they are doing, and how that relates them to the situation, to... something else. perhaps an eternal eye means they are no longer human period. and while i would say that by the point of observer, they only seem humanoid, the witness has foregone its humanity by 70%. its a large, rotund humanoid, but its mostly waiting to produce more eyes from its interior, likely bereft of any organ besides eyes. the eternal eye, on the other hand, keeps a vague humaoid shape because that was the base, not necessarily because that is optimal, or even necessary. the toothlings are interesting as they seem to be spawns, as opposed to infections, like the onlookers. and most of the people seem to become infected in regards to the teeth. there was the larger version, which speaks to perhaps its own life cycle. but it all starts with the baby. the baby is... eldritched, and infects others. but perhaps the entire point is for them to patient zero, and produce the spawns with every infected. this does leave questions however. the eldritch astral entity outside seems to be causing these... outbreaks, but the real question is, what is the important variable that leads to why this specific type of outbreak? is it the childs lacking awareness perhaps? or is it pertinent thought? a child having tooth problems may be very focused on the fact their teeth are hurting. but an adult is mostly past that, and would likely focus on what they were seeing? if this line of thought is true, the eldritch entity would be causing something like a cognitofocus hazard. which... might explain, in theory, what is believed to have happened to lyle. or... lyle attempted to get around first hand experience of the entity, and photographic exposure may be the reason for their theorized condition, not their fixation on photos, however, it does not negate the theory of cognitofocus hazard. because even if lyle was looking at a photo, they may have been thinking more of the picture, not on seeing it. a process, not an end goal, so to speak. there was the large thing in the tooth house though, i do wonder if maybe that wasn't the baby..... and then there is the grinning beast. a vastly end level horror of some sort. but is it of tooth, or of eye? it seemed to focus much more on teeth, but retained eyes and sight. its hard to say, but perhaps further in more information will illuminate this specific foe. 55:36 the visitors were interesting, as they define a third sort of... potential evolutionary line under this eldritch light. the two visitors might be of the same sort of evolutionary line, given the multiple limbs, the boy might be less far along compared to the woman, for all we know, the top half was no longer the woman, but instead her grown eldritch clone, like the bottom half of the boy. however, this points to a potential of the type of affliction by the light, being caused by perhaps a medium, rather than intentional focus. it does not however, discount it. because while my first thought upon seeing the boy and woman is a mirror medium, i do not know what focused thought could cause that. however, the boy seemed to very specifically point towards a sort of... reflection affliction, and the woman might too.though she had many limbs with only three digits, so its hard to say for certain. the telescope is interesting as a new point of reference for the reaction of the affliction in regards to the medium, but also the lookout, which was limbs and telescope. very interesting. 1:04:00 the painter has introduced a new and confusing possibility. but... it might also be answered by the giant eyeball room. perhaps... in most prior cases of eldritch infection individuals, it seems like the initial infection could easily be the inciting action for them to turn into what they do. the baby biting the rest of the family, causing tooth growth issues...but the painter... the painter poses a catch 22. where lyle and the hallway reflections could both state that their medium allowed for them to contract their specific form of eldritch infection, the painter has to see the source before they can recreate it. but if seeing the source causes the infection, then would they be an onlooker, or is their focus on painting the source of their infection? however... this is neatly cleaned up for us by the giant eye room. in the case of looking outside, or through the lens, the ramifications are instant and often deadly. how anyone else survived to be infected instead of dead is looking more like a necromorph scenario than some sort of "minor exposure" but the giant eyeball is death over time, and only after the specific time limit is elapsed, but not cumulatively. in other words. the painter gazed upon the giant BLUE eye in the room, and recreated it in their painting, but obviously all these eldritch infection scenarios are a cognito hazard. and thus, the painting was too accurate a recreation of the giant eyeball, so it recreated the effects necessary to cause infection from the painting, but now its not a giant eyeball, its a PAINTING of one. in theory at least. thus, the new strain of infection is not a reflection or ocular, its paint based. this now leaves the teething baby as the odd one out for what causes these strains, IF its entirely based on the medium for what causes the issue. unless... so... everybody should know that babies aren't particularly cognizant, however, what everyone may not know, is that during this age, the eyes are not entirely focused, as such, learning their surroundings is not sight based, not nearly to the same degree as an adult human. so.... in order for babies to learn more about their environment, they often do the most common sight of what a baby can do. they put it in their mouth. if the medium of contact is in fact the source of the strain... the baby either tried to bite something eldritch, or was instead bitten by something eldritch, which suddenly means it can fit within the medium of infection scenario just as easily, if not easier, than the focus during infection scenario. at this moment, i do not particularly have any real theories about the mask, or even the gunman, though he just seems like a good salesman, and i do hope they survive, given their prepping attempts. other thoughts at this time is that, in the basement(?) of the torn floors section, rats are found. this feels interesting. not really because they are rats, but because its animals in an apocalypse. though this does now make me wonder if the apartments had a slightly lax no pets policy, given the pet gerbil, or if there was none at all, and if so... how will eldritch infection affect a dog? i'd rather not find out.
