I was cruising through looking for the YYZ version with Niel's long solo and came across this. I thought...ok... kid concert... I'm the mood for some cheese. All I can say is that was 100% badass! The more it went on the more I was impressed. this...is...a ...single..... 11 year old kid! It got to the end and I was waiting for the audience to go out of it's mind... I was... I even had a lighter up in the air and all this girl got was crickets. Whoever you are keep doing your arrangements.

Fourth time watching this clip since discovering it 40 minutes ago. I bought this album when it came out in 81. I know every note of this song intimately. This is the most true and accurate recreation I have ever heard. People have commented for years on how amazing it was that Rush could make the sound they do with just three guys. This girl is nailing it all by herself. Amazing performance. Then recognize she is only 10 years old at the time.

Near as I can tell, the keyboard is a STAGEA ELS-01C (Electone.) I couldn't figure out how she could do what she did, until I looked at the manual. For one thing, on the lower rank, there's buttons a player could hit without her hands leaving the area of the keyboards to change voice settings. There's also a knee operated solo mode which could be used to switch to a solo voice on the upper manual (This is a very expensive keyboard even in used condition.)

I won 1st place at a Yamaha Electone Organ Festival when I was a kid. My tour de force was a raunched up version of The Beatles "Eight Days A Week"...complete with heel/toe walking bass lines, and a hybrid playing style, sort of Earl Grant meets Vincent Crane. It's so nice to see a young person such as yourself using the pedals so proficiently. It was a pleasure watching you play!

She's from Japan. I correspond with her father and he's a single parent. Her father writes in English (albeit barely) , but his daughter is very talented. I asked her to perform La Villa Strangiato but that may be too much. YYZ was tough enough.
Ameri did come to the U.S. last year for six months as an exchange student and earlier last year she and her father were visiting Los Angeles, but I could not visit them. Sad thing though, her father is extremely worried about her health, especially after Fukushima. I have a feeling he wants her to move here to the U.S. or maybe Canada.
