@@pieofchart The reason why people still believe this dumb hoax is because there was a real recording of a cosmonaut getting brunt up in the atmosphere, its likely people confuse this hoax audio for that real audio.
I think it could be a transmission (hence the name "Trans6") from a number station. This sounds a lot like an automatic voice reading the numbers out loud. In the HL2 Beta there's also a pair of binoculars, that play "Der Böllerschütz von Mittenwald", which is also used in the real world by the number station "G01" ("Tyrolean Music Station").
Actually Trans6 was ment for a level by Mark Laidlaw made around 2002 - early 2003 that was called Hazard01. It was a spooky Hazard Course map created by Mark Laidlaw to see if any surreal effects could be incorporated into HL2 but it's unknown how it was received internally. Footage exists of the map and it's been recreated a lot in the leak.
Sounds like the source could be a heavily-distorted clip from the infamous "Swedish Rhapsody" numbers station. I know a lot of people are saying this is from a Russian cosmonaut hoax, but the mechanical inflections sound much more like a numbers station.
You're right - the beta had some cool content, but unfortunately a lot of it had to be dropped as Half-Life 2 went through many iterations, until it was finally redesigned into the game that we got. Like the Combines architecture style in the beta was a lot more "grungy". They broke down human materials and used them to create their own buildings; hence why the beta stuff was pretty rough looking and a bit rusty. I don't think that would fit with the more neat, but still spartan architecture that we got in the finished Half-Life 2.
The retail Half Life 2 was actually always planned, the Beta was more of an concept they tried out but realise it wouldn't be attention grabbing as much as the retail. Honeslty i find the Retail better than the Beta for sure plus: The Beta wouldn't be that good at all considering most of the levels planned were visuals testing that did nothing to impact the gameplay, the beta didn't really had all that charm compared to retail honestly, if the entire game was dark for the sake of being dark alot of Half Life 2 moments we love could'nt be applied there, the gameplay seemed more of scenery rather than any action compared to half life 2. The "creepy" audio files have no place to be fit in, most concept were kinda blank honestly. While the cut weapons and enemies were indeed cool ngl.
I think this is creepy because it is the sound of a a cosmonaut who's ship caught in flames and died in the fire I think this is more scary because of the origin this sound comes from
My running theory was that I think this sound was supposed to play inside either The Citadel or one of the complexes like Air Exchange. It was supposed to be the sound of a human being forcefully made into a synth and you were gonna hear it over a radio causing the distortion effect. That's why it's called "trans6" I think aswell. It was for the TRANShumans and was going to be brought to the player through a radio TRANSmission. That's just me though.

fun fact: this audio was used for the cut gman scene in early beta, when you're nearing the door, this sound would play, followed by random terminal decals flying right at you

It's interesting you say that, because some of the sound effects in Half-Life 2 are recycled/reused versions of other sounds; either from a library of generic movie sounds, or ones that Valve created themselves.

unpopular opinion: i liked the release atmosphere and world possible explanation is that it's set in eastern Europe, i live in eastern europe and all this architecture, vibe and weather remind me of home, but that's just me probably
What's crazy too is that most of what could be called the Beta in the game leak of 2001 and 2002 was in all reality very deep in development stuff. By this point HL2 was already in development for close to 4 years. All of the maps, guns, enemies, and so on that were playable from the leak were not early in development stuff at all. That was close to final product stuff if they kept to everyone they had made and spent like another few months stitching it together and finalizing everything, but obviously they didn't like what they had and just kept evolving everything instead. They basically made like several complete games and the one we ultimately got was what they liked the best. That's the cool part of the whole thing that separates HL2 Beta from other games during their development as with those it's so early that there's not much substance to look at whereas here you can practically play a different game altogether from what eventually came out.