1:11:18 this section was... interesting. i've said that a lot at this point. the various sorts of rats state on a baseline that animals are not free of this eldritch infection potential either. though the specific source medium is a curiosity. bigger, toothier, reflected, and a belly face.... different vectors, or perhaps different starting points for the rat king? unknown. but the tail felt in line with the reflection medium. the tooth however worries me. because that feels like it either means the child was bitten by a rat, spreading the eldritch infection, or the rat was bitten by the child after infection, either of which is concerning in its own right. the thing about the baby is... they said the baby was simply in the sun when it all happened. i had forgotten this detail earlier. so the medium is direct exposure. not exploration. the baby has to be infection by focus, basically. and then you have the thing in the crib. too harmless to kill, to ugly to save. was it the baby in question? or is it some sort of birthing from a rat king? its been two, maybe three days at this point. but its in a crib? behind a baby gate? in a room that apparently the rat kings cannot or will not trespass? this feels more like it WAS human. and transformed. but i have nothing particularly concrete to say what in gods name happened down on the first floor. however, i would like to call out the first floor. the first floor is very strange. the third floor is kind of normal, blood trail and broken doors aside, the second floor is normal at first glance, but every room seems to be falling apart. and the stairs from the second floor going down make you feel like you're in a basement, especially when you come out into a grid of halls. its very strange, but more on the second floor, its falling apart. walkways are crumbled and sparse in parts. but then you get back down to the first floor. there seems to be no lobby, no front doors to the outside, grid pattern halls, and, for whatever reason... grates. why are their grates? they make metal sounds as you walk over so its not just a carpet. but why? its very strange. 1:14:50 so... they checked the clock, and it says one fourteen or so. i want to point out, that is a.m. and then they go to bed, the light is still glowing outside. whatever this eldritch thing is... it seems to put off light. potentially it might output radiation. its hard to say. wait. at any time of day... that light could be there. in game it seems easy enough to recognize that this is at the very least a localized issue. but.... is it worldwide, or is it literally in a geosynchronous orbit in visual range of this, assumably, apartment complex??? then we have a new visitor. this guy... this guy brought me some levity. because i want to remind you. we have three people in this apartment now. we have bobbert, an otherwise average guy turned abomination slaying badass by action, though not by looks. helen, genderbent jason archetype. and now we have dan. who looks off his rocker and noodly as fuck. this regular joe schmoe looking bobbert has two serial killer looking nutjobs playing sleepover. like... if i rocked up on this group, yeah, miss jason and dan the crazy man are gonna make me a bit nervous. but bobbert? he's the odd one out. he looks normal. so what lets him blend in with the slayer gang? how horrifying is he really? you know what i mean? 1:19:14 so... the name of the boss was... Baby Teeth. this was the original baby. which makes a lot of sense, a lot more than the rat baby. it also means multiple infants in this complex. .... both having been infected.... and in different ways. regardless, a very sad state of affairs. baby teeth was... unnerving, the more i looked at it, the more details i saw. so many teeth. but teeth are, typically, in gums. and so my second realization, perhaps third, was that its flesh was now gums. the first was that it was the baby that bit everyone in the family, with the crying. the crying lead to the second realization. the combination of the haunting reverb in the background of the fight being a babies cry, and that the monster itself was crying, but... that made me look at its eyes... the whites have lines in them. it has no real eyes. the pupils are just areas where sharp fang like teeth meet, but leave a single gap. the whites... are just tooth. the eyes themselves are like the gullet of a sandworm. an orifice lined by fangs. at this point... are they tears, or is it drool? whatever the case may be, the first taste of pain for this child... teething, was turned into an unending nightmare, consumed by the growth of teeth. its very hard to say what the worst part of this game is on a psychological level. a family who, even after being destroyed, turned into monsters, by a bite from a baby, they recognize it as family, and the whole family dies for it. a child turned into a rat thing that may never see succor for the monstrosity that it is, doomed to starve in a crib. a child turned into an amalgamation of tooth and gum, released from an ever increasing pain of teething by death at the hands of a kind but no doubt horrified stranger. or perhaps... the saddest part is being bobbert. living through this, and being a vessel by which to end the suffering, or carry the story of, perhaps ironically, not what has been witnessed, but the consequences of witnessing, and putting to an end the suffering of those who unwittingly did.
