Another suggestion to people who have not disassembled a lot of wheels is to take pictures as you go!
I have a long history of taking things apart and never being able to figure out how to put them back together....I think I would like to adopt you.
extremely helpful and informative! quality content thank you
To change the tyre DO NOT DISCONNECT MOTOR LEADS. You don't need to. Open the cover on the NON motor side and remove that shell half. Then you just pry off the tyre and replace it. Did it that way on my Tesla to prevent disconnecting motor cables as doing so decrease the pressure on the contacts every time you split them apart. After a while there is a risk for arcing. When arcing starts you quickly loose connectivity and with lost connectivity (high resistance) comes more heat...and we all know what happens with hot gotway motor cables ;-)
Nice video, seems like you broke the seal on one side of the cover and you looked worried when you said motor cables were not damaged so i guess there was something there?
ty sir! hope all is well!
Thanks so much for this. I had to do my first msp tyre change today and this helped a lot.
you are amazing doing this for the community. every 500km i open up my Niko 1800 for dust cleaning too.
Cool! Thank you man!!!
Fantastic teardown -- you're ready for opening an EUC chop shop🤣
The connector color coding I suspect was to speed up assembly -- no thinking equals faster assembly. I am fairly new to EUC with an IM V10F this past Sept. I have heard much from the popular YTbers about GW past lack of QC, looks to me they are starting to get he msg! I am loving the this MSP for the low end power as I want to do more trails but I am going to hold out to see what IM will bring out with the next wheel.
Did the MOSFETs have a # on them? As a tech back in the day, I did a Motor Controller for an electric scooter as my final College project - just curious?
Cheers
Glad you enjoyed the video! As with all GW wheels being released as of right now, the MSP uses the TO-247 package for their mosfets, which is super beefy and nearly impossible to blow out under most riding conditions.
@@EUCOllective
But TO-247 refers to the shape of the package. What is the part number and manufacturer? There are all sorts of MOSFETs, IGBTs etc that come in a TO-247 package.
Amazing detail, you are to be congratulated
A ported enclosure will get louder bass in general for a given power supply, though less accurate.
For a sealed enclosure, the volume of air inside does make a difference but there’s no big choice to make there, it’s usually a set volume that gets the best results.
In this case a ported enclosure for bass could have introduced all sorts of resonances depending on the shell, unless it had an open port to the outside.
Not to mention the fact that those speakers don’t go very low anyway.
Super, thanks a lot 👍👍👍
Excellent video. Good to know info. But what do i need to do to just split the shell? Do i have to remove tire to do this? Do i have to remove the trolley handle? Please help.
vidéo très intéressante qui nous permet de bien visionné les divers parties d'une monoroue begode que ce soit la Msuper pro, la RS19, la msx qui se différencies très peu au niveau du montage intérieure des pièces.
Very informative.
Do you think you'll ever disassemble the motor of the msp pro? It would be nice to see the quality of the materials used. Thanks
While we haven't had a chance to open the motor, you should check out this clip from EcoDrift if you're curious! ruclips.net/video/WZPSzQ-Lqh8/видео.html
That’s silicone not silicon. The former is a soft, flexible polymer the latter is a hard, brittle chemical element.
You guys are awesome! Super informative. I pre-ordered the RST with you guys. I cant wait! Do you predict the internal components to be very similar?
Thanks for the kind words! Since the RS is the next generation in the MSuper-style line of 18 inch Gotway wheels, the internal components are likely to be similar, but there are some key upgrades to the RS that will change the layout a bit.
What kind of silicone/epoxy is on the connector ? If i need to replacing the inner shell, ill have to disconnect everything and i want to put it back in the new shell properly.
Thanks for your help
A list of tools in the description here would be helpful. Pedals, case, mounts etc.
To do a tire change, is it easier to remove the non main board side and flip it 90 deg ? And can that be done with the MSP, is there enough slack in the wires ?
Did you change the screws on side panels btw ? Coz the screws from gotway are crap
Jesus.... I’ll sell my wheel before needing to do a tire change. 🤦🏻♂️
Great to see. Thank you.
