Naom Chompsky is one of those people whose influence upon the World will not be fully realised, until he's long gone.
Like Einstein, his life, work and philosophy will live on, books will (and have already been) written about him, institutions will be named in his honour and an infinite number of works will be derived from the framework he has devised.
    In a nutshell, the man's a genius!
Thank you so very much for posting this.

I agree with Chompski, but there is some debate about the imprinting part. The last thing I read implied that the stimulus may actually be more important, even with this framework understood, than we gave it previous credit for. That's why you learn your parents' language and then have a hard time learning a second language, even if it is started relatively early.

To me, this implies a window of plasticity. An age group of activation. What does that window of plasticity tell us about this brain region that evolved into this grammar compiler???

Implying that the structure for language evolved before we could comprehend its usefulness.

Whatever drives or limiting factors that selected the eventual brain regions responsible for language... did so without knowledge or understanding of their eventual use. Implying that it was a secondary attribute, which was the valuable one for reproduction. What dual aspect of the brain regions for language can be found that could tie it back into this argument, namely hunting and shelter...
