Hiking Kauai Hawaii through the best environments Kauai has to offer. No permits or planning required for these hikes, just weather permitting. Trails rated easy, moderate and difficult. Starting with Hoopii falls showing where to jump off of the falls and a great cliff to jump from into Kapaa stream. The moderate hike winds through dense jungle and forest, has ancient Hawaiian ruins and two amazing waterfalls. The first of which is a waterfall you can swim under and jump off of.
The second hike is to Secret Beach and Dragons Breath. The Easy trail leads down a bluff then along Secret beach. After the beach you walk across rocks spotted with tide pools to swim and soak in and it's a great location and hike to watch for whales on the East side of Hawaii. Secret Beach has surfing but is very dangerous. Just across from The Lighthouse the trail ends at an amazing Waterfall at Dragons Breath.
Third is Nounou Mountain otherwise known as The Sleeping Giant. Located in wailua very near Kapa'a. The mountain has three trail heads but only two have parking. The Koomo nounou trail is 3 miles and rated difficult because it is uphill the entire way. The trail winds through guava forest and offers views of Wailua, Kapaa and Kapihi in East Kauai. Parking is limited in both the East trail parking lot and Koomo Nounou trailheads.