1:36:44 by this point, i can't really continue my medium or focus theory. the worm and fangipede are, maybe insects, originally, but its very hard to say what would cause the worm to grow a singular knifelike protrustion, and the fangipede is potentially a tooth variant. but the naming scheme after that immediately just goes out the window. there was famine, who could be a tooth variant. or perhaps it has something to do with the red liquid that seems to have a connection to reanimating the doors with strange plant growth. very hard to say. and then you have the elevator thing. at some point it had to have been a lot more mobile, otherwise it had to have been infected inside the elevator. in either case, the cause of infection is unclear, and its not particularly similar to any prior monster. then you have face stretcher and the barista. the barista is still sane, sort of. being in the same room as this face stratcher, but having multiple hands with which it shows of its goods to you. of which, are not very normal to have in a coffee shop. or cafe. but neither of them have a very clear infection source, given how abnormal their growth phases are. and, even at this point, i'd like to remind everyone that sybil admitted to having seen outside. we have no idea what has happened to sybil, or how they remain... truthfully, we have no idea what state they are in period. then we never see the thing in the lobby in any particular detail like a fight, but it looks like a creature with large toes for multiple legs. what source of infection could that have? we dunno. at least we know that the first floor is not the ground floor. and we also have a basement. beyond that, suddenly grabbing the painting makes sense, though i am unsure how its supposed to help any. but i would bet its going to be an infection medium, as well as the words of the madman who wrote down what it looked like. not sure how this is gonna go, honestly. 1:43:23 after a quick google, it means, "gold coins to a cat" but i didn't add the accent over the o, but chances are, it has nothing to do with a jackal either way, and its just a further showing that this guy is a bad weeb of some sort. also... the mask is... terrifying. its certainly living up to the horror of its visual counterpart no face. from spirited away, though this guy is... taller? perhaps. its hard to say. maybe this isn't no face, but its certainly all hands. 1:45:06 the lady is back and i suddenly have a feeling. she said a line both times you open the door, "i just need to take you apart" but it felt like such a minor thing the first time, after all... bobbert hadn't stepped into the cloak of all hands yet, where they were TAKEN APART. the masked individual might be the daughter. or searching for her daughter is a convenient excuse, regardless, the similarities are there, and so they may be a family who succumbed to a different strain of the eldritch light.
end of the video, the rings are interesting, i wonder if the color is of any sort of side quest value or not. but also... there seems to only be three things... i guess unless the guinea pig actually saw it. wouldn't make much sense given the rats. the painter turned to paint, the writer became one with their chair and type writer, the astrologist seems to have become one with their telescope. so... whats left? two, technically three separate visual media. so what's the fourth gonna be? unless the guinea pig did see it, and became some sort of.. patient zero. that might explain the rats. not the bugs though. or stretch, or famine. and there are several rooms that need herbicide still, so thats very interesting.
Excellent breakdown! I can only thank you by your efforts. I think that the transformed forms are reflecting the people's state of mind, hidden insecurities, goals and tasks. Like camera fan was transformed into a bunch of photocameras or writer in a writing machine. It could be more metaphorical - like the Worm one could be struggling with its life, basically "writhing" through it. The Moonscorched in Fear&Hunger: Termina and Mutants in LISA series work that way.
@LoarvicLoarvic yeah, depending on the in universe lore, or even just the eldritch entity, sometimes the rules apply very differently. Like The King In Yellow doesn't typically do heavy transformations, but more of a brainwashing, meanwhile c'thulu of the Portsmouth variety is a combination of localized eldritch radiation, turning individuals into a sort of fish people, sometimes it's all the same fish, sometimes it's closer to specific species, and all with a strange sort of loyalty towards c'thulu, but only on awakening does madneds truly begin. In various games concerning eldritch beings, the rules are fun to figure out, like Still Wakes The Deep. Figuring out what defines a monster, the various hows, and such are always interesting. In smaller games like this it's basically just part of the game design. What are the rules of the programmer, what is their intent? It's enjoyable like the entire thing is one big puzzle.
I love that you can't trust anyone in this game, but the best friends you share your apartment with are Jason Voorhees' twin sister, a permanently grinning creep and No-Face
And,apparently,a disgusting mass of teeth that loves toys, also known as the teeth kid ABG missed the opportunity to recruit it by not giving it the teddy bear
I'm not sure if Deathless Hyperion was ever finished, which is a shame because I really enjoyed playing that up until the part where the game breaks and softlocks every time D:
See, lovecraftian stories need to be more like this. We need more heroes who don’t give up at the sight of eldritch power. Power of inner humanity, baby!
@DominicFabbricatore-hu4ie Sounds like a guy thing to do. Wife goes out to formalize a divorce, you can't do anything about it, so you might as well go tinker with your car.
i appreciate that the music in your apartment always lines up with the ticking of the clock - i feel its too good to not be on purpose. also i always have SUCH a soft spot for comforting monsters or otherwise fucked up creatures,, the part where you played with the kid was lovely
I really like how this game frames every encounter as combat. Talking to someone could be the prelude to a fight, or it could just be talking to them. It gives an extra bit of unease to every character you find.
I really like how Jasper explains his motivations for wanting to commune with the entity. it's not for power of ascendance or anything like that, it's just for the sake of understanding *why* it happened, so that the whole awful tragedy isn't completely meaningless. usually in these types of games the cult is just communing with the monster for the sake of evil so it's cool to see a more sympathetic take on the idea
So far my opinion of this is that it's got some great potential. I'm hoping they polish the small things like the TV being completely uninformative. I'm definitely interested to see what this phenomenon has done to the rest of the world in some capacity, since it kills the PC but curiously doesn't kill a lot of other people.
I've been slowly "sipping" this play through, enjoying it like a movie. The tooth family segment was poignant :'( I just finished the Unwelcome Visitors chapter. The encounters are really enjoyable (reminding me a bit of OFF! and UNDERTALE.) Anyway, just wanted to let you know I'm really enjoying this one, Bobbert! :)
As soon as I saw the character's first weapon was a baseball bat, I just KNEW this game was gonna play a little like Earthbound/Mother 2. Seemed like a reference to Ness' weapon of choice
I like how it explains you can “kill time,” because most people typically refer to passing time as “killing time.” Pass time in video games tend to be way to technical, in my opinion at least.
