S&M2 shows just how unforgettable the song really is. The orchestra playing the riffs was beautiful like a classical piece of music. Even makes the Death Magnetic version feel more like listening to a vintage classic recording from decades ago. The song just feels brilliantly timeless.
Yeah, cuz pop rock songs has palm-muted guitars and double bass... the song is good, its a good comeback for the band, and hardwired is pretty basic, but it punches you in the face, wich i think is great at all
James hetfield is very natural man and sense of humor guy, i like her but Death magnetic is crap for me, i guess i m not only one that case, i love, my favorite album is, and justice for all and the black album mostly, master of puppets is too overrated, my opinion..
+R.A.s Reviews as you grow i guess you are responsible to all the kids listening and lookin up to you as a whole. back in 1980s, he must have been through alot to express the rage and anger along side with his band. had to face his demons, but thats how we had as fans "great music" it was his aggression we loved and remembered. but as he started to have a family and recovering from addiction he had to turn for the better. lots of respect to him for turning his life around for the better, his family, his fans, and his band cant be anymore happier. unfortunatly for some others in the band grows old miserable, with even more hate, anger etc which will soon lead to destruction. aggressive music should be a form of release...not to self indulge the rage more to get your self into trouble..
..he is a genius. with the guitar and as a lyricist. far better than mustaine. mustaine is jealous that metallica are the biggest metal band while megadeth are stuck below FFDP and a day to remember on festival bills hahaha look at you, jealous that u never made it. its sad..because you cant play, youre a jealous hater. over music god bless u.
***** Do you have a point strong enough to prove hes not a musical genius? Dave had 4 songs. He really didn't do much to change metallica at all. He was only in the band for 8 months. The songs metallica are most know for are WITHOUT him. And those bands were their inspiration yes. Which doesn't have to do much with James' natural creative mind. Which you are naturally born with. A lot of early Metallica's riffs are based off of blues scales. Name one band from that list that did the same. Some Blackened riffs for example are one of them. And HIT THE LIGHTS just to throw that out there. You clearly dont know much about musical intellect. Learn to appreciate music, maybe learn how to play a couple instruments. Open your mind.
So how do you expect Metallica to get away with all of that? They wouldn't, because its bullshit. I really think you should appreciate the music and accept that Metallica out does their influences and the people they have influenced. When you get Motorhead to cover one of your songs, you know you've made it lol I've never seen so much hate on metallica, just accept the facts bro. It is what it is. Mustaine and megadeth arent ever talked about, nobody mentions them as an influence. But you always here metallica. They are 100% legit not ripping off anybody. Hit the lights is obviously hetfields, idk where the fuck you got all these false facts. Maybe thats why it seems like you have no musical intellect. And yes, creative mind is exactly what it is when your creating masterpieces like Metallica does. Please dont resort to insults, its the lowest point of maturity. When youre angry, like you are, then your intelligence drops enormously. Which might also help explain your lack of musical intellect. I'd start reading bro, and definitely learn and instrument.
+GloryDouble7198 You still haven't said anything relevant to proving James' Hetfield is not a musical genius. Accept pls because its a fact not opinion. Look at all this amazing music they created, appreciate man. If you can come up with all this bs then i know you're not dumb. So what is it that you don't understand. And honestly I couldn't understand all of your words due to grammar, no big deal cus i got the idea, but try next time? its easier to communicate that way. And do you have a main point that youre trying to get across? You just keep saying nonsense that doesn't go together
+GloryDouble7198 I think you're the one that was bringing an argument. I simply made a statement. I don't think you really have anything else to say. I definitely don't sound like a new fan, try another offense. I don't even know what your point in your argument is. Nothing has been proved. I feel like you come to metallica videos to waste time like this. Do you really have no entertainment? If you're not a fan how did you get to this video? Find something better to do, i think you dont agree with metallica being the best. So you resort to hating. come on man, its Metallica. Its good stuff
I can't even begin to tell how much i appreciate death magnetic just take suicide and redemption holy shit! its so great, people will always say that nothing is gonna be as good as black album or kill em all or whatever, they are getting older and acting accordingly
Yes sir. All the haters live in the past which Metallica has never been about. Even St Anger was great (hear me out lol). That was their worst album musically no question we all know it. Hell they know it but the balls it took to make that album in that time for them was an incredible feat. Most other bands would not have made it through that. Then DM comes out. It was a total revival for them.
The day that never comes, it just shows what they can still do. After about 4 minutes, the song just kicks off and goes into total trash madness, and i like it. I love Death Magnetic, and even The Unforgiven 3.
Death Magnetic is a punch to the face of those who thought that Metallica "couldn't make a good record after the Black Album" PS: Every Metallica album is GODLIKE
The people who talk shit about this album are the same type of assholes who pissed and moaned about Metallica making Load through to St. Anger and saying back then that they "need to go back to their roots". And then when they did finally attempt to, they gave them shit about "not being inventive enough". You honestly cannot win with these people. They're going to hate on anything these guys try to do and nothing is going to please them. I for one love Death Magnetic through and through. The production may be off, but beyond that are killer riffs, crazy time signatures and an energy within the band that I felt was lacking in the past few albums they made. As a matter of fact, I think I'll go listen to "My Apocalypse" right after I post this comment. Hardwired... To Self-Destruct is coming out soon, and I can't wait to check it out.