@euco I have an issue while replacing the batteries from a recall. I swapped out and reconnected the left battery pack without issue, but when I went to reconnect the XT60 connector on the right battery pack, I got a hot arc and burning smell on the black wire terminal. I quickly pulled them apart, but the black wire terminal prongs on the XT60 are now burned and I am not sure where I went wrong. Is there a way I can test if the connector is still good to use or if I need to re solder a new one? Also, what is the proper reconnection sequence so I don't burn something down?
So much hassle to replace Tyre :(
Incorrect, just replace it from the other side. Same as here: ruclips.net/video/D0pmpqzfHxw/видео.html
Outta Time Yeah, that’s wayyyy easier
..thank you for the insight into the new MSP internal! Now I get to see the new “MSX” mainboard which is inevitable given the new twin headlight, speakers and what not..it sure needed a new PCBA and separate 12v power module to take the load off the MB and the accessories connection to the colours and back light👍 great ..now I don’t need to buy a MSP to know what is inside. Hmm @25kg I would still wait out for a 2500w Tesla3 and hope it stay within 20kg to provide that maneuvering
do you have a waterproofing video?
Quick question: I blew a fuse on my Gotway MSuper V3, and when I took it into a repair shop the guy said the part I needed wasn't made anymore. What kind of person would be best to fix an EUC with a shorted motherboard?
I have a MSX 84V and would like to fit MSP headlight, would it be physically possible? MSP and MSX shell should be basically the same?
Daughterboard for MSP light? What does it do? Any pics?
So can water get in them holes under the headlights ?
Yellooo. So, I have a quick question with regards to the tire removal. The question is, would it be wise to loosen screws a bit in order to make the tire removal easier?
Good question! Yes, you can loosen the screws holding the outer shell halves together to make it a little easier, but just make sure not to pinch any wires when screwing them back together if you choose to do this. Some may not be comfortable risking pinched wires for a tire change, so we didn't loosen these screws for this guide.
How many pins is the fan and is it a 40x40x20mm? I want to replace it with something better like Noctua
Where is the gyroscope?
Its a chip on the mainboard
I have a KS 16x in need of a full shell replacement. Do you know anyone looking to do a repair vid? If not, I was just going to send it back to ewheels for repair or maybe end up doing it myself if funds are tight.
Please tell me I don't have to go that far to replace the trolley handle. 27:46
The trolley rods and handle can be replaced after removing just the pedals and outer shells! Everything else can stay in place. We just chose to remove them later on during the disassembly, but they can certainly be taken out much earlier with everything else still installed.
Do you know of a fault with the mother board which affects the lights
Hello, usually when the lights are malfunctioning on a Gotway/Begode wheel, the DC output board (a smaller board attached to the control board assembly) has failed, and this usually requires the control board to be replaced as DC output boards from different control board revisions may not be compatible.
First thing i am doing when i ger my euc is taking out the beeper and speakers on this.....and side lights
Why
@@drewaguilar8446 the speakers is dead weight don't even use it and the beep is annoying
Should I return my rs19 ht?
muito bom 😨👍
what about the gyro? 00:00 ?
Hi Hugh, the balancing circuitry in electric unicycles is actually built into the control board, which contains a component that measures the wheel's orientation at all times. This information is sent to the processor, which can determine how much the wheel needs to turn in order to keep the rider balanced in the forward/backwards direction. However, much like a bicycle, the rider will need to keep the wheel balanced in the side-to-side direction. Hi everyone Im have one getaway rs 30 this band new I bought just 2 week ago when the day I have I turn on all the light turn on 1 minute all turn off can help me thanks everyone
So much silicone its going to be impossible to replace the shell if you ever get a crack.
Which manufacturer makes the batteries? I heard from one channel it was Samsungs latest and greatest, but i have read in a lot of places its still just LG chems. Did you cheggit? I doubt Gotway would spend cash on Samsung quality when they can buy LG for cheap and most noobs dont care. But...you never know right :)
It is not easy job
That thing does not looks very rigid AT ALL
