ive been through like half a dozen apps over the passed year, havent even a single like or reply to anything at all. A girl on my campus eventually approached and confessed to me, felt so real and so nice for the first time ever, like there was long term potential, but only for about 2 months until she went radio silent for a week and turned up deciding she found someone better. now its like i never existed and for some ungodly reason i was compelled to reinstall the apps knowing its really just hopeless.

@mabm4310 that would depend on the outcome one desires. I contest that those wishing to "date" are not seriously looking for long term relationships (aka marriage). So to be an expert on "dating" one only needs to know how to have success in getting dates.
Now if one wishes to be an expert in "relationships" then they would need to know how to maintain a healthy (successful) relationship.

Fact is since "dating" was created (in favor of arranged marriages) the divorce rates AND birth rates have been steadily and consistently declining. So dating does NOT result in meaningful long term relationships and successful marriages for the majority.
I’m glad I got married before this whole thing blew up. I’m super shy and always had a hard time approaching women but I’ve always been good looking so women usually approach me at the bar. In public though most women say or I can tell they are intimidated because they clam up close like I do lol. These apps would have freaked havoc on me. I’m so happy to be married to a girl I went to high school with. I was known as the best looking guy in my school and I ended up marrying a girl who was a huge tomboy and I didn’t even know existed. She’s such an amazing person though and if I had these apps I would only go out with women based off their looks and I never would have met her. It makes me happy to see all the “hot” girls from high school be super jealous of the girl that they were mean to in school. For guys and girls if you’re not the best looking person in the world get off the apps and go talk to people. I fell in love with my wife because I just liked to hang out with her. I realized real early she was different. She was so fun to be around and she understood me on another level. She thought she never had a chance but she took a shot and I had just broken up with a GF so I hung out with her because I was still sad. And we never looked back. Take your shot, let people know you.

This came across my feeds. I’m 47 and married now, but absolutely remember being that average guy in my late teens/early twenties. Guys even back then with no social media and basically no internet(it wasn’t mass market yet), it was still extremely hard to date girls in that 18-24 bracket! I can only imagine how it is now with the access these girls have. During that age range as an average guy, you need to figure out how to get a super power. I was in college and had a car that was paid off and went and bought a motorcycle(I worked while in school). That got me in with a lot of girls! It doesn’t have to be that, but you need to figure out something. Regardless, it will get better over time. If all else fails, just continue to stay on your grind and self improve!
