GY6vids you should try putting some silhouettes behind the steel. Would love to see what kind of damage the spalling does. That’s the whole point behind APIT rounds is it not?

These rounds are mean, they were pretty much the round of choice in ammo belts used in WWII US aircraft later in the war.
Imagine these firing at you, from 6-8 AN/M2 machine guns at a rate of 750 rounds per minute each.

Is amazing to see the change in kinetic energy transfer between the rounds.
With the armor piercing you don't have nearly as much transfer of energy as it just passes though.

I loved so much about the video, but what I love most was the EDITING! Such excellent pacing, it just flowed like a natural conversation. And the attention to detail was so precise! I'm sure I hardly noticed the best details, but the pop up sfx, slow/fast mix on the plate hits and blurred logo on the over-the-shoulder shot; so nice! Did you color correct the sparkles coming from the back of the plate? It just popped so nice! I learn a lot from watching your videos. Thank you so much!
At 4:05 you can actually see the plate wobble like a sheet of paper in the wind ! Bas Ass 👍🏽🇺🇸 MERICA!!
In the slow-mo one can see a burst of sparks flyin' in the air.. That's tiny steel splinters going hypersonic and glowing due to the heat of the enormous kinetic energy transfer.. That would make some clown an entirely new kind of face for sure.. :D

Did anyone notice the wobble of the bullet at the 6:26 time stamp? I hope the issue is with the ammo and not the barrel itself. If it were not for rifling the accuracy of the billet would have been as bad as the old flintlocks.

Look at all the shrapnel from the jacket at 1:20. It comes back towards him. It would never actually make it to him from that distance but it just goes to show you that you don't shoot steel without safety glasses

*neorenamon* Yes, indeed you should. Specs require combustion flare must be rear-visible even in daylight. USGI/NATO usually red, Russian usually green. Five or more in a row means end-of-belt. Cheers!
