Met him not too long ago the day after the concert I was at recently, haven’t met too many famous folks but James was definitely the nicest! He doesn’t do pictures or autographs but he will have a conversation with you, I spoke to him for about five minutes about the show, music, records and guitars, when I had to leave to catch my flight me gave me a guitar pick.
I know a couple of guys from my country (in Europe...) who managed to get a picture with him, 11 years ago when they came down here for a gig. Maybe it depends on his mood, you just have to be quite lucky.

The hardwired to self destruct album is amazing. It talks about the drama of the world, and people's dark side of their lives. It makes me accept my problems in life, and how to deal with them.
People always ask about Robert. He has been in the band as long if not longer than the previous 2 bassists. He is the kick in the ass Metallica needed. Jason was good, but not fantastic. He has his fans, but he just wasn't Cliff. At least Robert is much closer to the style of Cliff. And instead of bringing in the Classical Music style, Robert brought in the Spanish Western style. Fits in perfect.
@Tom Marvolo Riddle If Jason was so great, why did they almost completely lower his bass on Justice? I know some claim this was done in memoriam to Cliff Burton, but that is only an opinion. Even if you listen to Justice and compare it to the Bob Rock ruination of the band, you can see Metallica had nothing left. Isn't it strange when both Bob and Jason left, Metallica started selling out Domes, Race tracks, and other places that bands like Pink Floyd, and Queen once toured. Yet, they were only selling out some stadiums when Jason and Bob were in control. Explain that to me. The Band has even said "Hardwire...to Self Destruct" was their best selling album in years. Now consider the Black Album was their highest seller (and almost the beginning of the end), how do you explain that. Robert on performed on the albums "Death Magnetic", & "Hardwired to Self Destruct". That St. Anger garbage just sounded better when they performed it live with Robert. It was garbage, and the only Metallica Album, I refuse to buy. So let's see that album occurred after Jason left, and before Bob Rock tried to.take Jason's place. Metallica were basically dead before that album, and only going through the contractual agreement. Then Death Magnetic comes out. Metallica toured 8 years on this album. Let me repeat, they toured for 8 years on one album. So although "Hardwired" is a touch of Metallica's various sounds (made from Killem All through Reload). But as James Hetfield said, "It is our best selling album in years." Now think about that. Metallica fan since "Ride The Lightning".
@@supportthebandsstopfakecop1679 they lowered the bass on Justice because they treated jason like the new kid, which he was in the mid to late 80s.
