Lyrics:
Like anyone would be
I am flattered by your fascination with me
Like any hot-blooded woman
I have simply wanted an object to crave
But you, you're not allowed
You're uninvited
An unfortunate slight
Must be strangely exciting
To watch the stoic squirm
Must be somewhat heartening
To watch shepherd need shepherd
But you, you're not allowed
You're uninvited
An unfortunate slight
Like any uncharted territory
I must seem greatly intriguing
You speak of my love like
You have experienced love like mine before
But this is not allowed
You're uninvited
An unfortunate slight
I don't think you unworthy
I need a moment to deliberate
I was not ready for the backup singer at the very end to just completely blow my mind and give me chills
We should not forget the whole amazing band around them, but damn, Sofia' and Roopa's voices are amazing treasures…
Thank you :)
And here I was with an empty inventory of “bone-rattling spinal chills” that needed filling. Bless y’all for bailing me out in time.
The dissonance of the horns completely captures the right mood.
Pissonance
Ok this is gonna be in heavy rotation on my Spotify for at least the next week. Love how Sophia references Alanis' vocal style but also makes it her own, and then Roopa comes in and puts the cherry on top.
🙏🏽😍
She nailed it with that first note. How does her voice adapt to every genre so effortlessly?
Didn't expect carnatic vocals in the end... y'all are amazing.
Thank you for the Carnatic shoutout!
@@RoopaMahadevan You are doing god's work by ensuring Carnatic music transcends our community, Miss Mahadevan. Thank you.
I'm obsessed with this singer! With all of the singers With "brass against". I can't take my eyes off of this girl's mouth and the way she pronunciates and expresses the lyrics! Totally totally amazing! And this band does the covers so much better than the real version.
I've come back again to watch this for the umpteenth time and still got goosepimples from Sophia's voice.
And I like her freckles as well :D
sophia’s voice is pure liquid gold. thank you everyone for your wonderful covers. you always make my mornings brighter
Hah, the irony of liquid gold
"liquid gold" certainly has a different meaning now
Lol this aged perfectly
Lol!!
Oh the irony🤣🤣🤣
Where are they performing next? Asking for a friend....
Lovely skin, she must keep herself well hydrated.
😂😂😂😂
😭😭😭😭
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Woooo
I dunno. Let's ask that guy who was at Rockville.
Still so dark and heavy with the brass. Very impressive. Nailed those vocals
She's gorgeous. "We know who" is a lucky man lol.
He definitely got the VI P treatment
This is a story he will be telling his grandkkids, as soon as they're old enough.
I don't know who.
Amazing as always. Thank you to all for sharing your beautiful gifts with the world.
Sophia has such a versatile, and beautiful voice.
She goes from Cochise, to killing in the name of, to this. These guys are really killing it.
@@biscuityumm2458 they certainly are killing it ... in the name of ...
Very, very. Amazing to do those rough rage rock voices, then turn around and do this, super clean clear voice.
Very, very. Amazing to do those rough rage rock voices, then turn around and do this, super clean clear voice.
She can also pee like a man.
Loving the tabla. Amazing feel and atmosphere from the whole band. Sophia's voice, always amazing. One of the best covers from Brass Against I think.
Incredible cover, Roopa's vocals were the cherry on top.
Thanks a ton!
This song was a beautifully elegant and mysterious journey. Spectacular vocals by Sophia and Roopa.
Thanks a ton!
Purely magnificent! A tour de force of power and drive. An honest and uncompromising cover the likes of which Alanis herself would be deeply moved. Well done Brass Against! Encore! Encore!
Her tone is heavenly
Another fantastic and breathtaking piece. I love what Roopa brings here!
Thanks so much :)
Sophia + Roopa: just magic!
Thanks so much!
Feels like I am getting some glorious shower of her golden voice.
came looking a comment like this, wasnt dissapointed.
😂😂😂😂😂😂👍👍👍👍
Gross
I'm trying to convince myself you weren't aware of said shower, thus making your comment ever moreso golden.
She can spot on cover Rage Against the Machine and Alanis Morisette, that's some serious range.
That ending!! 🙌
The whole performance was absolutely beautiful, with miss Urista showing her fantastic talent and range
The vocals gave me the chills on this one!
Brass Against does THE BEST covers ... so inspiring ... such talent from ALL involved.
Yep. Best covers. Covered in PISS. 666
Fantastic! Great to see Roopa and Suphala sitting in again. Sophia sounds uncannily like Alanis.
