Thanks for watching guys! Don't forget to like and share the video, we love you! 🥰
Your channel is like watching the old 35 mm motion picture projector of everyone's family vacations and Celebrations.
We really did do that in the 1960-1970..lol.
Great Video.
👍
When this series is done, can you please make a PLAYLIST of this journey? Unless you have ALREADY done this with last years trip? Your looking for people that will watch the 1st one WITHOUT having to click or search for the next part of the series. This gives you tons more views, and hopefully, more videos watched back 2 back, long term.
simply critique, when parts of the video only have the music, can that be adjusted down? it seems like the intro music section is like 10x the volume of your commentary parts. see 0:32 for example.

Look for some fossils while you are there.
I love the fact that you're still having the kids do homework ✨👌🏼✨
The kids are home school, the important things come first.
Humm home school parent here your crazy@@jrksoldierx1436
@@williamscoggin1509I think this was all filmed over summer break.
What a life you are living and a lifetime of experiences and memories you are collecting! Thanks for letting us tag along, it's so much fun to be a part of your exploration of our great country. 💝
Thanks for the love! We are having the best time
@@yournewzealandfamily Great family that's fun to watch experiencing the ultimate trip, but it's truly next level planning and editing to pull the whole thing off for RUclips -- goonies for you on this one!
Your kids will remember this trip till their dying days. 60 years from now, they will still talk about it.
Sam's giddy excitement and laughter made my eyes water 🤗
🤣🤣.. It was almost an evil laugh
Sam smiling and being giddy is so great. It made me smile to see the happiness in his face. Definitely his Disneyland.
Thousands of years ago, Oregon was home to giant mammals like beavers, Columbian mammoths, and the 7-foot-tall Harlan's ground sloth. That "prehistoric" building was the prehistoric gardens. It's a display of what that part of the coast would have looked like then.
And than short faced bear.
This just may be the greatest series of youtube videos of all time. As Sam would say...LEGENDS!
You guys are going to have these amazing memories for the rest of your lives. So awesome, thanks for posting!
Now this is what I needed today!
Y'all really are living the American Dream. It's so awesome to see the love you have for our country!
Your channel is like a merry carousel that never stops spinning. Continue to delight us with your great content and positive energy!♂️👹🌗
Oregon is top tier. has desert, valley, mountains, and beaches. love it
Your channel is a real treasure trove of inspiration. Thank you for your contribution!😅🥊🍫
I love your reactions of seeing our great country and the fascination I hear in your voices. I would love to see some of your country and learn about where you live in New Zealand. It's nice that you find America fascinating and I in return am fascinated with your country New Zealand please please make a video of where you live and a little bit more of how you do things there great video🥰🥰🫡
It just makes my heart happy seeing others happy and living out their dreams. It doesn't matter who you are or where you're from. Life is short and it can be tough sometimes. Making memories, no matter how big or small, is incredible. Cheers to making more memories together as a family🥂🫶
Watching your journey through the U.S. in that RV is pure magic. There’s something so special about seeing you all experience these iconic places for the first time… places that some of us never fully appreciate. The awe, the curiosity, the way you find joy in them… it’s truly moving. And honestly, you bring more heart to these places than I think we Americans often do ourselves.
Every time I watch, I find myself unexpectedly tearing up. There’s this blend of pride for my country, mixed with a kind of ache. I guess it’s partly because I (and so many others) didn’t grow up with that kind of love or adventure together as a family. It’s like there’s this bittersweet realization that so many of us have missed out on these moments in our own backyard.
But you all make up for that in spades. I love these videos, and I wish they’d never end. Thank you for capturing every laugh, every pause, every cinematic shot that makes me feel like I’m right there with you. You’re showing us all what’s possible with a little wonder, a little family, and a whole lot of heart. Never stop sharing… because some of us need this more than you know.
I am in my mid-seventies now and living in the Northeast, but grew up in the fifties in
Portland, Oregon, and Cannon Beach, along with Astoria and Seaside, were my favorite
summer vacation spots. Enjoy yourselves! you lucky kiwis!.
It always makes me happy to get your notification! ❤
LOVE LOVE LOVE the 80s music you've been putting in the edits. #80sKid
Thanks for showing AMERICAN families how to enjoy this country!
If you love Christmas so much, you need to go to Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland in Frankenmuth, Michigan. It’s the largest Christmas store in the country.
Love how you’re getting great at the editing and music choices. Bravo
We are always trying to improve!
Thanks for the trip to Oregon ! It was beautiful !❤❤❤❤
Its amazing you get to live out your dream and share it with you family. Amazing man.
So so grateful!
@yournewzealandfamily as a man from Oregon who now lives in Washington its been great seeing your trip 101 and how much you all have enjoyed it. It brought back after my time in the 101st airborne div.
It’s always a great evening when the NZ fam drop a video!!! Just in time to watch while I eat burritos
The best place to see sea lions is downtown Newport, Oregon on the fish docks. Nancy
that song at 30m mark of video make me feel old since was 17 at time it came out and was in high school.