It really is a damn good album. It's always an enjoyable listen, too. It doesn't feel as long as it is. It's about 74 minutes, and it never feels like it's more than 45. I've been listening to them for 20 years now, and this album has gotten as much play in the past year as the first 4 did when I was a kid. Good interview from Hetfield, too. Dude always comes across as a kind person in the interviews.
@justmevlad1994 He's been that way since the band finished recording St. Anger. After he went sober, he spent more time with his family and I don't think I've ever seen him happier. =)
It's my favourite of the unforgivens. It brings about the close of the forgiveness cycle. 1 and 2 are fairly close in theme when it comes to not forgiving others and the like, but 3 is all about seeking forgiveness and redemption yourself after a lifetime of anger and hate, and not exactly being the best person yourself.
God I could listening to him for hours, I love how he talks....his words/perception....explain why i love that band sooo much...their honesty is a pretty good shield.AH!AHHH
Unforgiven 3 was incredible; the title was stupid but serioulsy that song kicks so much ass. If it came out in 1991 people would hail it as a masterpiece.
yes it is. =) I have the binge and purge booklet, and he's wearing one in a tiny pic on that one, and there was a video circulating around from the Re-load era with the "bubbly" version. But, It's true, he's always been into Venom, there's even pics of Kirk and Dave wearing one. You have to look for them pretty hard, but they're there.
Actually that Venom shirt is a new design I believe. The other times James wore a Venom shirt in the earlier days, it was the original one with the bubbly Venom logo.
I completely agree that That Was Just Your Life is perfect for live; the creepy intro sets the mood incredibly well and then the awesome riff kicks in.
Death Magnetic's weakest part is the production. The entire album sounds like a hive of wasps. A shame really, because the actual music is quite good. All Nightmare Long sounds MUCH better slowed down, which you can hear in the demo. But no way in HELL is The Unforgiven III the best of the 3. The Unforgiven from Black Album is so fucking good that's it's a contender for best Metallica song ever.
I love how James can just laugh everything off now, not so uptight. I really hope they get back to short thrash songs in the next album. In the meantime I'll listen to Annihilator and Megadeth who still make albums every couple of years.
Death Magnetic kicks major ass. Everything except My Apocalypse is great, and The Day That Never Comes, All Nightmare Long, Cyanide and Unforgiven III are so fucking awesome...
I heard James say in an interview that they're touring until this fall and that he already has "like 500 riffs" so the next album should be even better. I hope they put in Holy Revolver and Shine in it.
This rock star is a good example of how I personally like them to develop into. Honest guy, normal-feeling guy, but still you sense what a great character he his.
@BringerOfTruth123 They were both written the same way, everyone combining different licks and riffs, and tuning them to wrok with each other, then added lyrics.
yes, pictures are a part of PR as well. Now that was 30 years ago, and I do believe they genuinely liked them back then. But, it is quite possible that he doesn't like them anymore, now, 30 years later. But whether he likes them or not, it's no coincedence that the he wears a venom t-shirt after having released an album which is supposed to be them "going back to their roots". That's PR.
Death Magnetic -- nowhere near as good as Master Of Puppets, but at least it was better than that St. Anger debacle. Now if they could combine the full-on thrash of MOP and And Justice For All with the production quality of the black album, they'd have a major smash hit on their hands.
if they made another master of puppets, it would be the end for Metallica. they would have reached the end of their creative journey and it would be a greater fan suck-up/sell-out than anything they made in the 90s
6672rock If they tried that then people would complain and say they are just trying to make an album like master of puppets and they would still get hate.
@Gunnershaun1380 its a thing youtube does that makes everything that is said in the video into subtitles, but sometimes its not translated right and it becomes random and funny
This video could just be 6 minutes of silence where no one spoke one word for 6 minutes and I would still thumbs it up just because of the shirt James has on :P
I have so much respect for James, he doesn't even care about "hate", he just does what he likes, which is good music
@Eddie Venkman that's beyond the songwriting process, live they sound pretty good
I can't imagine Unforgiven 3 not making it on the album and that James had to fight to get it on there. That song is incredible.
S&M2 shows just how unforgettable the song really is. The orchestra playing the riffs was beautiful like a classical piece of music. Even makes the Death Magnetic version feel more like listening to a vintage classic recording from decades ago. The song just feels brilliantly timeless.
I would like to hear him talk about every song on every Metallica album.
Death Magnetic is a great album made by great people. I hope to hear the next one soon.
So what do you think of hardwired?
Moth in to the flame???
***** I think the Black Album should count. Load and Reload and Garage Inc were great too.
Yeah, cuz pop rock songs has palm-muted guitars and double bass... the song is good, its a good comeback for the band, and hardwired is pretty basic, but it punches you in the face, wich i think is great at all
FerTallica8 Metallica songs have always been ones that can punch you in the face. As well as having asskicking ballads
james sounds like a hippie, happy and positive, it ain't a bad thing at all
James hetfield is very natural man and sense of humor guy, i like her but Death magnetic is crap for me, i guess i m not only one that case, i love, my favorite album is, and justice for all and the black album mostly, master of puppets is too overrated, my opinion..
Hey just cuz you sing angry and sad music doesn't mean you have to be it in real life! You know?:)
Master of Puppets "too overrated", damn, my week is complete right now.....
Well then, he's the only hippy I've ever heard of that kills animals for fun. :/
VENOM T-SHIRT!
3:42 Cyanide is the 'Death Magnetic' song that is played live the most. This explains it.
Every song on this album is outstanding!!!!!!!!! (IMO)
i love death magnetic
James is a good person, so human, so cool, so sincere, you must love him
The Unforgiven III Is my fav too, which to most people might be strange.
James is a genius
..he is a genius. with the guitar and as a lyricist. far better than mustaine. mustaine is jealous that metallica are the biggest metal band while megadeth are stuck below FFDP and a day to remember on festival bills hahaha