Thank you :)
Oh man.......hairs on the back of my neck! I have goosebumps all over.....that voice is beautiful, sublime, intense, it is EVERYTHING.....and Jesus what a performance by everyone....
the kinda song one would get pissed to
What a beautiful voice; such a joy to listen to her sing, accompanied by these great musicians.
Love Alanis, love Sophia, love Brass Against!
i just came here becouse of the News about what hapen On stage....
but You Guys amazing ..
good Job
They should cover Chumbawumba's "Tubthumping". That "Pissing the night away" chorus would be so fitting.
I clicked for anything with Sophia in it, and (impossibly) got more than I expected, but that outro vocal line got me all misty eyed.
Excellent performances all around.
Just saw Alanis perform this in concert last week and, just like then, CHILLS. Amazing cover.
I just found out that I missed her show at Jones Beach a few weeks ago and am SO UPSET! Apparently Garbage was the opener!! I hope you had an amazing time.
Ahhh! We're flying from Ontario Canada to Vegas to go see her at beg on October!!!!!!! So excited. And we just watched the premiere of her documentary! So gooood
Might just be a full bladder
I got chills too but i think its hypothermia from all my piss soaked clothes after their last show
This has been in the top 10 of my most favorite songs of all time, ever since it appeared in 'city of angles'. I was never a fan of Alanis's music, you however have given this song the performance it deserves. The instruments are spot on and your voice perfectly complimenting both the music and the song.
Please, do more of this. Frequently.
This song will always hold a special place for 80’s babies/90’s kids.
It's literally about abortion, so yes, you're right.
Where did that interpretation come from?
Or any Canadian...
@@little.bear344 NOPE, and I am calling you out as a Gen X because this movie is from the movie "City of Angels". If you actually did your research, Alanis said it's about the POV of the lead character and her talking to Death. Nick Cage was an angel in that movie who actually falls in love with Meg Ryan's character which is odd and "not allowed" since he is an angel. Get your facts straight.
TIL the lyrics to this song... wow amazing... and the lyrics complexity during singing... and with Sophia and Roopa singing as well... amazing.
Sophia is hauntingly amazing on this one.
This music from this band is a true gift! It resonates in my soul!
Brilliant choice for a cover. Did not know Sophia's voice could be so smooth. Damn. Love the camera motion in this video as well!
My favorite brass band plying my favorite Alanis Morissette song? I'm here for it. Brilliant arrangement, all!
She's fast becoming my favourite singer.
what a perfect musical arrangement... what a perfect voice of Sophia!!!!
putting METAL back into the music. Hail to the kings!
I love the tubist character. He is so awesome.
Is the Golden Shower part of the Service I get in a Concert???
Love this. This is by far my favorite Alanis song, and one of my favorite songs of the '90s in general.
When it rains it pours
I will always be grateful for each and every song y'all put out. It's like y'all know exactly what I need. Thank you!
Please cover Territorial Pissings, November Rain and Even Flow. And maybe Umbrella. I hope to see you live one day and I'm taking an umbrella.
Eyy quit takin the piss mate!
Raining Blood!
Quit pissing around maan
Purple Rain. You should see a doctor about that. Only happy when it rains. He did seem quite happy.
I hadn't heard this song in years... Forgot how amazing it is. Spectacular performance all around! Thank you!
FANTASTIC! Keep the tabla and Carnatic vocals coming! They compliment Sophia and the energy the brass and co. always bring. Thanks for sharing!
Yes! I've really been enjoying the addition of Roopa and Suphala on the recent tracks! They add a whole new dimension.
@@SophiaRavenna thanks so much!
Thanks a ton!
@@SophiaRavenna How are the water sports coming along? Flomax much in front of family?
By far ... BA has been the most interesting music in my life over the almast 2 yrs; & OH HOW I APPRECIATE!
This is a much different song compared to the earlier ones covered by BA. Would love to know the thought process behind choosing this one. Loved it.
Wow!!! Just Wow! The brass captures the tension so perfectly and Sophia….GODDESS!!!
her voice gives me the chills and tinkle down my legs...
could sing own song ,dam great killer voice (great band too)
What a golden voice
I've always had a thing for Alanis' music, this was beautiful
For a live studio recording, I expected the vocals to be... wetter. 👀
And steamier.
I can't even believe this level of vocal came out of Sophia's 👄. Alanis has one of the sweetest sounds I've heard and she just equalled it seemingly effortlessly 😍
After hearing all the RATM covers and seeing how effortlessly Sophia is able to unleash her angry voice, it makes me doubly impressed how well she is able to completely smash this song.