@ciceroissad4821 heres a step by step guide 1) go the kids room and get the teddy bear 2) exhaust all joels dialogue until the battle starts 3) go to items and give him the teddy bear (he will give the door knob) 4) defeat madison (the mom) 5) go back to joel and say "you can't stay here" then say "you can come with me" 6) you now have joel the tooth child.
For anyone interested in the masked stranger: look at it when it opens its robe fully. Think of what it reminds you of visually. Imagine there's no mask (or it is much smaller), pay attention to the clothes, the overall shape and folds. Why is its embrace so loving and yet so terrifyingly devouring? Have you ever heard of something like this before? Same as with the view outside: once you see it, you can't unsee it.
At first, I wanted to shut the video off when I saw the RPG Maker graphics and the typos ("appartment") but I'm glad I stuck with it, what a game. Gorgeous and the writing is stellar.
@ Somehow I don’t think my professor would accept, “Sorry I couldn’t make it to the midterm but I got traumatized by a let’s play of a horror game,” as a legitimate excuse. LOL!
This game is simply amazing. The art style is peak, the mechanics are fun, the horror element is scary yet somewhat endearing, you're never bored. The plethora of little characters are wholesome and fun: you can't wait to open the door and see who is there. I would like a little bit more rpg elements, like choosing what goes up once you level, but it's really a nitpick
Awesome game ! Love the approach of it. Like those used to be people and it feels real. Also I appreciate the cultists having despair for main motive. You should be able to loot the sinks and showers for toothpaste and soap methinks. Also is it just me or did the main character's eyes get bluer in the process ? Wonder if that's intentional. I wish there was a crib for the rat baby thing, or at least the option to give it the teddy bear. I'm guessing this might be in the full release.
Just people you would casually find in some run down city.
🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢
Uhh what's with the nasty emoji?
I really do like that the masked figure, ultimately, is just like ‘oh sorry I guess I misread some signals, I’ll be over here, hope we can still be friends’
Fr tho; it was like the way it unravels your entire being is just how its intimate; it completely misread the situation lmao. Weirdly endearing how its just like "ooooh my bad, i understand now" and then just backs away
"Ah shit, you funny bipeds don't do the unraveling thing? How do you even introduce yourselves? Fuck that's awkward, I'm just gonna... go."
i do admit its weirdly cute how he just chills in your living room after trying to... eat you? absorb you? not really sure how to describe it. for a crazy horror game its pretty cool how you can befriend the elritch horrors
@paradoxtatorstudios9681 I don't know if I'd say it's intimate, it felt more like merging and becoming one. It would explain the various limbs it has, maybe it just merges with people it likes.
Reminds me of Kaonashi from Spirited Away
Playing with that baby was like reading the favorite book of a hospice patient before they die.
Ngl. Watching that hurt a bit. Dont get me wrong it was the right thing to do. Full stop. But it still hurt to imagine how the mc must have felt.
That’s mean. They’re dying let them read their book
😂
@@joearnold6881 Thank god you put that emoji on at the end or I would’ve thought you were seriously offended.
Actually heartbreaking: "This time, he doesn't come back form that unaware state. Hes gone." 💔
Like, in these eldritch horror stories, the children either are some of the first to go...or they last for an unfortunately long time...
That got me to tear up. Poor little fella. At least he died happy.
I like how Hellen's cleaver broke and her response was to punch the Painter so hard it died
Wish you could level up a character’s proficiency with different weapons. So if you have one character that constantly used a rifle and one character that constantly uses a knife like Hellen, they become better with it.
@@Ofxzh And they last longer.

The teeth family... it's horrible to see what was perhaps a loving family home get turned into terrific monsters. Madison (the mom) really gave me chills with those rows of teeth underneath her shirt.
It's not even their fault or their daughter's. They were just unlucky enough that her crib was right outside a window.
I'm truely sad for the kid, most of all . . . _"He's gone."_
T n T

I absolutely love the idea of a horrific Lovecraftian thing being friendly, that encounter with the tooth kid was so sweet.
I adore the gray morality that so many games struggle to hit. You either haphazardly slay everything or everything can be reasoned with. I like the threat assessment and quick judgements you make here in the fixed encounters
Gray? Morality? Dude, this is just mindless grimdark with absolutely zero meaning.
@@BumboLooksyou should definitely read HP Lovecraft to learn what Eldritch horror is. Also the kid you can play with via the toy soldier and the game actively rewards is a good example of that "Grey morality" where it's best to assess before making actions.

@MegaJohnYakuza yeah, this game reminded me very often about funger. These are very similar and fun!

I would have said the pixelart has Lumpytouch vibes to it, but that's because he's very well known for drawing creepy eldrich pixel art.
I think that in a game like this, an option to talk with more enemies could make the experience much better. Thinking about whether the creature standing in front of you is even going to be able to make conversation (and if it does can you avoid conflict) feels like it compliments this horror nicely.