Death Magnetic is a punch to the face of those who thought that Metallica "couldn't make a good record after the Black Album"
PS: Every Metallica album is GODLIKE
Death magnetic is one of my favorite albums, its a bit like ajfa
No... Not even close....
I think death magnetic should have been the next album after justice
@@pharfromnormal that's my take, after AJFA, there's DM and then H...TSD and then the black album, i just feel like it's a good transition
The Day that Never Comes sounds like it was unreleased from the Black album. It has that sound to it.
to me it sounds like 'One" part two
william jenkins Fade to Black 2
I think One,Fade to Black, and the Unforgiven are in some sort of "group" as their major ballads
It's a combination of Fade To Black & One.
Casey Parnell And maybe Sanitarium too
James was right about cyanide. It kinda became a stable metallica song in their most recent live performances. Fun song I gotta say.
I'm so glad he fought for Unforgiven III!
The quick cut to him drinking tea at 2:16 made me lol
I love "the day that never come's" 5 minutes of insanity, it makes it my favorite metallica's song
The people who talk shit about this album are the same type of assholes who pissed and moaned about Metallica making Load through to St. Anger and saying back then that they "need to go back to their roots". Why didn't people want Unforgiven 3 in the album? It's so good!
#vokalist

Я люблю шрека
James is crazy! All Nightmare Long is the best song on the album along with Cyanide.
I fucking love unforgiven 3.. and the others too.. I really can't decide which one I like the best
"Dude you're still in Exodus!"
3:30 WOOPP HEY HO HO
he's really well spoken. Can't say enough about how awesome this album is... The day that never comes and my apacolypse are my favorites.

