De-escalate?? Trump doesn't care about your de-escalation, he needs taxes as the IRS is set to disappear. Importers and consumers are being punished for decades of labor transferred abroad. If you can't understand this moment then you should step down.
Tariffs on imported goods are paid by the buyers (American's). Their purpose is to discourage importing and buy domestic. They do not come from foreign countries.

There is nothing anybody can do when the other party does not want to listen. We should focuss on other opportunities how to grow economy with other countries. Europe, Asia, Africa abd etc.

Bring Coast Guard and Boarder Police , conservation police etc. into a Canadian national guard to raise our NATO 2% requirement. Turkey and Greece do this as they are on a ready state of war with each other. These Guard members can never fight overseas ( unless they the members wish to) yet it raises the NATO dollar numbers. Build the Canadian Ice breakers and load the boarder up.

Canada DOES NOT need a one month reprieve, we should not stretch this dispute like this, it's harmful for the economy. The SMALL border issue can be resolved through a quick agreement, no need to wait another month, two, three to see the results.

Saskatchewan Alberta and Manitoba have a golden opportunity if they come together and open Churchill Manitoba our only hope of having tide water and shipping lanes. The Arctic waters are now open for year round shipping. Build a huge refinery in Churchill Manitoba and start shipping our products and oil and gas from Churchill. Most of the infrastructure is already in place afterall we shipped all of our grain from Churchill Manitoba. Geographicaly it's the shortest route to tide water and Less costly with the terrain. Not only our oil and gas but all our agriculture products. Lumber and minerals will be shipped via the North West Passage. This will also change the shipping world. Forcing the usa to also use the Churchill Manitoba shipping port. A win win.
