I have this issue. I remember being disappointed when Sasquatch was killed off. I’m happy it didn’t last long.

    ALPHA FLIGHT # 23.
The stakes are even higher than the death of a character: the stakes are Walter's undying soul.
And it doesn't take months and months and months for Snowbird to realize it. Instead of being just another kill-crazy female character, Narya understands the ramifications of destroying "the physical form" of Walter Langkowski and IMMEDIATELY seeks to save the soul of her fallen friend.
Narya---Snowbird---often only thought of as being aloof and not wanting to have much to do with mankind, even though it is her duty to protect it from evil threats like The Great Beasts. She will not leave Langkowski's spirit to be trapped (with Tanaraq's) in the Kingdom of the Beasts.
It doesn't get much better than this.
Oh, and Aurora (who is hinted strongly as being a bit more than just flirtatious in previous issues) actually cares about Walter.
And all the characters in the cornerbox are in the issue.
The 1st of the two best issues of ALPHA FLIGHT.
