Hey @themowerman great video as always. I have a late 80's Hayter, with the front drive belt pulley hidden under the height handle. My belt is very loose, but there looks to be little to no room to slide the belt from the pulley out between the mower body. Going to be hard to install a new one. Any tips ?

Hi Mick Thanks to your video I have replaced the belt on my harrier 56 and now have drive, replaced the air filter, drained and replaced the oil as it was smoking and overfilled. but why wont it maintain revs? What could be the issue?? I have bought this recently second hand here in Poland. New blade coming from UK as can't get them here!!
Sounds like it needs a carburetor clean and main jet drilling.. I will send you a link to a video I have done that can help..

@@themowerman Thanks very much Mick for all your help. Hayter 56 now working properly. New Belt, New filter, Cleaned the injector jet, new blade, changed oil and now running and cutting as in your videos.

Nice vid Mick. I do the same on these 480 series, but I remove off the rear pulley first, and refit on the rear pulley last, it's much easier for me.

@@themowerman older ones are pretty good, but the best ones are the simple flathead or L-head engines. Easy to work on and reliable
Hi Mick I lost drive then found the back cog/ pulley has come off what keeps the pulley on it's an old lovely harrier 48 with roller any advice would be very helpful

Good work! Top tip (from an unpublished video of mine removing the coil on a WM80) for dealing with steel fixings corroded into Aluminium, If it's a screw, use a screw driver you can hammer on the back of, two sharp hard blows breaks the corrosion. Suspect you could do the same with an appropriate drift and a hammer. I recommend at least a 16 oz hammer if not 24.
