Thank you for sharing this. I could not figure this out. Our mirror got broken out when parked in the street. Installed the new assembly easy enough. Saved the color cap from the first one and this helped me remove the white cover that came with the new part. Now it all matches up. You are so helpful. 👍👍👍
Thanks for the video! I'm about to replace a mirror on a 2018 Hyundai and would prefer to paint the cover OFF of the mirror assembly. Thanks for showing how to do it with a lot less fumbling.
@@kidvader8271 I got mine from 1A Auto. My mirror was damaged badly enough that the entire assembly had to be replaced. It was about $90 for a non-OEM model (TRQ MRA07065). The OEM is 87620-F3020. That's for a 2018 Elantra passenger side outside mirror with blind spot detection, heater, no blinker, ready-to-paint. Fun fact: The plastic cover is called a "scalp" by Hyundai (87626-F3000)
@@kidvader8271 I'm planning to paint it myself and that's why I needed to figure out how to get the "scalp" off of the mirror, without destroying it. I've been watching other RUclips videos on how to spray paint plastic trim and just ordered the right color of Hyundai spray paint - it's not easy to find.
Can buy new, the whole side mirror assembly on Amazon for $42.00. Really!!! And yes comes only in black so you need to either paint or use your old cover if it is intact.
You could've put it back on completely and showed us how to actually "massage" around the top. Or at least showed where the points are that's holding it on. But at least it's a starting point. Thanks.
Thanks for watching. Hope this helps.