Great song 🎵 I was singing along. 😊
They also filmed kindergarten Cop with Arnold Schwartznegger in Astoria
"The Goonies Never Say Die"... Great vid guys.
I wonder if they also made it up to Astoria to see the Goonies House?
The joy on your faces! Priceless and precious!🤗💜
My wife and I (20 years last Feb) got engaged at Canon Beach. She's from Oregon, I grew up in Maine. Met in college in western NY. She was home for the summer and I was visiting her at home for the first time. Beautiful place.
11:45 Nadine's smile and the awestruck look of wonder on her face is the highlight of this video! At this exact moment I can honestly see the little girl she used to be. I am so glad y'all are enjoying your time here!
God bless the USA🇺🇸🇺🇸
Stoked every time.
Cannon Beach is the best. I've been there several times and would go back at every chance. The tidal pools are so much fun to explore.
I love so much how much you are enjoying my homeland in the PNW
I love the choice to use licensed music for a soundtrack to the vlogs. Gives a professional feel.
Thanks for noticing! We try to make our videos feel a little more cinematic!
I’ve been loving the music too!
@@yournewzealandfamily Your editing is outstanding. You could have a career in the film industry.
So cool to see y'all experience America! God bless America and God bless New Zealand 🇺🇸🇳🇿
I love your videos! This one brought me much needed laughter and pure joy. I travel between Northern California and Washington state quite often (heading North to Dunsmuir CA tonight, then on to the Olympic Peninsula Friday morning ). I have a list of place along the Oregon coast that I really want to visit and you’ve literally shown me places that I did not know existed! I can’t wait to replicate your Oregon journey! ❤❤❤❤
I love watching your adventures ❤❤ always bring a smile to my heart and face. Also great camera work 👌🏾 👏🏾
Got me singing along with that last song..
I really enjoy being on this trip with your family!
👴👍🏻🇺🇸
Thanks for joining us!
Excellent posting as always - the Goonies natural set is a perfect location. I've been down the Oregon coast heading south from Vancouver Canada and the roads can be crazy when going down from the mountains.
You guys have had great luck with the weather, I lived there for a lot of years, rains a lot in the summer & winter/ spring is a soaking wet moldy miserable existence, have fun safe travels!!
I love watching your videos guys! Have lots of fun! Great music by the way. My kids and I loved ( Goonies) also. There all grown up now though. I just had tuna salad sandwich for supper x 2. Love from Indiana! Stay safe! 😊
Seeing your kids do their schoolwork at the table in the RV brought back a flood of wonderful memories for this 55 year old guy. My brother and I would do the same on family vacations, forty something years ago. Sure is cool watching your wonderful family have the quintesential American roadtrip vacation!
Lived in Oregon my whole life. Even lived in Seaside and at the beach for awhile. The most beautiful state!!!! Oregon is worth visiting!!!!!!
You're truly a blessed man Sam. I've been a subscriber since the beginning of your channel. I live vicariously through you and your family. I don't have a family of my own, but if I did, I would want it to be like yours. May God continue to bless you and your family my friend. 🤍
I know it's a bit late to say this but when you're camping, the easiest breakfast in the world to make is to grab a package of Bob Evan's breakfast sausages and put them in a frying pan. Add a couple of sliced Granny Smith apples (skin on) and cook til you think it's finished. I like mine well cooked. Nothing else is needed. No oil, no butter. No muss, no fuss! Simple. The grease from the sausages cooks everything. The apples flavor the sausages and the sausages flavor the apples. Only thing to clean is the frying pan. Viola! Bon Appetite! (I didn't say it is a healthy breakfast, just saying it tastes great and keeps your stomach full for hours!)
I've lived on the East coast of the US my entire life. You're visiting places I've never heard of. Thanks for introducing me to such beauty. It's so far from where I live. But if you can travel from New Zealand, I find a way to visit my family on the West coast.
George I'm an Oregonian been east but never to Maine or deep south! Now I'm looking to leave the us may never get to Maine or Florida? But I won't live under fascist trump!
What an epic trip…You guys are LEGENDS!
I loved seeing Sam so giddy of a place to visit!! Such amazing experiences for all of you!! ❤
What a great video. I needed this today; it's been a rough couple of days. Cheers.
I hope you guys see Astoria, the bridge there will blow your mind! Its 4 miles long, connecting Oregon too Washington. ❤
Thanks again for sharing the magic!
I grew spending every summer at Manzanita and Cannon Beach. That it’s a lifelong dream for someone to visit really puts into perspective how blessed I’ve been to have the Oregon coast close by.
I'm a sales rep in Oregon and I sell to gift shops in all the towns along the coast. It was fun seeing things from a visitor's perspective. Too bad you didn't have time to stop in more towns. You missed the really cute part of Florence. If you went to the bay in Newport, you could have seen docks overflowing with sea lions laying on them, making a lot of noise. Heceta Head Lighthouse (you saw it from Sea Lion Cave) has a fantastic view of the coast and down towards the beach below. Christmas Cottage is at the southern end of Lincoln City and Pronto Pup is in Rockaway Beach, which has a great rock formation called twin rocks. Looking forward to your next video.