I agree, being able to talk your way out of some encounters Undertale style would be a good pairing here for the full game.
An excellent example of this is Fear&Hunger series (which the creator was probably inspired with anyway). Dialogues there can help you fight or even avoid the fight altogether (although in some cases it can only reward you with lore bits or just waste your turn, or even buff the enemy).
IKR!!

It makes me incredibly sad that both the masked entity kills you painfully from its embrace and that Shutterbug has to be killed to progress. I do like the themes of boundaries with the mask, and I do like the shreds of kindness in this dangerous environment.
Good news! You don't have to kill shutterbug to progress anymore. When you have the negative you're able to ask him to develop it for you. :)
i wouldn't say the masked entity "kills" you. it seems whatever dimension it has for itself is different than most reality due to how at first you felt no pain when you were unwound. it seems to want to make you apart of it in whatever way that it can, which seems to include whatever the heck it does to you. hopefully the pain stops as you become apart of it as it doesn't seem hostile for the most part

this game is very interesting. the enemies are either specifically named, or titled after the ability to watch. onlooker, bystander, observer, witness. its very interesting. because as the mc, how do they know what these things are? in many cases, creatures are named off of either an identified physical characteristic, or prominent action. this would mean logically that the names are from witnessing these creatures perform this. but any interactions with them are a fight. not necessarily a more...
42:56
it's interesting to see certain... thematics, at play, i suppose. day one was almost entirely eye themed. day two saw a lot of dental themes, but lyle seems very obviously... a photo nut. to put it one way. its kind of interesting, the onlookers seem to try to develop biologically until they go from onlookers to observers, to witnesses, and eventually seem like they might turn into eternal eyes. the naming scheme changes rather dramatically, as if going from a description of what they are doing, and how that relates them to the situation, to... something else. perhaps an eternal eye means they are no longer human period. and while i would say that by the point of observer, they only seem humanoid, the witness has foregone its humanity by 70%. its a large, rotund humanoid, but its mostly waiting to produce more eyes from its interior, likely bereft of any organ besides eyes. the eternal eye, on the other hand, keeps a vague humaoid shape because that was the base, not necessarily because that is optimal, or even necessary.
the toothlings are interesting as they seem to be spawns, as opposed to infections, like the onlookers. and most of the people seem to become infected in regards to the teeth. there was the larger version, which speaks to perhaps its own life cycle. but it all starts with the baby. the baby is... eldritched, and infects others. but perhaps the entire point is for them to patient zero, and produce the spawns with every infected. this does leave questions however. the eldritch astral entity outside seems to be causing these... outbreaks, but the real question is, what is the important variable that leads to why this specific type of outbreak? is it the childs lacking awareness perhaps? or is it pertinent thought? a child having tooth problems may be very focused on the fact their teeth are hurting. but an adult is mostly past that, and would likely focus on what they were seeing?
if this line of thought is true, the eldritch entity would be causing something like a cognitofocus hazard. which... might explain, in theory, what is believed to have happened to lyle. or... lyle attempted to get around first hand experience of the entity, and photographic exposure may be the reason for their theorized condition, not their fixation on photos, however, it does not negate the theory of cognitofocus hazard. because even if lyle was looking at a photo, they may have been thinking more of the picture, not on seeing it. a process, not an end goal, so to speak.
there was the large thing in the tooth house though, i do wonder if maybe that wasn't the baby..... and then there is the grinning beast. a vastly end level horror of some sort. but is it of tooth, or of eye? it seemed to focus much more on teeth, but retained eyes and sight. its hard to say, but perhaps further in more information will illuminate this specific foe.
55:36
the visitors were interesting, as they define a third sort of... potential evolutionary line under this eldritch light. the two visitors might be of the same sort of evolutionary line, given the multiple limbs, the boy might be less far along compared to the woman, for all we know, the top half was no longer the woman, but instead her grown eldritch clone, like the bottom half of the boy. however, this points to a potential of the type of affliction by the light, being caused by perhaps a medium, rather than intentional focus. it does not however, discount it. because while my first thought upon seeing the boy and woman is a mirror medium, i do not know what focused thought could cause that. however, the boy seemed to very specifically point towards a sort of... reflection affliction, and the woman might too.though she had many limbs with only three digits, so its hard to say for certain.
the telescope is interesting as a new point of reference for the reaction of the affliction in regards to the medium, but also the lookout, which was limbs and telescope. very interesting.
