Considering how often Nintendo fecks over their players with constantly shutting down services, etc I'd say the expansion pack is not worth it.
Hell, the 20 a year isn't really worth it and I only got it for the icons they hid behind a damn paywall. Then again they did that on the 3ds with themes so yeah. I'm honestly surprised they haven't even given us themes yet. But it sucks they want you to pay even more just for certain consoles for the online.
I'd rather pull out my N64 to play Pokémon Stadium or any other N64 than pay more money. Hell, I can get more N64 games cheaper than they charge for the pack. Same with the Sega, etc.

For local play, totally agree with whipping out the console - but I'm super excited to finally be able to play the rarer games like Stadium and MP1/3 online for sure! If I didn't have my OG N64 and physical carts, would be tricky to be fair - game prices for carts would definitely be way more expensive than the pack (where I am anyway!)
Do agree though on the shutting down of services, the expansion pack is bound to end in 3,4,5 years (hopefully longer, though) making it a tricky sell given you don't own the games (maybe even sooner, given Nintendo, well, yeah!)
