If I remember correctly, the J37 pump should take something like 110 hp to spin at full speed and pressure. Not surprised that it causes some erosion at those flows.
I wouldn't mind it if you did this sort of reviewing of cool stuff on a regular basis. There's the potential to become something really cool, this 'museum presentation' of interesting auto/aero stuff.
Awesome! Expensive parts in that time 😁 Swedish ”Foppa” have a ”tunnan” cabincompressor to blow his Harley. Awesome build, check Motornörd to have a look. Both cool mecanics and art 👍🏻
Earo / space craft and also Motorcycle delevopement went ahead of production car developement. The technique of multivalve engines is more then 90 years old. Good video to show what has been made in early and later days, before any car enthouisiast picked it up. Electronics today is a good aid to control, but never forget about mechanical way of improvement. Learn basics from the old days engineers
I’ve got a vampire jet cabin pump almost identical to that one on my 1931 Austin 7. Probably quadruples the power of the tiny car…. Till the block let go 😂 So yes. They work as a supercharger
They are all decommisioned since long time ago so i think it's ok. In Sweden it's not that strict as in the US once parts has been finaly out of the lists and properly decommisioned.
@@EddieIrvine106 Jo, men jag är faktiskt litet osäker på om det egentligen är samma sak i Sverige också, att allt militärt material tekniskt sett tillhör kronan, även om ingen lär bry sig. Kul video hursomhelst!
Boeing actually uses something very similar in the B787. I believe it is electrically driven instead of mechanically driven. Bleed air systems have issues with oil contamination to the packs and it appears that manufacturers are moving away (or exploring) from these types of systems to pressurize aircraft.
On extremly rare occations one can find aircraft parts on surplus here, or at least one could a few ears ago, but those he most likly got fropm other sources. Honestly i hawe not found Engine parts from Swedish warplanes on Ebay yet.
did you open LPG pump from LPG gas station, i need some pump that would be able to pump LPG from tank to engine, because pressure inside of tank can vary and in winter is very low so engine does not get enough fuel at full power
Varifrån får man tag i såna coola grejer? Jag vill ha nån sovenir från JA/AJS37 att sätta upp på väggen hemma men det sägs att ingenting får lämna flygfältet i Halmstad utan vidare.
No worries, there are already a couple yt channels which are doing videos on old military items and avionics, fixing them if needed and operating them if possible under lab conditions. Neither of these channel owners were imprisoned 🙃

Love watching people just doing what they enjoy. Just video for our pleasure and no bs. Thanks from nz
As a product designer / fake engineer I really enjoy videos like this. Thank you
Rikligt fränt att vi lyckats sy ihop en del stridsplan på egen hand här i Sverige 🇸🇪
Japp, Sverige har eller åtminstone har haft bra ingenjörer som man kan vara stolta över 🤓💪

Simpel reliable design on that old viggen pump 👌

Billet block, perhaps? What engine are you running?
Your an inspiration to Mankind Brother! Greets from Southern Sweden near Halmstad btw! 🙂

Thanks 🙏
Where did you find the pumps for the airplanes? Things like that is not very usual and must be hard to get, I guess. Nice video 👍😎🛩️
I think he worked for saab
People buy and sell space program parts going back to the first launch on ebay. You're assumption is incorrect.

Thanks Peter, really enjoyed this video

Ok that's something wouldn't look for but I'm here and watching it anyways
I love a good show and tell

Thanks Nice video.

Cool video! Do they only use one pump?
That pump is dedicated to the afterburner, it's not the main pump for the engines it self.