Crazy I want to go to New Zealand for the Lord of the Rings tour and New Zealanders are coming to my home for a Goonies tour.
There are so many memories. My aunt and uncle ran a motel in Newport. Fishing, beach combing. Those were the days. I am happy your family enjoyed everything.
lived in Astoria for a while and always found it entertaining how through movie magic those kids were able to ride their bikes to cannon beach, which without traffic is like a half hour of more drive from Astoria. Still an amazing place to have lived for a time.
Seeing you guys excited to explore the places I see everyday during my visits to my parents on the Oregon coast is so exciting!
I’m sending my love and support here from Michigan❤
Hearing Marie at the end man I miss her still R.I.P Gun-Marie Fredriksson forever missed. Time to play Roxette at a very loud volume tomorrow when everyone else is at work, time to Crash Boom Bang. Love the Goonies and love that you guys got be there.
Was on a roadtrip through Washington and Oregon years ago with friends and made them stop at Canon Beach specifically because of Goonies. Really cool to see in person.
I'm a native of the Coos Bay area (North Bend). All the bridges on 101 were built by Conde McCullough, the engineer who figured out pre-stressed concrete. Each bridge is a graphic representation of the local community. Conde's retirement cabin is not far from the North Bend bridge, up the Coos River. My grandpa knew him as he was mayor of Empire, which today is the western side of the city of Coos Bay. Thank you for showing my homeland. I miss it, but have retired to Lower Alabama, just north of Mobile. We love it here, but I will always love my home.
I spent many years in Florence..my parents grew up there before we moved to Coulee Dam, Washington
I love you guys! Its always so fun to watch the videos of the memories youre making here in America!
Good for you....living out a little boys dreams! Special, special family!!!
Loved your video! It’s fun watching your travels through your eyes! I look forward to your new videos every week. Thanks for sharing! ❤
Love Florence.....it's so beautiful 💙💙💙💙
AH THE BEST PART OF THE WEEK. Gotta love watching these vlogs
Cannon beach??? So rad. We grew up traveling there. What a small world. PNW is truly magical!
I was hoping you would stop in Astoria!!! Took my kids there when they were younger. Such a wonderful place. The pure happiness on Sams face made me really want to go back.
Love the Goonies!! So glad you all are enjoying your trip and exploring America 🇺🇸 ❤
Goonies never say die!
I havent seen Sam so Amazed & blown away by something since he first watched the "hardest NFL hits" on the Kiwi kicker channel.
A lifetime experience for your family love this so much ❤
I am so glad you liked the Oregon Coast! It has been my home for over 30 years and I couldn't imagine living anywhere else.
fun fact, the Pronto Pup you drove past is where the corndog was invented in 1939

Beautiful weather. I lived on the Oregon coast for 8 years and the winters are not nice.
In the Goonies, they filmed the town settings in Astoria. Beautiful town.
I loved seeing Denzel interacting with the wildlife. Glad your lifelong dream came true for you Sam. So excited you got to experience it. 🙏🏻
I have a picture of all the New Zealand seals at Milford Sound. Was there when I was a kid about Denzel's age.
SO good! Thanx for sharing your lives and travels with us. I've not seen much of what you share in person, but yet I feel as if I've been there with friends!
Florence is known for their kites. People fly them on the beach. I bought a kite there (maybe 50yrs ago) and proudly kept it on display in my room for many years. It's lovely there, My neice lives in Eugene and loves it there. I love seeing the moment that dreams come true.
I have been a fan of The Goonies for as far back as I remember. I have always wanted to go to see where it was filmed. Thank you so much for letting me see it through your eyes. I am eagerly awaiting your next video.
I'm so happy this came out today. I'm heading out to tomorrow to spend the weekend in Lincoln City (the town with the cute Christmas store). Glad you love our coast. It's the best!
Ok, I think is one of my favorite videos seeing Sam’s giddiness and excitement. Love going on this trip with you. Next time come up the East Coast and visit Western New York and Niagara Falls
Love Newport, Oregon. My family used to go vacation there for a few summers. If you ever go back to Oregon, when I have gone there has been people who will drive you around in dune buggies.
I spent a few years living in Cannon Beach in the early 2000s. It’s still one of my favorite places to visit. I’m glad you could check it out too.
We live in Eugene and we go to Florence often (it's about a 50 minute drive). Thank you for visiting our state, I'm glad you got to see some of it! 🙂
whoever did the editing 👏👏🎬🎬
All Sam! 😀
Poor Nadine didn’t get to go to the Christmas Shoppe! 😢
Beautiful video as always!❤
What a sweet video! This is the nicest, most wholesome channel on YT!
Beautiful Beautiful song at the end of the video!
Grew up visiting cannon beach as a kid, my has it changed over the years 😘
Making lifetime memories. You are a cool family!
I look forward to these videos coming out, thanks a lot for sharing!