1:04:00
the painter has introduced a new and confusing possibility. but... it might also be answered by the giant eyeball room. perhaps...
in most prior cases of eldritch infection individuals, it seems like the initial infection could easily be the inciting action for them to turn into what they do. the baby biting the rest of the family, causing tooth growth issues...but the painter... the painter poses a catch 22. where lyle and the hallway reflections could both state that their medium allowed for them to contract their specific form of eldritch infection, the painter has to see the source before they can recreate it. but if seeing the source causes the infection, then would they be an onlooker, or is their focus on painting the source of their infection? however... this is neatly cleaned up for us by the giant eye room.
in the case of looking outside, or through the lens, the ramifications are instant and often deadly. how anyone else survived to be infected instead of dead is looking more like a necromorph scenario than some sort of "minor exposure" but the giant eyeball is death over time, and only after the specific time limit is elapsed, but not cumulatively. in other words. the painter gazed upon the giant BLUE eye in the room, and recreated it in their painting, but obviously all these eldritch infection scenarios are a cognito hazard. and thus, the painting was too accurate a recreation of the giant eyeball, so it recreated the effects necessary to cause infection from the painting, but now its not a giant eyeball, its a PAINTING of one. in theory at least. thus, the new strain of infection is not a reflection or ocular, its paint based. this now leaves the teething baby as the odd one out for what causes these strains, IF its entirely based on the medium for what causes the issue.
unless...
so... everybody should know that babies aren't particularly cognizant, however, what everyone may not know, is that during this age, the eyes are not entirely focused, as such, learning their surroundings is not sight based, not nearly to the same degree as an adult human. so.... in order for babies to learn more about their environment, they often do the most common sight of what a baby can do.
they put it in their mouth.
if the medium of contact is in fact the source of the strain... the baby either tried to bite something eldritch, or was instead bitten by something eldritch, which suddenly means it can fit within the medium of infection scenario just as easily, if not easier, than the focus during infection scenario.
at this moment, i do not particularly have any real theories about the mask, or even the gunman, though he just seems like a good salesman, and i do hope they survive, given their prepping attempts. other thoughts at this time is that, in the basement(?) of the torn floors section, rats are found. this feels interesting. not really because they are rats, but because its animals in an apocalypse. though this does now make me wonder if the apartments had a slightly lax no pets policy, given the pet gerbil, or if there was none at all, and if so... how will eldritch infection affect a dog? i'd rather not find out.
1:11:18
this section was... interesting. i've said that a lot at this point.
the various sorts of rats state on a baseline that animals are not free of this eldritch infection potential either. though the specific source medium is a curiosity. bigger, toothier, reflected, and a belly face.... different vectors, or perhaps different starting points for the rat king? unknown. but the tail felt in line with the reflection medium. the tooth however worries me. because that feels like it either means the child was bitten by a rat, spreading the eldritch infection, or the rat was bitten by the child after infection, either of which is concerning in its own right. the thing about the baby is... they said the baby was simply in the sun when it all happened. i had forgotten this detail earlier. so the medium is direct exposure. not exploration. the baby has to be infection by focus, basically.
and then you have the thing in the crib. too harmless to kill, to ugly to save. was it the baby in question? or is it some sort of birthing from a rat king? its been two, maybe three days at this point. but its in a crib? behind a baby gate? in a room that apparently the rat kings cannot or will not trespass? this feels more like it WAS human. and transformed. but i have nothing particularly concrete to say what in gods name happened down on the first floor. however, i would like to call out the first floor.
the first floor is very strange. the third floor is kind of normal, blood trail and broken doors aside, the second floor is normal at first glance, but every room seems to be falling apart. and the stairs from the second floor going down make you feel like you're in a basement, especially when you come out into a grid of halls. its very strange, but more on the second floor, its falling apart. walkways are crumbled and sparse in parts. but then you get back down to the first floor. there seems to be no lobby, no front doors to the outside, grid pattern halls, and, for whatever reason... grates. why are their grates? they make metal sounds as you walk over so its not just a carpet. but why? its very strange.
1:14:50
so... they checked the clock, and it says one fourteen or so. i want to point out, that is a.m. and then they go to bed, the light is still glowing outside. whatever this eldritch thing is... it seems to put off light. potentially it might output radiation. its hard to say. wait. at any time of day... that light could be there. in game it seems easy enough to recognize that this is at the very least a localized issue. but.... is it worldwide, or is it literally in a geosynchronous orbit in visual range of this, assumably, apartment complex???
then we have a new visitor. this guy... this guy brought me some levity. because i want to remind you. we have three people in this apartment now. we have bobbert, an otherwise average guy turned abomination slaying badass by action, though not by looks. helen, genderbent jason archetype. and now we have dan. who looks off his rocker and noodly as fuck. this regular joe schmoe looking bobbert has two serial killer looking nutjobs playing sleepover. like... if i rocked up on this group, yeah, miss jason and dan the crazy man are gonna make me a bit nervous. but bobbert? he's the odd one out. he looks normal. so what lets him blend in with the slayer gang? how horrifying is he really? you know what i mean?