Its a hoax
I think it could be a transmission (hence the name "Trans6") from a number station. This sounds a lot like an automatic voice reading the numbers out loud.
In the HL2 Beta there's also a pair of binoculars, that play "Der Böllerschütz von Mittenwald", which is also used in the real world by the number station "G01" ("Tyrolean Music Station").
It's ruclips.net/video/rUvOZqJusvg/видео.html
It's distorted audio of a numbers station. I'll post a source soon.
from the name of the file, i guess this could be the sound of a combine soldier being made or a stalker being made.
No that's not what it is... Research this and you will find out what it is...
@@Turbs94945 I know, i heard about the woman in the aircraft, but im talking about half life, not the sound files origin.
I know a lot of people are saying this is from a Russian cosmonaut hoax, but the mechanical inflections sound much more like a numbers station.
ruclips.net/video/svxeB-Jklk8/видео.html its from something similar
I wish they would have used all the beta content because I love creepy shit like this
You're right - the beta had some cool content, but unfortunately a lot of it had to be dropped as Half-Life 2 went through many iterations, until it was finally redesigned into the game that we got.
Me too mane i love those creepy shits and cut content
If those were left I wouldn't even have played ravenholm, NOT even half-life In general because then I will feel like I would get jump scared!

No, I don't think I will
I think this is creepy because it is the sound of a a cosmonaut who's ship caught in flames and died in the fire I think this is more scary because of the origin this sound comes from
@@jackarlow4202 lol. that was proven to be a hoax. the actual story is from two brothers that made this audio back in the 50s
It's played in a transit system.
Actually Trans6 was ment for a level by Mark Laidlaw made around 2002 - early 2003 that was called Hazard01. It would involve Gordon in a Hazard Course where he was to shoot a crate with a SMG. After going off limits by blowing it up, he goes down a series of hallways while going across disturbing sights (like a Zombie torso on a table or seeing popups of spooky stuff) then a Hallway with flashing walls and the audio playing, forced moved to the end and Gman stating he's not suppost to be there past a door. Then it resets and Gordon completes the test normally and walks out.
It was created by Mark Laidlaw to see if any surreal effects could be incorporated into HL2 but it's unknown how it turned out.
Footage exists of the map and it's fully playable in the leak.
@@GriffithSlayer it was debunked though
@@labenvenci1584 that zombie torso part was fan made, an HD replication map playthrough was uploaded to youtube, though, after much digging, it seems as though nothing was there, however there was an npc in one of the rooms, likely an assassin or combine soldier next to what looked like a door.
Just another Jojo Weeb
It was proven fake
fun fact: this audio was used for the cut gman scene in early beta, when you're nearing the door, this sound would play, followed by random terminal decals flying right at you
I could've sworn I heard this somewhere in the citadel during my last replay of HL2
this is still the creepiest audio i have ever heared in a video game
Context: if you listen closely you will here someone shaking the door and speaks Help
Nope. Its just your brain thats making things up. This voice is an distorted version of an radio broadcast. Or something like that.

The Half-Life 2 beta really does hit different. I kinda wish that was the final product we got. I like dark and disturbing storylines.

The concept is cool but the storyline isnt cool
@@selfinsertedchudvz341 i like the current version as it's still dark, possibly even darker than the beta, you just have to look into the lore to find that darkness. I myself have descended deep into that dark cave of lore and lemme tell you, this game series has some pretty terrifying implications.
It sounds like a stalker screaming like in half life 2 ep 1
Like they're being transformed?
It's interesting you say that, because some of the sound effects in Half-Life 2 are recycled/reused versions of other sounds; either from a library of generic movie sounds, or ones that Valve created themselves.
The audio is an actual recording of an russian cosmonaut complaining about the extreme and unusual heat in her reentry pod while returning to Earth before getting blasted to smithereens.
My world is certainly dark and gritty….
My personal headcanon: This is The Citadel on Full Alert, because it’s an organic being in a shell of metal. (At least, in my version of HL2)

You know, the original half life 2 is still a little creepy. And for what we have seen, in the beta the game was suppose to be a more eerie kind of thing. Which i do believe explains alot of theses sounds, but i do think they would use this sound on one of the empty citys of the game.
knowing anything marc laidlaw could've made this himself, it's not out of the ordinary for him to do something like this
edit: he also voiced the zombies so it would make sense
It actually is!
It's ment for Hazard01, a map by Marc Laidlaw to test if Surreal effects could be put into HL2.
Trans6 is short for Transition6, as it's ment for a scripted event in a hallway.

half life 2 beta was maybe the darkest game ever to be created
