I was born 3.5 months early. I was also in the NICU for 100 days. But they had to discharge me really early because there was measles and mumps going around and if I got that I could die.
I was born three months premature in 1969 weighing 2 lbs 13 ounces. I dropped down to 2 lbs 8 oz and was in hospital 54 days. Went home at 5 lbs. Now 50 years old.
Awww..my daughter was born 1lb 4oz..she's had 2 surgerys,it was scary but ,now 2020 she's Gona b 23..((bunny😊) healthy..bless these miracle swestpeas⬆️🌈🤭😘😊
Such a sad documentary!!! I hope all goes well for these precious little children who are sick. What a lovely video💞💖💞. I have been watching all of your videos this afternoon. Great job making this video. This actually reminds me of my Nana who was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) before I was born (I was born on July 22, 2003). She survived it, but she still struggles a lot, though. I know that has nothing to do with the kids in your documentary but I just wanted to bring it up anyway. Love: 🎉Memoriesofangels Forever4years🎉
That was tough watching that tiny baby be put into a helicopter. The poor mother laying in her hospital bed while they take her baby away💔💔 But when mom and dad loaded baby Jacob in the car to go home was awesome!!!
Only 7 mins in but the dad of the little girl was kinda rude to that nurse! She told them the dr had an emergency and he said “oh another emergency, I won’t even ask what it is” I know he’s nervous about his daughter, which is completely understandable but don’t be rude to the nurse dude! Oh wow and rude to the dr! Geez
That's not how I took it at all. I didn't hear another. You're sitting there nervous about your child having surgery and trying not to think about any conplications. Then you learn that the surgery is delayed because of a complication which gets you thinking again that your child could have a complication. That's why he didn't want to ask what it was. He didn't want to know to get his mind going there.
@@faeryfloss358 I understand that. But since the doctor they were using was in surgery with a kid having complications it reminded the father that his daughter could also.
Yeah he made some kind of comment like “oh we have to wait longer” his tone was rude. I understand he’s nervous about his child having surgery but he was just kind of smug. The nurse who told him what was going on even noticed his attitude. You could tell by her tone.

The parents of the little girl seem rather self-absorbed and insensitive.... emergencies have priority. They act panicky and don’t hold themselves together for the little girl. Image the impact it has on the little one. And in the post-op update, the mother asks if the girl still looks cute and the doctor didn’t cut lots of hair... bizarre behaviour throughout...
Why did a helicopter have to be called for this baby? Was it even necessary to take this lady’s baby that far away from her?? Babies, especially preterm babies, need their parents especially their mothers
Instantly when they said the baby had a bruise on the back of his head and started blinking his eyes i thought the damn DOCTOR did it while delivering...I do not trust them, it’s soooo sad☹️
Why are parents kept away as much as possible in Canada and the USA hospitals from their sick kids they can't go into the anesetic room which is wrong especially if the child's surgery is life or death and also when the child's taken to another hospital they rarely go with them .I think parents should have more rights in my opinion .
Your opinion is based in feeling and not reality. The reality is that your child could die if an infection sets in during surgery. And if they are transferred without a parent it's because the child's needs are top priority. Making room for a parent can mean life saving equipment cannot be on board or those transporting do not have space to care for your little one. Only a selfish parent would insist their need to be close supercedes their child's health and safety
@@chloeshann8142 Hayley is right. Kids are traumatized and don’t understand what’s going on and to be abruptly separated from their parents only heightens their anxiety. Parents wouldn’t be in the hospital if they’re sick! One parent should be able to go into theater in scrubs to be with their child until they’re asleep. I honestly think that you should think before you comment as your comment was nasty
@@biancasadventures8463 this series of videos was filmed around 2000. things were different then. but sick children today are also traumatized even with their parents. why? because serious disease and medical intervention is traumatizing. its painful and frightening.
My son was born at 23 weeks , in the NICU for 167 days. He is now 2 years old and perfect.

That hospital saved my life
My daughter was born at 30 weeks, 2 1/2 lbs, John Hopkins NICU. The nurses & Dr's there were amazing in the early 90's.

I remember watching this episode when I was younger. At least 10 years ago.
Because of the pandemic they are showing retro shows again to add more content I believe.
It was already pretty old 10 years ago.
Poor little guy!
Why children have to suffer I'll never understand.
Adults suffer just as much. It’s not like we enjoy seeing our peers suffer and say “oh another adult is sick”

Yes, and very inconsiderate of the other child, especially considering they are wearing the uniform of a religious sect.

They belong to some kind of religious sect.
Right what if it we're their little girl and Dr said, poops, sorry. Gotta go. Gotta stay on schedule
Agreed
She said the cutest patient not does she still look cute! They are both great, and weren’t rude at all. 🙄

That ear surgeon must be related to Trump! "it's going to be perfect" "It's the best ever!"
I feel sorry for anyone related to trump that's a total nightmare that would be an insult
Maybe the baby is having difficulty opening eyes as so bright?
No

Why do McKenzie's parents annoy me?
It seems they annoy just u
They act like the doctors should not see anyone else well it doesn't go that way its a hospital there are more patients to take care of