1:19:14
so... the name of the boss was... Baby Teeth. this was the original baby. which makes a lot of sense, a lot more than the rat baby. it also means multiple infants in this complex. .... both having been infected.... and in different ways. regardless, a very sad state of affairs. baby teeth was... unnerving, the more i looked at it, the more details i saw. so many teeth. but teeth are, typically, in gums. and so my second realization, perhaps third, was that its flesh was now gums. the first was that it was the baby that bit everyone in the family, with the crying. the crying lead to the second realization. the combination of the haunting reverb in the background of the fight being a babies cry, and that the monster itself was crying, but... that made me look at its eyes... the whites have lines in them. it has no real eyes. the pupils are just areas where sharp fang like teeth meet, but leave a single gap. the whites... are just tooth. the eyes themselves are like the gullet of a sandworm. an orifice lined by fangs. at this point... are they tears, or is it drool? whatever the case may be, the first taste of pain for this child... teething, was turned into an unending nightmare, consumed by the growth of teeth. its very hard to say what the worst part of this game is on a psychological level. a family who, even after being destroyed, turned into monsters, by a bite from a baby, they recognize it as family, and the whole family dies for it. a child turned into a rat thing that may never see succor for the monstrosity that it is, doomed to starve in a crib. a child turned into an amalgamation of tooth and gum, released from an ever increasing pain of teething by death at the hands of a kind but no doubt horrified stranger.
or perhaps... the saddest part is being bobbert. living through this, and being a vessel by which to end the suffering, or carry the story of, perhaps ironically, not what has been witnessed, but the consequences of witnessing, and putting to an end the suffering of those who unwittingly did.
1:36:44
by this point, i can't really continue my medium or focus theory. the worm and fangipede are, maybe insects, originally, but its very hard to say what would cause the worm to grow a singular knifelike protrustion, and the fangipede is potentially a tooth variant.
but the naming scheme after that immediately just goes out the window. there was famine, who could be a tooth variant. or perhaps it has something to do with the red liquid that seems to have a connection to reanimating the doors with strange plant growth. very hard to say. and then you have the elevator thing. at some point it had to have been a lot more mobile, otherwise it had to have been infected inside the elevator. in either case, the cause of infection is unclear, and its not particularly similar to any prior monster.
then you have face stretcher and the barista. the barista is still sane, sort of. being in the same room as this face stratcher, but having multiple hands with which it shows of its goods to you. of which, are not very normal to have in a coffee shop. or cafe. but neither of them have a very clear infection source, given how abnormal their growth phases are.
and, even at this point, i'd like to remind everyone that sybil admitted to having seen outside. we have no idea what has happened to sybil, or how they remain... truthfully, we have no idea what state they are in period.
then we never see the thing in the lobby in any particular detail like a fight, but it looks like a creature with large toes for multiple legs. what source of infection could that have? we dunno. at least we know that the first floor is not the ground floor. and we also have a basement. beyond that, suddenly grabbing the painting makes sense, though i am unsure how its supposed to help any. but i would bet its going to be an infection medium, as well as the words of the madman who wrote down what it looked like. not sure how this is gonna go, honestly.

after a quick google, it means, "gold coins to a cat" but i didn't add the accent over the o, but chances are, it has nothing to do with a jackal either way, and its just a further showing that this guy is a bad weeb of some sort.
also... the mask is... terrifying. its certainly living up to the horror of its visual counterpart no face. from spirited away, though this guy is... taller? perhaps. its hard to say. maybe this isn't no face, but its certainly all hands.
1:45:06 the lady is back and i suddenly have a feeling. she said a line both times you open the door, "i just need to take you apart" but it felt like such a minor thing the first time, after all...
bobbert hadn't stepped into the cloak of all hands yet,
where they were TAKEN APART.
the masked individual might be the daughter. or searching for her daughter is a convenient excuse, regardless, the similarities are there, and so they may be a family who succumbed to a different strain of the eldritch light.
end of the video, the rings are interesting, i wonder if the color is of any sort of side quest value or not. but also... there seems to only be three things... i guess unless the guinea pig actually saw it. wouldn't make much sense given the rats. the painter turned to paint, the writer became one with their chair and type writer, the astrologist seems to have become one with their telescope. so... whats left? two, technically three separate visual media. so what's the fourth gonna be? unless the guinea pig did see it, and became some sort of.. patient zero. that might explain the rats. not the bugs though. or stretch, or famine. and there are several rooms that need herbicide still, so thats very interesting.
The guy who sells guns is clear shout-out to Darkwood protagonist. Good game tho. Waiting for full release.
I don't care if it is a rat-human abomination, it is a baby, and my maternal instincts are kicking in regardless
I love that you can't trust anyone in this game, but the best friends you share your apartment with are Jason Voorhees' twin sister, a permanently grinning creep and No-Face
And,apparently,a disgusting mass of teeth that loves toys, also known as the teeth kid
ABG missed the opportunity to recruit it by not giving it the teddy bear
42:47 I wouldn't eat that "raw pork" you just so happened to fond on a terribly mutated human, if I were you...
An art style immediately reminded me of the Deathless Hyperion game. Turns out it's the same author! Thanks for the video)
Yeah, same dev. Really liked that game! :)
I'm not sure if Deathless Hyperion was ever finished, which is a shame because I really enjoyed playing that up until the part where the game breaks and softlocks every time D:
@@jadewedge6082 same thing 😔
See, lovecraftian stories need to be more like this. We need more heroes who don’t give up at the sight of eldritch power. Power of inner humanity, baby!
So nice they have running electricity during a world-end apocalypse. Usually power plants magically fail during the first 5 seconds of it.
The employees are probably trapped inside. Might as well keep them running
This one seems like a real gem ngl. Great art, great music, nice classic jrpg vibe.
i love soo much the apartment music it adds to the atmosphere perfectly!