Death Magnetic and Beyond Magnetic is just a hint to what a badass mother fucker new album will be.
I hope!
Ya man I can't wait for it
Did you like the new album?
lol
The Film Effect hahaha hell yeah man. much better too. wow crazy to read this now
For me the album isn't bad but the loudness gives me headaches
James you're my hero! Never stop making music!
James aged so quickly
Damn yeah I agree him The Unforgiven III is my fav & the best of them !

i never get tired of hearing james voice!
God I could listening to him for hours, I love how he talks....his words/perception....explain why i love that band sooo much...their honesty is a pretty good shield.AH!AHHH
I love Unforgiven III, glad that he fought for it.
Unforgiven 3 was incredible; the title was stupid but serioulsy that song kicks so much ass. If it came out in 1991 people would hail it as a masterpiece.
i love the way james speaks..so eloquent and no BS
James seems so chill , very nice :)
i love him, i dont ever want them to retire
Thanks for uploading
I heard it was coming out in 2011, they're supposed to start recording as soon as they're done touring and playing the Sonisphere

Thankyou metallica. LOVE THIS ALBUM !!!! WELCOME BACK FELLAS
Awesome, my most played song on my Zune player is Fade to Black. Rock on dude!
This is a man who believes in himself and his craft. Take notes, friends.
Death Magnetic's weakest part is the production. The entire album sounds like a hive of wasps. A shame really, because the actual music is quite good. All Nightmare Long sounds MUCH better slowed down, which you can hear in the demo.

+felynecomrade Drums sound like trash again though.
Yeah man well said. Unforgiven 3 is second best of the 3, but one of the top tracks of Death Magnetic.
I love how James can just laugh everything off now, not so uptight. I really hope they get back to short thrash songs in the next album. In the meantime I'll listen to Annihilator and Megadeth who still make albums every couple of years.

@purelh its been confirmed that in April-May next year they will go back in the studio. so were not gonna be waiting for very long! :D
This rock star is a good example of how I personally like them to develop into. Honest guy, normal-feeling guy, but still you sense what a great character he his.
his hair looks awesome like this !
I just heard the interview! its been uploaded on YT.
i saw them live like 2 weeks ago in LA it was the shit i hope i get to see megadeth live when their new cd comes out then i can die happy!
i have a lot of respect for james
@BringerOfTruth123 They were both written the same way, everyone combining different licks and riffs, and tuning them to wrok with each other, then added lyrics.
I love his laugh. I love his voice. I want to sound like him. James. You FUCKING ROCK MAN.
Welcome To Hell T-Shirt, I wonder if thats the same one he had since the 80's lol
Love his voice.
should make a whole album telling a story
great album, and james you rock!
Take a shot every time he says "y'know"
Even on the vh1 "behind the music" james talked about how they used to "thrash venom out on the stereo".
I Just Love This Guy !
Best album the put out in this century.
The thing that should not be is a longer title than broken, beat, and scarred
it would help a lot, if you couldn't tell it had JUST been purchased that day.
cant wait to hear a live version of All Nightmare Long
I think he wants his guitar with him judging by all his hand gestures
DM rocks
my favorite songs are my apocolypse, all nightmare long, unforgiven III.
metallica + deep purple = perfection
Love this man

@Gunnershaun1380 its a thing youtube does that makes everything that is said in the video into subtitles, but sometimes its not translated right and it becomes random and funny
I love you James
JAMES IS THE BEST!!!
Load and Reload combined, and cut in half make one great album.
I hope the new album still had speed song one or two. \m/
Though I'm partial to all of the unforgivens and they all have that very relatable aspect in them, I think the first one was the best.
This video could just be 6 minutes of silence where no one spoke one word for 6 minutes and I would still thumbs it up just because of the shirt James has on :P
: O Norwegain interview!
I LOVE JAMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"the song meal" makes so much sence
