I just learned something. Today I spent untold hours using my bubble balancer (just like yours) for the first time to balance my wheels but when I would take the wheel off the balancer to place the weights and put it back on the balancer, the reading would be crazy off. I didn't realize it would help to index the balancer ("North") in order to place it on the stand in the exact same position every time. Thanks!!
Great idea how to home balance the wheels, thanks. If you turn to the wheels upside down, then you should be able to observe in real-time that the wheel is in balance when sticking the weights on.
I was marking it, and the floor, so I would not have to recalibrate the bubble when I use it next. I like to use tape weights in the center rather than on the sides. Looks nicer and works fine.

Why did you mark north south east and west for? Are you supposed to stick the weights in the center of the rim? Not the side