I like how No-Face's cousin tries to bad touch you into it's personal nightmare zone.
Also Hellen Voorhees is best girl.
The enemies running towrds you, the flash before combat... this all rmeimds me of Fear and Hunger
Oh no, poor Lyle! You guys could’ve been something great 💔 Also it would be awesome if the masked creature could join your party
So far my opinion of this is that it's got some great potential. I'm hoping they polish the small things like the TV being completely uninformative. I'm definitely interested to see what this phenomenon has done to the rest of the world in some capacity, since it kills the PC but curiously doesn't kill a lot of other people.
The apartment ambient music feels like 16-bit bliss
Well the moment with the kid was incredibly sad 😢
Like, wow.
Man this game is a professional at playing with my emotions
I like how this is a horror game, but it allows itself to have some humor in it. That's a sign of confidence right there.
Hellen seems pretty chill.. despite everything..
I've been slowly "sipping" this play through, enjoying it like a movie. The tooth family segment was poignant :'( I just finished the Unwelcome Visitors chapter. The encounters are really enjoyable (reminding me a bit of OFF! and UNDERTALE.)
Anyway, just wanted to let you know I'm really enjoying this one, Bobbert! :)
This game is coming along amazingly. Can't wait for a full release to come out!
There's a surprising amount of friends to be made in the weird monster apocalypse.
Fun fact: you can recruit joel the teeth monster from the bathroom into your party
How?
@ciceroissad4821 heres a step by step guide
1) go the kids room and get the teddy bear
2) exhaust all joels dialogue until the battle starts
3) go to items and give him the teddy bear (he will give the door knob)
4) defeat madison (the mom)
5) go back to joel and say "you can't stay here" then say "you can come with me"
6) you now have joel the tooth child.
Playing with the child made me cry. (Probably pregnancy hormones) But it made my heart happy and sad at the same time. So bittersweet
"Grant us eyes...Eyes on the inside..."
Fear the old blood.
This artist behind the hame posts speed paints of the pixel arts on their channel, deff worth Checking out
For anyone interested in the masked stranger:
look at it when it opens its robe fully.
It is a serial crime that you cannot pet or physically interact with the masked figure.
Haha, you can't pet it, but I guess you do come into contact when it absorbs you at 01:37:07
@AlphaBetaGamer huh, noted, although an April fools or dumb spin off game where it's a dating sim with Lyle would be great/funny.
41:11
I LOVE LYLE SO SO MUCH...He's so silly like just look at the little guy!!!
At first, I wanted to shut the video off when I saw the RPG Maker graphics and the typos ("appartment") but I'm glad I stuck with it, what a game. Gorgeous and the writing is stellar.
Such a fresh take on a rpgmaker game, very much appreciated!
Don’t think I’ll be able to go outside after this. Which is bad because I have a midterm tomorrow.
Haha, at least you'll have a good excuse for missing it! :)
@ Somehow I don’t think my professor would accept, “Sorry I couldn’t make it to the midterm but I got traumatized by a let’s play of a horror game,” as a legitimate excuse. LOL!
1:39:23 I was genuinely surprised, that the neighbor didn't say a thing about what just happend 😂
I love the art style this game has it reminds me of the animations made by Lumpy Touch, and the sense of dread it gives me is impressive.
Honestly Lyle fine as hell, he can get way more than just a kiss teehee
Screw you for putting that image in my head
lowkey that masked stranger fella lowkey chill
Awesome game ! Love the approach of it. Like those used to be people and it feels real. Also I appreciate the cultists having despair for main motive.
You should be able to loot the sinks and showers for toothpaste and soap methinks. Also is it just me or did the main character's eyes get bluer in the process ? Wonder if that's intentional.
I wish there was a crib for the rat baby thing, or at least the option to give it the teddy bear. I'm guessing this might be in the full release.
You know what, actually, I think this is the type of game I would love to play on DS.
This is why you dont do joy, kids
Don't be a Brad. Be a Terry.
Be a Rando fr
Holy shit. A LISA reference.
This game looks incredible. Amazing work and thanks for showing it off!
Awesome concept! Love how many monster varieties there are.
Bravo actually well made cosmic horror
Also, I felt like the masked figure animated like a Saladfingers animation, so that was neat.
Loves the interaction with the masked creature, the moment when you become one with it.
"found cloth"
Uh, why are you undressing the zombies? O.o
Wow this channel is really good at finding these weird and cool games
I really like the game, the art style is awesome. One thing I would remove/change is that flashbang when entering combat, it really hurt my eyes
I hope this game gets a following! I love the sound design and the overall mood of it. I cant wait for the full release!
This premise seems like cross between the movie Birdbox and the comic Sweet Home.
lol XD
The grotesk child of LISA and "Fear and Hunger"... Very impressive!
love how many monster designs there are
The way this game is structured and laid out reminds me of Quinn K's work (An Outcry, There Swings A Skull)
56:07 man helen is pretty chill with the fact the shadow mask monster is your friend
The moment you spend with the tooth boy... that hurt me. At least he had fun before he... ceased to be.
The OST for this game is honestly great.
I'm hoping for someone to upload it soon, it's dope
Great video 👍