Well, when you have a damn river pushing against the walls of your bladder, harsh vocals become easier.
I'm impressed with how effortlessly she is able to unleash her angry bladder.
Dayum! I gotta go back and listen to the OG cut, but I'm pretty sure this one is better.
Love this. More Alanis please!!
''I am flattered by your fascination with me
''
''I must seem greatly intriguing''
These lyrics aged like fine wine
Sophia owns everything she sings.
So much this.
Does she own it because she sings it well, or does she own it because she pees on it?
@@Cod3Thr33 she's marking her territory.
In pretty sure they are all owned by other bands
Owns covers of songs? They don't have anything original.
This song and Sophia's singing gave my nervous system chills.
New Life for a great track!!! Urista's voice is the clearest she ever had👍👏👏👏 Pure Magic!
Not many songs give the bumps.. this... wow
Whoa!! Sophia really showing the vocal chops! I have been a fan for a long time now. This performance one of her best. Hands down. Major props to Roopa as well and of course all of B.A. !
Appreciate it!
Uninvited, Sophia, Roopa, AND a Godin A6ULtra in the opening shot??? What could be better??!?!?
I forgot about this song. Nice job with it.
Sophia, you are incredibly versatile. Beautiful.
This group never disappoints. Powerful.
Stunning,,, cannot wait to see you at The 02 LONDON with TOOL
Amazing voice 😍 great band to back her up too. In all honesty, I would not have known about this group if it wasn't for that stage incident 😂.
What stage incident?

The only vocalist I know of who can competently sing, scream and rap.
She's a professional singer and they are all professional musicians... I wouldn't expect less than a professional performance here.
Beautiful, wonderful control of those God given vocal folds
Anyone else end up here because of story all over social media? Amazing, no stunts needed, although it did get me here.
Hola, soy de Argentina, hace unos días que vengo escuchando sus interpretaciones. Son excelentes músicos. Acá ya son famosos. Gracias por compartir
This is absolutely incredible, only BA could possibly create such an amazing cover of such a special song...and Sophia is perfection!!
Wow. First vocal, first 10 seconds, the instrumentation, Sophia's pristine melody. Just wow. Freakin' amazing!!! So much love for everyone contributing to this musical adventure that is @brassagainst!
“Imagine those horn players spent years reading sheet music and playing their instruments only to be known as “the cover band whose lead singer pissed on a dudes face”…
NOT MY COMMENT its @Derek D comment
Sorry to say this but it got my attention. I never heard of them before and now I'm listening.
TAKING MY COMMENT FROM METAL INJECTION I SEE YOU.
Hey thanks 😎
Good grief this is good, Sophia's voice is just superb, the low brass builds are lovely, has a scintillating middle-Eastern vibe. Really well done 👏 👏 👏.
Great band all around!
Sophia is an actress. Great Alanis imitation, btw!. Ethnic vocal lights it up. Many thanks!
Wow. Powerful performance. A great choice of song. Sophia nails it
Comments in the last 72 hours vs Comments from a month ago lmao
I was digging this version, having fallen headlong into this Uninvited rabbit hole, when the Indian singer chimed in,...then I was sold...
This is fire !🔥 This shows off Sophia’s voice in a whole new way! Love the tabla!
I;m not a big vocalist fan per se, but this young lady impresses the bejeebers out of me.
"I think I heard a shot!"
Damn, woman. You make the songs your own but still channel the original artist. The whole Brass Against team is just a musical delight. Thank you!
The ending with Roopa's vocals 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks so much :)
I think I saw all of the songs by ... "brass against". And I will have to say this is the most beautiful. Her Facial expressions are so powerful. Such umm emotion. Love her ... MOUTH.
Another great cover and nice one-take video from the camera person...
Really a great cover. Alanis herself could not have done it better. Love the tabla, such a great sound!
Anyways, the camera work is making me feel a little sea sick 🥺
Tem cada banda maravilhosa nesse mundo ❤️❤️❤️ Vocês são sensacionais 😲😲
Killed it...again.
Clearly you're more than ready for Faith No More so let's just do this. Any song will be grand, but I'd argue "King for a Day"-era FNM would be the most potent Venn-intersection with Brass Against. Thanks in advance :)
Great suggestion! Please do "the gentle art of making enemies", and I can happily die!
Star A.D. is the obvious choice for this band.
Ooooh... now I want Mike Patton/Sophia duets.
