I'd encourage teaching young kids crocheting. A few years ago I watched a PBS special where an elementary school teacher had her class learn to crochet. It significantly increased their reading scores. I suspect its similar to how kids who learn a musical instrument have better reading scores: hand/eye coordination, utilizing both sides of the brain simultaneously, etc. Plus, I did crocheting in 4-H and absolutely loved it. :)

The cast iron pan Dagney showed you was an Aebelskiver pan. Sometimes spelled Ebelskiver. They are used to make round pancake balls. You can fill them with apple 🍎 - or any other jam you prefer...also great filled with chocolate chips.. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve. Some people also use butter, syrup and whipped cream at the table. They freeze well; reheat briefly in the oven or microwave. The glass "scooper" is to be used to sweep crumbs from your tablecloth with a matching glass-handled brush. Very popular in Victorian times.😊

That is a Monk Pan she was holding. It's for making Ableskievers (sp?). A Swedish Popover-type. Made with a sourdough batter. You pour in your batter into the wells. When they are dry around the edges, you flip it over with a fork and fry the other side. When done, flip the now round popover out of the pan. It will be somewhat hollow inside. You can fill it with jelly or a cooked meat. They are delicious. You must have a gas cook top to cook them....electric wont get the pan hot enough, I don't think. I used to make these all the time. Sprinkle powdered sugar on them.

The apple thing you were as about, it Danish, it make round pancakes. A long time ago people put a little piece of apple in the middle of the pancakes. I n Danish they are called "æbleskiver". We eat them up to Christmas, we deep them in powdered sugar and strawberry jam. You should try them they are good. The original recipe is from the 1700's.

The Wedgwood teacup that has a chip, would be a great planter for a succulent!

‘Amazing’ finds lie in the eyes of the beholders, as with the Monster High dolls for Jenny and the Shopkins for Juliet :) 🇨🇦

Hi. That glass "Scooper" you picked up and named is for nuts/snacks to walk around and serve to your guests who usually would be seated.

LODGE Cast Iron is the best! I am from South Pittsburg TN where it is manufactured. They are also home to the National Cornbread Festival sponsored by Martha White. The festival is the best!

I have a few of those glass starburst candle holders and I love them! 🌟 No idea who makes them though, but they look great on a bookshelf. That Avis pottery piece is gorgeous!!! The color and glaze are spectacular! ♥ But that spider! 😲🕷😱 Oh, and speaking of MacKensie Child's, I found my 1st piece a few weeks ago! It was just a mini faux flower decor piece, but hey! 😊 Aww that fox ashtray was too cute! ~Caroline
