My god, that dynamic control is insane, incredible note accuracy aside. Unbelievable performance. I always used to come back to the Doug Perry video, but this seems to be much closer to how it's meant to sound and I'll be coming back to this one for sure. I wish I could still play marimba, been 5 years since playing and this video is making me want to play even more.
Brilliant. Christoph has mastered this instrument to the point where the musician and the instrument become one. The level of skill required is astounding. BRAVO!
This makes me both want to get better at marimba while also simultaneously making me want to weep in a dark hole because of my ineptitude to play that well
I have seen this piece attempted many times and this is one of the top 3 performances I have ever seen. Amazing touch, incredible note accuracy and you can really tell that you are enjoying playing this piece. Bravo and thank you for sharing!
You’ve got a new fan - ME. Love this composition, love this performance. You are very exciting to watch and delightful to listen to!! Impressed by the changes in timbre and im not talking about just when you do the col legno or whatever it is called here when you use the stem of the mallets but also the location of where you strike the bar. This really made me aware of possibilities with this instrument I had not really considered before. Makes me want to compose a piece for you.
Ich habe das Gefühl dieses Stück zum ersten mal zu hören........habe ich natürlich nicht. Aber so wie du das spielst, einfach unvergleichlich Grandios!
I like how you substituted a lot of parts that could use outer mallets, and instead used inner mallets. The way it looks when you play really does this piece well.
This is probably my favorite recording of this piece I’ve heard, which is hard to say because all who perform this piece are incredibly skilled musicians ❤️ also what mallets are those, and what marimba? I need to know because it sounds too nice
Was ist das für ein krasses Stück. Diese Kontraste zwischen Dynamik und Klang sind wirklich spannend! Cardio Training für den Interpreten inklusive. ♥️
I'm going to attempt this senior year of high school. Been playing some difficult solos but this... it's going to be tough and also i must make it musical and beautiful. This the perfect recording. You can tell how much the performer is into it. Just watch his face :)
hey Christoph, percussionist from Belgium here. First congrats for playing this so damn well, I really love your interpretation ! I wanna ask, any major tips on learning this piece? any advice is welcome, I'd appreciate it a lot 🙂

The accuracy, the sound, the expression... Simply top notch. Love it!
演奏されているのは1台のマリンバなのに、音色が無限にあり、いろんな情景が浮かびます。
私はマリンバではなくピアノを弾いていますが、こんなにたくさんの音色を使いこなせるようになりたいです。
A MASTERPIECE. Well done Mr. Christoph. 👏

Is the mallet you used Abe reed mallet? Then why did you use reed mallets? Please reply.
Hi, I am using Rattan mallets in general
Warum hast du das F und E in der ersten Seite eine Oktave tiefer gespielt?
You are korea army
my headphones couldn't handle the music @ 1:40. They started acting weird. I guess I'm not worthy.
